Not positive, but, it's almost guarnateed that they went w/the cheapest bid.......Flippers/Investors are notorious for this.

Yes! Bad contractors LOVE to paint. If it was up to them, they'd paint before cleanout/demo is even finished.
I wouldn't want to buy a flip house. I actively avoided any that looked to be or were advertised to be "recent remodels." No fucking thanks!

I guarantee this guy didn’t hire a Legitimate contractor to do the work. He probably hired someone off the street and said yes I can do that for as cheap as possible
I was thinking $75k to 100k but it's Detroit so maybe $20k goes a long way. I'm on the east coast . I wouldn't even bring my tools into yhsg neighborhood for less than $100k .
I’ve been building and remodeling houses for 25 years. I hate to tell you. But you have a lot more than 20k worth of work left.
It still looks like an abandoned house.
Buddy that's a big job probably 75 to 100 thousand dollars and maybe they are working across the street because that house has heat you can't mud and paint in 0 degrees

Reputable contractors don’t work with home flippers or investors ……it’s impossible that a real contractors was hired in this house.
Just because something was just redone doesn’t mean it was done right. Always get an inspector that you nor the real estate agent knows. It may be tough to find and may cost a little more but it’s worth it. You’ll thank me later. You don’t want an inspector that’s your buddy because he thinks he’ll be doing you a favor and you don’t want him to know the owner or the agent because he’ll be doing them favors. You want to know exactly what you’re buying. Good and bad points. Home warranty doesn’t cover everything like you think it does.

Detroit? I can only imagine who these contractors were. Just what type of labor force is left in a city that has been largely abandoned? Burned down, torn down, who would remain to work on the leftovers? Anyone with any sense and skill would have left years ago.
That was probably 100,000 dollar job and he paid the contractor $20,000. And that’s what happens when you take the lowest bid

Contractors probably walked off because its sub zero , lol. You said yourself there is no furnace and you can't feel your fingertips, haha. Yea Contractors love to paint because when stupid homeowners see paint on the wall , then they cough up more cash because it looks finished, lol. It's all psychological.

this is all the fault of the owner. You should be on the job every other day checking on progress and quality.
I hired a project manager to do just that. Unfortunately, I hired the wrong one. These guys should not have been getting paid for the work they did. I'm managing all of my projects now to avoid this.
Why does none of the fault lie with the contractors who got paid for the work though??

If that’s a rental then that’s not too bad but if that was my personal house I’d rip all that drywall off EVERY BIT and start over
