As a former professional hairstylist, I know that "some" clients enjoy the different conversations being held by us. Some are here for the service but the vast majority enjoy our different conversations in the salon. It's a release from their stressful or regular lives. Some of my former co-workers and myself would have the salon cracking up with our shenanigans and stories, plus it just made our environment much more pleasant. Because we spent more time with each other than our regular families.

The words you spoke just brought me to tears. I really needed that encouragement. I am a new hairdresser and just had my first client that was so upset about the outcome of her color correction. I almost wanted to quit altogether. I have been in such a depression and not wanting to go back to the salon. You just reminded me that there is light at the end of this tunnel. Thank you 🙏

i felt like quitting too when this lady had a bald spot and i couldnt cover it because if you want volume you dont use conditioner on top but she insisted and the result was no volume
It has been a year since your comment and I hope you are doing great now. I made the mistake of actually giving up and changing my profession after a few bad experiences straight out of college. I am an estate agent now but I truly wish I would not have let mean people get me down. I love doing hair and get to do freinds and family at least but it takes time to get to a place were people cant hurt you with there negativity.

Guy, I love watching your videos because you are so open and personal. It's the main reason I stopped going to the salon before Covid-19 hit, I noticed how impersonal my Hairdressers were. They never talk to their clients (me included) and look at me as if I am rude for talking to them, when I try to. So I would rather risk cutting and coloring my own hair at home, than suffer boring, and rude hairdresser. So, keep being open, honest, and personal, we all love you for it :D (kiss kiss)

He has such a sweet personality too. I met him & attend his shows in Beauty world Dubai 2017. Everyone was after him to get pictures with him. All were lined up in a queue.
I took pictures with him & again I went back to the end of the queue to wait and have more pictures.
When I reached him back he remembered me, he smiled & ask "you are here again for more pictures".
It was super crowded. I was shocked when he remembers me.

I just reopened my salon...and after lots of prayer I knew I did not want to name it after my name. I started to use the hashtag #REVIVALMODE on small post about my future project (beauty salon). Simply because coming from the #shadows I found myself in a constant revival mode. So, after much prayer I came up with my salon name, SALON REVIVE! i love your videos it shows you are human and your technique i feel is so advanced sometimes hairdressers get so nit picky and i have been in the business since 26 yrs old and now i am in my 60's and i cant tell you how many times the managers or other hairdressers get bossy and say you have to do things there way or your out and i dont know how many jobs i had to leave because of there bossy ways but you showed me you can do balayage with colour and although i am older i will keep looking for nice people like you to work with

Hi Guy Tang, I love these videos! This might make you cringe but I'm actually a professional henna hair colorist in Santa Barbara, LOL! I just added an organic hair color line so I get more freedom to play, watching the videos I've been able to tie in henna and hair color with lots of discernment and its been awesome. Learning different foiling techniques and tying in different colors, its been so much fun for my hippie clients! They can finally look cool!
