I think if she was hungry for milk she would have tried to leave Komomo and get it.
When does she eat or nurse? Concerned I’ve been following her adventures from birth.
Hi Gorilla lovers! I like reading your comments, I talk about my favorite gorilla families but hard to find family members or friends with the same interest. I love to watch them, so entertaining. I'm bedridden 95% of the time so since i'm limited as to what I can do, they are a big part of my entertainment. Thank God for the people who take the time to film them all for us.

Sumomo is a little clunker. I love her chubby legs and arms. They're so cute. She's seems bigger then her nephew Kintaro when he was that age so there's no doubt in my mind that she is being fed very well and properly. Iriki's son Ringo at the zoo in Taipei is older then Sumomo and is also slimmer then her and he's breastfeeding. The staff knows what to do. They were in charge of taking care of baby Sumomo very shortly after birth bc Momoko was very sick and couldn't do it on her own. I'm thankful the staff intervened bc every little gorilla born and surviving is so very important.
I wonder if it's because Komomo is not used to handle a baby, maybe Momoko would have let Sumomo have her drink? In any case, this is not good, I remember that when Gentaro was a baby he had no problems drinking from the keeper's milk bottle.
The keepers aren't going to let little one starve . They more than likely tried again.
I was excited when I saw the video title so those concerned about Sumomo could see her received a bottle. I hope does not become a habit to not allow the zoo keeper from feeding her the bottles of milk. Cause it could be difficult to get her away from the troop to feed her. I hope we see successful feedings in the future. (I've always enjoyed watching Gentaro walk up to the gate to have his bottle. And Kintaro have his cereal from the nurse).

@@lynngold1865 And how many times have you seen her approach a bottle even on other channels? I was hoping to see at least once, but my sister has annexed the baby! It's a big problem as animals are not trained to let a child eat through bars.

@@lynngold1865 You can see how healthy she is Lynn if she was hungry she would have tried to get the milk. Too many people say Komomo doesn't put her down but she doesn't want to get down if she did Komomo wouldn't stop her.

見方を変えれば、いつも自由を奪われ、食事タイムも胡瓜や茄子の欠片も食べれず可哀そうに思います。😢コモモさんは本当に愛情深いゴリラですが、ゴリラって子供に餌を与える習性がないですよね。あげるのは母乳だけですよね。大人しく抱かれているスモモちゃんはお腹がすいてないか、喉が渇いてないかと気になります。
リキ君が10か月の頃は元気に走り回り、かなりワンパクぶりを発揮してましたよね。

Sumomo does get supplemental feedings from the keepers off camera (bite sized foods, and a 🍼 bottle of milk every couple of hours. The method of offering Sumomo a 🍼 bottle through the bars 3:04 is usually done inside. 4:48 Plum eats also in the enclosure, is not unhealthy, and is at a good weight now. I am sure after the troop were called inside 3:42 Plum was then fed 😊.
I saw Sumomo eating with Komomo in the enclosure as well. Momoko's milk dried up shorty after Plum was being hand reared. I am sure this is not the usual method of offering Plum her 🍼 bottle, and so Komomo looked a bit awkward. That is probably why the troop was called in so that Sumomo could be fed. She looks healthy.if there is a further problem the keepers will make adjustments accordingly.
@@jlsherman5805 I agree 💯. They are not going to let Plum starve. People see one thing, and take off with the comments:. The baby is starving, the baby is not being fed, Komomo needs to put Sumomo down, Momoko seems disinterested and doesn't take care of her baby. 🙄 Good heavens! The keepers...let them do their job. They're thus done it so far with Plum. Trust they will make adjustments if need be.

初めまして、いつも楽しく拝見させていただいてます。上の子3人がスモモちゃんをとても大切にしてるのを見て感じ取れます。ただ..やはり他の方も心配されてるように人工哺育で育ったスモモちゃんはモモコの母乳で育ってないので介添哺育が必要なわけで、上の子3人にとても愛されてるのは見てて暖かな気持ちになると同時に、幼いスモモには子育ての経験豊富なモモコママに張り付いてくれる方が見てて安心出来る事も確かですね😂きっと、見てないところでミルクもちゃんと飲んでるだろうし、取り越し苦労な思いなのかもしれませんがね😅可愛いスモモちゃんが元気に健やかに日々成長してくれたらそれだけで嬉しい限りです😊

I am sure the keeper tried again to give Sumomo her milk. The keepers aren't going to let baby starve. So everybody doesn't need to start with the dramatics 🙄
It's true but it's worrisome. If they won't allow her to drink through the screen, it will not be easy to isolate her to get her to drink.

These people are professionals at this! I would imagine that Momoko takes over inside! She's the one who's used to letting her drink her bottles! Kokomo will release the baby to her Mom! That's why they went inside so they could corral them and separate who they need too! Do you all really think this zoo would allow anything like your thinking to happen to this baby that they have brought this far! Stop the negative thinking! The zoo is doing exactly what they need too! Stop judging every little thing you see for 10 min. A day! Watch and enjoy ❤️🦍

I can’t help thinking of how barren and static the space is that the baby is exploring here. How much richer and environment would be in the forest, full of color, movement, insects, smells, living things.

Does anybody know, when Sumomo rejoined the group, did Momoko take back over in the mom role or was she joined with Komomo first as if Komomo is was Sumomo's mom? Like did Momoko recognize her own daughter and/or strong enough to take back Sumomo to raise her herself? I just noticed that Sumomo spends lots of time with Komomo. Great experience for her, I hope one day they find a mate for Komomo, I think she's been more than ready to become a mom and leave her home. There are so many bachelors in the U.S., my favourite is Hasani Junior, that would be great to see them together. There's also his uncle Jabari that's single, both at the Los Angelos Zoo. Gotto keep breeding them, we can't lose the species.

The baby has been bottle fed from the moment she went back to troupe they train them to receive it. They train all for health checks etc. the zoo isn’t going to allow the gorilla to starve she just didn’t take it then

They had a monitor screen so that visitors could see what they do inside, but it has been broken since last autumn and has not yet been repaired….

Komomo has Sumomo more than the other siblings, including Momma Momoko. She should be trained to come up to the gate so Sumomo can get her milk.

What is wrong with the baby's middle finger on her left hand? The end of her finger looks like it has some sort of injury. It's pink and swollen or is that just a birthmark kind of thing?

I think it’s just a birthmark/pigmentation thing. Baby gorilla Vizazi in the Netherlands had two pink thumbs. 😊

I always wonder if Momoko would recognize her son Momotaro today? Also wonder what he would think of finding out he has 3 sisters and a brother. I think when Haoko came to the zoo Momotaro was already gone, does anyone know this?
Actually, Momotaro still lived in Ueno Zoo when Haoko came to the zoo (but there are 2 exhibition fields and they live in the different ones)🦍🦍

Her mom Momoko had been separated and cured for anaemia after giving birth to baby Sumomo.
Both Momoko and Sumomo reunited with the troop and Momoko sometimes takes care of her baby, and sometimes her children Komomo, Momoka, and Riki do.
