- This was the longest project ever and it took us months to finish it. I wanted to give up few times but at the end we decided to finish it as this beautiful piece of vintage furniture deserved one more chance in life.
So plenty stencilling and oiling later we have our dressing table finished.
Materials used in this makeover 👇
Hard Wax Osmo Oil in high gloss, Dixie Belle Deep sea,, Gold gilding wax

Thank you so much for your videos. Your restorations are beautiful. I agree with you, No Nonsense Paint Stripper is one of the most nonsensical paint strippers out there. Never again!!
Thank you very much for watching and comment. 😁
Wow!! Stunning! Thank goodness you persevered.
It is undoubtedly beautiful but I wish you would have restored it as it was gorgeous. The was alone was beautiful. Thank you for saving it for others to admire and enjoy. 🌹🧑🏼🦳🇺🇸🛐
There was some.damage that could not be restored. That's why I had to paint. Thank you for watching. 😁
Very very good creative decisions made to bring the piece into modern day service, preserving the art that was there nearly 100 years ago
Beautiful good job keeping with it.

Hi , from Melbourne Australia, the gliding wax looks more bronze than gold , your piece looks gorgeous
Thank you very much. 😊 Sometimes my camera shows colour different than it is in person. If you know what I mean.
Nice.
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous piece I also want to do an art deco piece with gold stripes, so do I need to put the oil before or after the gold ? Thanx
It depends what you will use for gold stripes. I used wax but I let oli settle first. Week or two min before gold wax.
This is gorgeous. I realize this video is a couple of years back but what stencil is this?
I have the same question lol
Oh my goodness!!!!! This is absolutely stunning. Definitely a labor of love. Well done!! I just subscribed.
Thank you very much for watching and subscription. ☺️☺️☺️☺️
What stripped would you recommend instead?

@@ViChalkyFurniture Oh you are so kind! That's an amazing tip and just what I needed!
Where did you buy the stencils please

Here. There you go 😁
Beautiful! Where do you get those really large art deco stencils from please?
I got this from the stencils up page.
OMG. You absolutely MUTILATED that beautiful piece of furniture. This is a crime.
oh well......
Paint? WTH! Totally insane!
What is that gold wax please? Do you seal the wax in as well or does it cure after a while? As per all your work is beautiful ☺️❤️
Hi. I use pebeo wax. You can get them in different colours. I usually buy from Amazon or my local craft shop. Whatever is cheaper 😜 you do not need to seal wax. It will cure and will stay in place. Thank you ☺️
Stunning result, absolutely beautiful! Could you please share your source for the stencils?

Thank you very much for lovely words and watching. Link above will take you to stencil shop. 😁
Absolutely Wonderful! You said it took months... because of the oil curing? Could the oil have been sealed if you needed to deliver sooner? That may be a silly question, but I am just learning about furniture restoration and have a very small space.
It took months as I was so in love with this piece and I hated it the same time. It was due to difficulties that I have with this piece. Oil was not a problem. It is usually a week for oli to cure enough to deliver. Normally oil needs 8-10 hours to harden but for moving furniture safely week of wait is a min wait.👍👍👍
I think it looks beautiful, but sadly, I think you should’ve never stencil it naturally it was so beautiful🤷♂️
Agreed! It was stunning! Wish I’d found it first!😢
You did a satisfactory job, but you should have thoroughly cleaned the piece inside and outside before anything else. The straight, rigid lines of the front stenciling do not mesh well with the curves of the piece and the other stenciling..
Just saying..
Thank you for watching and valuable comments.
It was a shame to ruin it, it got ugly.
Ohhh well.....
