  • Today we bring out some of the Hornady Heavy Magnum Coyote 12ga 3" 1.5oz lead BB shells and put them to the test at 40 yards through the Remington 11-87 and a Patternmaster Black Mamba .690 choke. We definitely saw some interesting results from this combo, so stick around and see how it performs!

Get some coyote targets. Great video

I really need to make a coyote style template for tests like this. The Birchwood Casey coyote targets would work, but they aren't really a good life size representation like the templates are

I normally deal with them using 3-1/2” federal turkey load #4. They don’t go 20 😊

I have a bunch of that ammo stored. It doesn’t pattern anywhere nearly as well as the case of federal classic lead BB ammo out o my .670 kicks. Still good enough though. I’ve read and seen photos of the lead plated BBs Hornady uses in them is super soft as well.

I normally use either kicks .670 or .680 in my beretta’s for lead and HD BB ammo. One or the other always puts out a really good 60 yard pattern. Another good video!

I suppose I need to find some of those Federal BB shells to test out and see what I can get out of them

@@matttyreeoutdoors I used to order them from Natchez shooter supply for $29 per box of 25 in 12 gauge. It’s a 1 7/8oz load. There was also a 10 gauge version for $10 more per box. I don't remember the 10’s payload but I have one box left in 10 I use for predator hunting. They discontinued them about a decade ago, it’s too bad because I think everybody that shot coyotes use that lowered just because it was the cheapest option on the planet. Unfortunately, discontinued it. I bought a bunch of the 12’s from a private party a few years back just so I’d be stocked up so i didn’t have buy a 12 gauge set up to reload.

@@tripplebeards3427 I'll have to do some digging around and see what I can find. There's a small shop near me that often has older or more obscure stuff, so maybe I might get lucky there, but we'll see what I can do
