When we say cops NEED better training, THIS is EXACTLY what we are talking about. SO MANY cops don't know the laws they are being PAID BY US to enforce.
So many instances in just this one video of INADEQUATE TRAINING. Instead of saying "yes you do have to give me your ID" if you don't know, call in and ASK if you're allowed to demand ID from passengers. Instead these morons went off on their own F'ing program so they could look tough and in charge.
Be careful out there folks - plenty of cases of these situations turning deadly, but know your rights and demand that any officer pulling you over knows your rights and abides by them.
These jackaloons should be sent back the academy at the very least for total lack of competence on the job.

We need fundamentally 'different' training. They're intentionally trained to be fascists. The time is focused on how to evade your rights, and how to take money from you, and how to shoot people. That's all they have time to cover in the 22 weeks.

The problem with laws that govern when you are required to identify yourself is they vary wildly from State to State and the legal standards that courts use to interpret them are very subjective.
