Glad to see that you guys reviewed a good Canadian Whiskey! We have plenty more up here so don't be shy. Also, we keep all the good stuff up here because although we are polite, we are damn selfish when it comes to quality. Cheers from the North!
I have been waiting for this video since I started watching the channel. I live in the city where the Hiram Walker distillery is. Some days I can smell the used up grain from my house. Fun fact, the Hiram Walker Distillery is the largest distillery in North America!
Hey Daniel and Rex, love your show, i started watching around 2 months ago. After watching around 30-50 episodes i bought myself a bottle of Monkeyshoulder, Laphroaig and two Glenncairn glasses. I did the tasting the way you recomended spending a lot of time nosing the whiskey and picking out different flavours. Loved the Laphroaig. Last month i went to a longtime friend whom i knew had several nice whiskeys at home. The plan was to taste some of them. Of course we tried them all including Ledaig 10, 3 different Taliskers, Coal Ila and laphroaig select and some Independent Bottlings from around the city i live in (Hanover, Germany). I have expanded my collection by Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg 10 and Dalmore 12 all of which i really like. For now my favourite is the Laphroaig 10, i just love that sugarless salty caramel flavour i get. Any recomendations for next purchase? I am interested in the Highland Park 12. But maybe there is some other nice unsweetend salty caramel whiskey out there for me to try? Also love the Whiskey biscuits videos and would like to see a lot more. How does one go about visiting you guys? Keep up the great work best regards Andreas
A tear of pride just ran down my Canadian cheek as you review this great rye... But dammit that's supposed to be a Canadian secret whisky not for sharing. Somebody broke the Canadian code. Lol, love the channel.
Glad you finally got a chance to try Lot 40! I love the stuff and was praising it in the comments ages ago. It is weird that Canadian whisky distribution doesn't push very hard for the U.S. market.
OMG Finally! Also thats the full rye version. The 2012 is a different blend, I Think. Mark, Amy, & Dr. Don need to be guest summoned here for a Canadian friendship episode, with a Lot 40 Cask Strength bottle, of course. Side plug: try the Canadian Club 100% Rye.
The 2012 version is still 100 percent rye but there’s a percentage of malted rye in the mashbill. I believe the latest versions are all unmalted rye with enzymes added to replace the malting.
I just tried some Bulliet Rye, really enjoyed it. Followed it up with Laphroaig 10 and immediately got a barbeque meat taste out of it I'd never gotten before. Crazy. Also delicious.
Cloves and cardamom always remind me of Chai tea. I like the make my own Chai by boiling a pot of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and an orange slice. It may not be a traditional Chai but it is truly fantastic and the flavours always come back to me when tasting whisky. When Daniel is trying to describe the flavour of the orange with cloves it makes me wish I could teleport a cup of tea! Glad you could get another Canadian whiskey on the show. We have A LOT to offer, we just don’t like sharing!
I'm so glad that you reviewed this one! It's my favorite rye and I was hoping you would like it. I just got the cask strength version and it is.......challenging
Just getting into whisky. I started drinking Jameson a year ago and I had no idea how much depth there was to whisky. Then I tried the Caskmate variation and I knew already that there was a world to be explored. Thank you guys for doing this show! I went and bought myself a bottle of this and i'm enjoying it, it's just a little sweet for my palate (which you guys noted it's not sweet so maybe i'm not in the right department). If any of you guys know where to steer me for my next buy, please help me out! Keep up the good work and much love!
I’ve had that shot/neat dilemma...asked for some Bulleit neat at lunch while at a local ale house and the waitress kind of stared at me for a bit then said ok and returned with a shot of Bulleit, I had to let out a sigh and deal with what i was brought lol
Crazy to think you guys were slowing it down at 5000 when this video came out. I just applied the other day and there is 35,000 members. Awesome to see the growth!
I loved lot 40. Think demand has made it younger. It was my go to but the last few bottles I have got tasted young. I managed to find a bottle in a store with dust on it. I picked it up and it definitely had more age to it. The cask strength release of lot 40 is very good, 12 year and 110 proof. Less then 5000 bottled thou. I picked up 3.
Love Lot 40, it is my favorite Canadian whiskey. I am in Idaho, less than 90 miles from Canada. I am deeply concerned though, the yellow label is a mix of malted and unmalted rye. They have since changed to a green label and it has no malted rye......I don't like change!
If you're reviewing rye, it should be Angel's Envy rye. If anything, it's better than the bourbon. I'd send you a bottle, but I have too many whisk[e]ys left that I have to get for myself first.
I started watching your channel a couple of weeks ago and now beige watch at bedtime. I'm arriving in Austin sometime in 2018 what are your best whiskey bars? Extra points if it's a dive bar as well.
Great review considering I'm not a rye guy either, however I was heavily distracted by the macallan rare cask in the background! I will definitely be glad to pull mine off the top shelf and enjoy with you if that's the next review.
My brother in law just gave me a bottle of Lot 40 Rye for Christmas. I was very hesitant to crack it open since I'm not a big rye drinker. Now I am actually excited to try it after watching this video. Thanks you magnificent bastards!
i wasnt really into whiskey but still i got a bottle of monkey shoulder after watching your top 10 for beginners whiskey. all i got was wood. like biting into a table kind of wood. today i tryed laphroaig and lagavulin and i loved it. all those smoked meat notes catched my attention. like you already said, some people will hate this kind of whisky, others will adore it. i definitely will get some more islay stufff and report back.
Arguably my favourite Canadian whisky. They released a stellar 12 year old cask strength Lot 40. 55% ABV, but it was a limited release. If they do it again, get some!
I need to start commenting more! As of right now this is my favorite UA-cam channel. I wish at this point I could afford a trip down to Austin for the sommelier course!
Hey guys thanks for taking all the snobbery out of drinking whiskey! Any “whiskey of the month clubs” or dram clubs you recommend? The whole try before you buy concept would be nice. Thanks!!!
Boys let’s remember when the shot went down in the US prohibition your cousins up here did send down some good rye to continue the enjoyment. The 70’s showed the CAnadian Club which was the love of the business world. We’ve continued to refine and create some beautiful whiskeys and more. Come to Alberta and taste some more of our beautiful whiskeys developing every year.
The spices that you guys might be thinking about is the spice bag you add to make mulled wine. This really sounds amazing. I might have to get a bottle when I head up there this May.
Just made the tribe by skin of my teeth there phew!! I used to play the bass with my dad when he had restaurant/bar gigs when I was in 7-8th grade! But he’s a beer man and I was way too under age so I had to settle for bottomless Shirley Temples as comp. Uncle Bob gave me my first Johnnie Walker Black and it was love at first sip! Cheers Uncle Bob!
Hey...you two. Do you think the 2012 release is worth a 20% markup over the typical lot 40? You're absolutely right with the tea notes- I get that earl grey with this one too. If you're ever going to put a whisky in your tea- try lot 40. It's fantastic with both english black teas and chai teas. (tea teas hah) One of my friends was on trial for beating her husband with his guitar collection. The judge asked "First offender?" She responds "No, first a Gibson! Then a Fender."
I only get the tea notes with whiskies that I also get strong wood notes and I'm thinking that because black tea has some strong tannic notes that's where the correlation is coming in.
oh an also- in regards to rye you have had the Pikesville bottle hanging out up there over Daniels shoulder since episode 9 and I freaking love that stuff. Take it down to mooch every once in a while Rex! P.S. Bourbonr just did a blind tasting ua-cam.com/video/LZR2xbrF_94/v-deo.html and to the palates of that panel pikesville beat out saz18, van winkle reserve rye, and a slew of others.
From what I've heard, the 2012 (it will say on the label) is a rye & barley (?) blend, in homage to the original. The ones developed after (I think by Dr. Don Livermore) is a pure rye whiskey. Prices vary. #SharingisCaringCanada
When i refer you guys to people i always say its a whiskey genius and an off the street whiskey enthusiast and you get the nerd opinion and the everyman opinion and thats the dynamic that makes this show great
We are our own worst enemies when it comes to whiskey. Ask us if our whiskey is any good and we'll try not to offend. Lot 40 is great stuff. Rye in Canada is very different then that grown in southern states. Different flavors. All good.
Finally got up to Ep. 199 today and heard, "How many people would be interested in a FB page"....3 months later and The Tribe is currently just under 5K people. Love the content and how active it is, thank you all and all the fellow Magnificent Bastards!
So relevant, after seeing your video on the Classic Laddie I recently ordered one (at a very well equipped bar). Got it in a huge glass and there was so little i couldn't even tell its color. SAD!
Great hearing about your guys' beginnings, fantastic episode. Excuse me Daniel for being curious: I was kind of connecting dots, or not, but you said you'd spent time or lived in England for a spell (I did as well, a year in Sheffield); and I think you said you'd toured with a band called Delirious. Am I drawing a line?? Your family sounds very similar to mine, and where it stands now, funny. In one episode you seemed to know a tad more than the average Joe about Jesus's 1st miracle in Cana. I always think it's hilarious when that gets debated. Like come on, he not only made alcoholic wine, he made it for people who were already drunk! Really enjoying the vids, my FB has had a complete face-lift, almost too much. Send me all of your black licorice! Cheers!
So just the other day I felt in the mood for a glass of balcones single malt. To prep myself I watched y’all s review of the whisky. When I grabbed the bottle to pour it I noticed particles floating around the bottle. I was really confused and wrote to the distillery and after a day (it took a while because Texas froze over) they wrote back saying that it is natural because they have minimal filtering. They also said if it was chilled that the effect could bring that out too. My wife moved my whiskeys to a corner by a window a couple weeks ago. So I guess my questions are does this happen often and why? Does this effect lessen the whisky in any way? The reason I’m concerned is that I’ve bought beer like this not knowing till I drank it or poured it not realizing the beer was bad before it was too late. I don’t want to feel like I have a sour bottle but I kinda do.
Hey guys, ended up getting my hands on a highland park 12 (og bottling) and some monkey shoulder. They’re the first scotches I tried other than some Johnny Walker when I was like 18. I enjoyed them, but I find myself hunting for the hint of smoke and other flavors. One thing I have thought about it is I wear a lamb leather jacket most days (its been a cold winter for south Texas) and I think it’s tainted my palate. Every now and then I get this whiff of lamb skin, it’s slightly sweet, musty, and rich, I don’t know if you guys ever butchered a lamb, but it’s similar to that. When I taste these two whiskeys I get like 90% that sweet fleshy leather taste. I like it quite a bit, but it feels very one dimensional. Im gonna go on the hunt for something darker. I want something dark and smoky.
Its a trade off. We keep alot of the good stuff sure BUT Alberta Distillers sells us a muted version of what could be an absolutely fantastic whisky and exports their good stuff across the border and if we want it we have to pay a huge premium on it. I am a pretty big fan of lot 40, I snagged a bottle of the limited release 12 yr cask strength which remains unopened - but I feel for not much longer!
You mentioned about bars and their pours. The one I frequent (2 floors under my apartment) will pour you a shot if you ask for one. Otherwise it's neat and in a glass between a shot glass and a rocks glass. I feel it's a descent pour and no complaints from me. Is this a mooch story or a very generous bartender? Ordered a Manhattan and the bartender made enough for three drinks and with Woodford Reserve. I had all three and she charged me for only one.
Got a quick question for you guys... I’m searching for a whiskey that is salty or briney without the peat smoke. I’ve done the peat and it’s not really my thing, but the savory notes you talk about when describing the brine in whisky really appeals to me. Any recommendations?
Great video, dudes. Lot 40 is an amazing rye. I agree with you, Canada makes some pretty good stuff sometimes, and this is probably one of the better offerings. If you can ever get your hands on it, the cask-strength versions are mind-bogglingly good.
Yeah... Daniel, my mom is very old fashioned about the booze too. Since getting more into the show and working on building a whiskey collection, my visits back to the house after the liquor store are greeted with Southern Baptist-like judgement. As long as I pour a small amount just once and bring out a decent bottle of grocery store wine as a gift, all is good.
i was thinking of doing a whisky tour.... so rex what would it cost me to tour the whisky vault when daniel is away? i promise to only bring like 5 friends and maybe the whisky crew.
i love hearing about the behind the scenes and history of the channel Daniel, obviously Rex has learned a lot from you over the course of 300(?) videos, what level Som could he pass as? Has Rex ever taken (and paid for) the classes there?
What ryes have a black licorice on the taste? I've been hesitant due to the dill note which would make me puke but I do love me some licorice and would be very interested to try
Been a bartender since college, now I teach but I bartend at a local country club in the summer to keep busy, we don't really do shots there but a drink like Capt & coke or Vodka soda which is the most popular is 1 1/2oz, a rocks pour is 2oz, something neat is 3oz. Not saying that true of everybody but that's what I hope for which is why I drink beer when I'm out lol.
Make the orange ball on whisky biscuits Also I have a question for Daniel. How do you get people into whisky? I love whisky but my friends don't drink it, I offer but it but they politely decline.
Hey guys! Loving the knowledge you drop on me. You might have covered this already, if so, if any of the vaulters could point me to the ep. number, that would be very appreciated. I'm a severe celiac, As such I love my distilled stuff. But I've been seeing a lot of stuff about pasted barrels, beer barrel finishing and even flavoring with mash (Is that a real thing?) So how can I know I'm safe especially if there is blending going on. Is there any clues I should be looking for? Thanks guys!
I have always been a fan of scotch, especially Balvinie Doublewood 12. I'm curious, what are some whiskeys that taste different than there traditional style like a bourbon that tastes like a scotch or Canadian that tastes like an Irish whiskey?
Just looked up the mash bill because, as you know, Canadian Rye doesn't mean the same thing as American Rye. In Canada, someone got the bright idea of using Rye as a synonym for whisky...so many Canadian Ryes don't even have rye on the mash bill.I was pleasantly surprised to see that Lot 40's Rye is a 90% rye and 10% malted rye.Hmmm...I've stayed away from Lot 40, just because I have other things that are higher up on my list, but perhaps I'll look at snagging a bottle sooner rather than later. I'd hate for it to disappear again and miss out on something interesting.
As others have said, you should give Canadian Club 100% Rye a go. It's way better than it has any right to be and also doesn't have the overwhelming anise flavour that American ryes tend to have.
Okay I was sitting here watching this on the PC (usually watch on the TV), and when you (Daniel) were describing how you got into whiskey, You picked up your glass and I could swear I smelled Irish whiskey. I am no where near whiskey and (Ahem...at work) so that should be impossible. So I can see how your senses can be influenced by thoughts and stories. So odd.
Hey, gents! I may or may not live in a state that charges an exorbitant tax on spirits. My dad may or may not be staying in Austin for a few weeks on an extended road trip. Say these things were true and he decided to bring me home some liquid gifts from his travels, where would you suggest he go shopping in your fair city?
You need the 12 year cask strength version of this. Just pick up Masterson's 10 year rye or an older bottling of Whistlepig 10, both Alberta distilleries 100% Rye. You can go all in and pick up Lock Stock & Barrel 13, 16 and 18 year or the spectacular Hochstadter's Family Reserve 16 year Rye at 123.8 proof. All are Canadian Rye's bottled in the US.
Question in the vein of ordering whiskey neat at a bar, how do you feel towards the bartender prepping a glass without it being requested? I ordered Redbreast 12 neat at a bar, and the bartender had filled a rocks glass with ice and water while making another drink for my girlfriend, then dumped the water and poured the shot in it, while there was still some water dripping down the side. Do you think it's rude to prep a glass that way without asking, or is it more so a issue of the bartender doesn't quite know whiskey?
been trying to get these questions answered and so far no one really knows,,, 1) why is it that after some time in the bottle with air does whisky seem to change yet for some reason that was not the case when it is being bottled? hard to believe there was no introduction of air during this process of bottling when they crack open the barrels and let them pour out and mix with the air many times through processing before it goes in the bottle so how do you explain this?? 2) why is it a freshly opened bottle will always give me a mellow buzz after a couple drams but the next day after some air in the bottle it seems to lose this potency and im able to drink the same amount if not more and not get that buzz feeling no more??
Speaking of bartenders, took my wife to cheese cake factory a last week for dinner. They had a bottle of Macallan 12. Asked for it neat, came in a cocktail glass that was still hot from the dishwasher. Needless to say I didn't drink it after a few sips...
I first got drunk when I was two- on gin. The first whiskeys I remember are Old Quaker and Seagram's 7, when I was ten my parents let me make myself a 7 n 7 anytime I wanted. Then there was High School. I was living with an alcoholic- Jim Beam, 2 bottles a day, and it really put me off whiskey. Then there was a toast at the Dwyer's house, I told them I didn't like whiskey, they said it's a toast, I said OK, and they poured everyone some Tullamore Dew. I downed the toast and the strangest thing happened, there was an electric tingling going on in every cell in my body, I felt like my hair was standing up! I stared into the glass in amazement. Everybody saw it. When I recovered and looked back up, there was Danny Dwyer with a big grin hoisting the crock and saying, "Want some more?" I said yeas and the entire room laughed, including me. I am part Irish. Damn, I didn't know my body would recognize its own like that. It was a revelation. Later in college I bought a bottle of Glenfiddich single malt, it was freaking expensive- like eight bucks a bottle! And the best whiskey I ever drank. It was the start of a great thing. Now the American single malts have me excited, I feel it's the beginning of something incredible- the best of the Old World and the New smashed into all new shapes. It's a great time to be alive.
JP Wiser's has a 35 year old Canadian on the shelves in Canada. perhaps you know someone who can collect a bottle for you ($165C). It's a limited release but here are a few bottles around still.
You say someone should give a whiskey some time and sit down with it before you decide if you like it or not. With that being said are there any whiskies you have reviewed that you went back to and changed your mind on later? Or are there whiskies you want to give second chance?
I've heard it mentioned a few times on the show and in the tribe that when you get down to the last ten to twenty percent of a bottle of whiskey (aka a "whiskey heel"), it's of course time to put it out of its misery and finish the bottle before it "goes bad". I have a bottle right now, in fact, that's pretty low and I've definitely noticed it tastes different, and not exactly for the better. Is there a term for this change? I've seen the words "oxidation" and "dissipation" thrown around in my google searches, but isn't there more to it than that? Is there no traditional term for it, similar to "angel's share" and "devil's cut"?
I know this is an old review but damn I just picked this up and I was pleasantly surprised. Glad I could try it watching my two favorite jackasses try it. Cheers fellas!
Great info on how the channel developed. I was reminded of Alan Alda's memoir Never Have Your Dog Stuffed where he explained the first Scientific America show he researched the subject vigorously as he would an acting role. The producer had to explained to him that was supposed to ask the questions that the audience might ask and to stop researching altogether. So now Alda mooches scientific knowledge from actual scientists. While Rex might mooch whisk(e)y, it does add a great dynamic to the videos. You can add Rex and Daniel to the likes of Laurel and Hardy, Lewis and Clark, Martin and Lewis, Abbott and Costello, Salt 'n Pepa, Batman and Robin, Penn & Teller, Cosby and roofies...okay, scratch the last one. You get what I mean. Sláinte !

UnboundOdysseus We Canadians are actually really unfriendly, we're just polite about it.
Amen
"Hockey arena" careful guys, think he's a spy...
We need to loose the geese on them.
FINALLY! a great canadian whisky. we all love lot 40 up here, glad you guys were able to get a hand on this
Glad to see that you guys reviewed a good Canadian Whiskey! We have plenty more up here so don't be shy. Also, we keep all the good stuff up here because although we are polite, we are damn selfish when it comes to quality. Cheers from the North!
i heard we send the bad stuff like canadian mist to the us and we do not actually have it for sale in canada is this true?
I have been waiting for this video since I started watching the channel.

Finally a canadian whiskey yoy can get behind. Maybe if you guys want to try the rest of our amazing whiskeys, you should take the show on the road.
Glad you finally got a chance to try Lot 40! I love the stuff and was praising it in the comments ages ago. It is weird that Canadian whisky distribution doesn't push very hard for the U.S. market.
Some stuff is only made for the American market. But it's mostly crap. :-)
Because we drink it all so it does not leave the country to the states or anywhere!
I know you guys aren’t to big into rye’s but if you guys did a segment on rye it should be called RYE-day Friday’s! Love the videos!
Love the fun you 2 have on camera. This is what enjoying good whiskey is all about. Telling stories, making friends laugh and reminiscing on memories.
Thank you for bringing me into the world of whiskey im for England and love what you guys do
OMG Finally!

Shit, that's it. That's the Canadian I'm looking for to use in my upcoming Houston tasting. If I can find it. THANKS!
Gordon Atkinson It is really easy drinking, definitely one of the better ones coming out of Canada.
This is one of my favorite RYES!!!
I'm so glad that you reviewed this one! It's my favorite rye and I was hoping you would like it. I just got the cask strength version and it is.......challenging

Stupendous. The 2017 release (12 year old, I think), is amazballs.
Missed out on the cask strength last year. Waiting eagerly for this year
Getting the CS is nigh impossible though
YESSS! It's UNREAL. One of my favourite whiskies IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. (Specifically the 11-yr release)
That was my entire story as well. My drink was Dr Pepper with cherries
the 'orange ball' that you're thinking of is probably Wassail, spiced/mulled cider (made with an orange stuck with cloves)
yep!
I've never tried the other one!
Brett Cloak-Gentile where are you seeing the 2012 editions? 20% brings it close enough to the cask strength that it's definitely not worth it
From what I've heard, the 2012 (it will say on the label) is a rye & barley (?) blend, in homage to the original. The ones developed after (I think by Dr. Don Livermore) is a pure rye whiskey. Prices vary. #SharingisCaringCanada
When i refer you guys to people i always say its a whiskey genius and an off the street whiskey enthusiast and you get the nerd opinion and the everyman opinion and thats the dynamic that makes this show great
that is a great description!
Really good review guys!!! I cant I agree more as I sip this whisky and watch this video!!! This is a great fall and winter whisky!!!
Cheers!
Daniel, the spiced orange ball is meant for mulled apple cider or wine...
Whisky can't really go bad, just evaporate over years. Particles due to low filtration is a GOOD thing. hope you dig it!
Whiskey Vault 🤙 shoots!! That’s good to hear. Thanks for the quick reply.
Entertaining Review! Love Rye!
Cheers from South Africa 🥃
Is that "Mooch" or frequent flyer miles?
name the bar Will
Corner Bar Smethport, PA
Got a quick question for you guys... I’m searching for a whiskey that is salty or briney without the peat smoke. I’ve done the peat and it’s not really my thing, but the savory notes you talk about when describing the brine in whisky really appeals to me. Any recommendations?
Maybe Bunnahabhain 12?
And The Laddie from Bruichladdich
Spingbank 10 will answer your prayers. Or Oban 14
This is my favorite rye period. Glad it continues to get props.
i love hearing about the behind the scenes and history of the channel
Daniel, obviously Rex has learned a lot from you over the course of 300(?) videos, what level Som could he pass as?
Make the orange ball on whisky biscuits
Also I have a question for Daniel. How do you get people into whisky? I love whisky but my friends don't drink it, I offer but it but they politely decline.
I was just at a "whiskey bar" in KC that did that exact thing to me!!
I'm from the land down under, have you guys tried
eviewed any Australian Whiskey on camera?
We have! a few.

Awesome! Thanks for the links. The beginning of Episode 89 has got me already haha ...haha...haha. Love it. :-D
I have always been a fan of scotch, especially Balvinie Doublewood 12. I'm curious, what are some whiskeys that taste different than there traditional style like a bourbon that tastes like a scotch or Canadian that tastes like an Irish whiskey?
Hey, Daniel. You have been talking about you playing music and stuff. Are you on spotify or something so i can check it out?
danielwhittington.com
Hey Daniel, do the snossberroes taste like real snossberries?
I've been meaning to try this one. Had it recommended to me a few times recently.
You guys gotta get your hands on the Canadian Club 40 Year! Pulled the trigger on it myself! $219 CAD.
Gotta get that Cask Strangth - Also, you should check out some of the Pike Creek releases, specifically the 21yo Oloroso.
Wait till you guys try the 12 year old cask strenght version of Lot 40...........minds will be blown!!!
Dan! Full Volume states distilled and bottled on the bottle (1999-2017) is that not the age? You stated it was a nas last vid
Nice Fez shout out, "I said good day!"
How many videos have been made where Daniel states "ohhh,....ohhhh" that tells me this is gonna be good. nice review.
These 2 guys are a Rye-iot.
I'll show my self out now.
Nice one Garrett Rye-burn.
I....I regret this.
When Rex reads this
and just like that the Tribe has 2 open spots
Do you think it's rude to prep a glass that way without asking, or is it more so a issue of the bartender doesn't quite know whiskey?
been trying to get these questions answered and so far no one really knows,,,
1) why is it that after some time in the bottle with air does whisky seem to change yet for some reason that was not the case when it is being bottled? hard to believe there was no introduction of air during this process of bottling when they crack open the barrels and let them pour out and mix with the air many times through processing before it goes in the bottle so how do you explain this??
2) why is it a freshly opened bottle will always give me a mellow buzz after a couple drams but the next day after some air in the bottle it seems to lose this potency and im able to drink the same amount if not more and not get that buzz feeling no more??
Guess I know what my next Rye is gonna be! Currently on Jim Beam Rye and meh.
Speaking of bartenders, took my wife to cheese cake factory a last week for dinner. They had a bottle of Macallan 12. Asked for it neat, came in a cocktail glass that was still hot from the dishwasher. Needless to say I didn't drink it after a few sips...
You guys should review Stillhouse. I’ve always been curious on that just by the canister it comes it. I can only assume it burns like hell.
Where can the glasses be purchased? Thank you.
#chadweek
I'm not giving up. Make it happen.
JK Kross would #chadweek be all live streams so he doesn’t have to edit?
Even if you have to watch Daniel “act” again??
Daniel wood well i suppose!
Bridget Farraday worth it!
Is there a way to locate local whiskeys online? I always end up driving around to shops or calling.. ?
Not in the US. Damn state law variations make it almost impossible.
I just polished off the last drop of my bottle. Already miss it so much, I'm searching UA-cam videos of it.
for being a "mooch" Rex' s descriptions of whiskey are very detailed!
I had to wait until 5 to watch the video because I wanted to enjoy a glass with you gents. Cheers!
Oxidation is it. You can call it rusted whisky if you want.
"Rusted"... that's clever. I like it.
Sláinte !
You should re-visit this now that you have warmed up to Ryes in the past year-ish.
So, what exactly is your necklace for and what is the story?
The cask strength version is great!
Lot 40 gives me a crazy strong flavour of raisins or prunes. Think of it and try it again ;)
