The old woman hiding behind the wooden post is played by Orlando Bloom's mum! Oh, and I really hope you listened to Billy Boyd's (played Pippin) song at the end.
The older woman who chews out Alfrid for being a coward is Sarah Peirse, who also appeared in an earlier Peter Jackson film called Heavenly Creatures, which may be the best film he's ever made. You should definitely check it out. The actor playing Nori the dwarf also appeared in it. Every year around January, me and my wife watch through all six films in chronological order. It's something we always look forward to. There will likely never be another series like this again in our lifetimes.
And Thorin Oakenshield had his final redemption. According to the book, he was buried like you saw at the end, with the Arkenstone over the chest, and with his legendary sword Orcrist, the goblin-cleaver. In his farewell... I always cry. A true KING. PD: In the theatrical version, scenes like Thorin´s funeral, weren´t included in the footage. That was a real shame. We only saw these scenes in the extended version later.
The fact that Thorin starts to sound like Smaug is not a coincidence. In Tolkien lore, Dwarves and Humans can be affected by a _Dragon sickness_ that makes them irrational and even violent for gold and treasures. This was Peter Jackson's reference to that
love how Sauron couldn't figure out who had the 3 elven rings when 3 istari, the high king of the noldor and the daughter of Finarfin show up at Dol Guldur.
“you’re a crispy chicken”🤣🤣🤣 I love fried chicken btw. And thank you for pronouncing Smaug properly. Tolkien based his universe on Norse, Finnish and Welsh mythology, and Smaug is basically Norse. Most native English speakers can’t pronounce it which is ironic to me as English is in fact a Western Germanic language, and being Norwegian it’s super easy for me ro get the sounds right as we have them in Norwegian which is related to English. Old English was basically similar to Old Norse as it’s thanks to the Germanic tribes from what we today know as western Germany, Belgia and the Netherlands and the Vikings from Norway, and Denmark who invaded the British isles that English even exists.
Imagine you're an otherwise immortal Elf and then you die in the short fight against the Dwarves and have to be reborn and start all over again, when only a few minutes or even seconds later they would have become your ally.
The king has returned to the palace, under the mountain, under the stone. send him, to the depths of the earth, to eternal sleep under the mountain, under the stone throughout all the lands, let it be known the king is dead
The estimated size of Smaug's hoard is 1477 cubic (Cubic!) feet of gold alone worth nearly 55 Billion in modern American Dollars. The other valuables excluded... gems, other precious metals, items. So .... beyond the gold.... priceless??
Kinda random but you guys need to get on the DC universe so you can get to watch Justice League (Snyder Cut) personally my top 3 favorite superhero films of all time
17:00
And now Bilbo has possession of the Mithril jacket, The Arkenstone, and the One Ring.
Quite a haul.
Still can't believe people dislike this trilogy.
Because they doesn’t have heart
Not the best but still good 💯
Cuz they compare it to LOTR instead of just enjoying it for what it is.
bruh it sucks compared to LOTR
MapleFilms Edit is a solid 4hr Hobbit movie
The white council sequence is absolute perfection 😍

I love this trilogy. I especially like this movie The Battle of the Five armies. It's awesome and I like Thranduil and Tauriel. They're both awesome

LA had a Smaug problem in 1970 ;-)
Good afternoon gents
Afternoon Chris 😊
This should have been in two parts
Yes they had to kill Killi off he dies in the book. She doesn't even exist in the books they add her to the movie.
A lot of people hate it, some love it, but I think you should watch Rings of Power if you have Prime and see what you think of it
It is a great parody 😂
Just no
How that boy grew up so fast??? Are you feeding him yeast???
oh yes Mr Kev . lets go

Will you guys be reacting to Rings of Power by chance? I'd love to see your guy's opinion of it. 🩷 Season 2 has been amazing!
