Fiesta ST vs Abarth 500, which one should I keep?

- In this video, I need to decide which car am I going to keep, the Fiesta ST or the Fiat Abarth? I need your help to decide.

Keep the Abarth. Such a capable and underrated vehicle. Quick, quirky and rapid. Also we know your long going love for the Abarth. So the ST should go. It’s an awesome car but I would keep the Abarth anyday. And now it has the amazing interior updates. It makes the Fiesta look really old inside now ahahah
Hi Paul,I've put my vote in,I would keep the Abarth 500,the Fiesta to me is too chavvy in my opinion and everyone has them as a hot hatch,I do like the 500 myself and think they are a great car.Merry Xmas and New Year,all the best for 2020.
Please keep the 500. Very interesting and inspiring me to take a look at them myself. Much more diverse content than the usual ST, Golf R ect. (Not that they aren't interesting, just 'the norm'). Good luck with your decision👍

Sell them both before you get flashed by a camera lol. No seriously I would advertise them both and see which one sells first , sounds like they both have pros and cons from your view. I have always been like the moment they are all fixed up I get bored and want a new challenge I have voted and picked the right one according to the vote . I'm a fiesta st man so I love them and Ive loved watching the front end rebuild, the power from the st is enough for me to keep it over the arbarth

In the car trade everything is for sale advertise both at a good profit. However you are more set on the abarth so you should do what makes you happy. Personally when I was at it full time I drove the cars I had in the process of fixing and selling so really do not need to keep as such a car as always have something to drive. Keep selling and getting profit and moving forwards. I did vote but base on what you like really it was clear in the video and you got to have things that make you smile and happy.

Got to keep the one that makes you smile the most Paul. I worked for Fiat for 40 years and would never want to own a Fiat, i do own a Fiesta st and love it. It's different strokes for different folks

@@rickhammond7867 Congratulations fella, there is no right or wrong here, it's all about choice as i mentioned in my first post. There is nothing wrong with you liking Fiats, it's your choice but that does not follow that everybody should like Fiats. You have a good Christmas and try not to get too upset that not everyone wants to own a Fiat

Before watching full video your face said it all whilst in the fiesta there was a but before you finished asking the question? Personally I’d keep the Abarth definitely more fun and makes you smile just on the approach. Merry Christmas to you and your family xx.

My brother has a 2012 Abarth 500C, he`s a driving instructor. It had done 240,000 miles & only suffered 1 breakdown (thermostat capillary pipe clip breaking, letting all the water out) which I fixed at the roadside. Its had a starter motor & 2 alternators, & a couple of sensors go, but none of them stopped the car, they all gave him warning & gave him days to find replacements. The heads never been off, its never leaked any oil, & there's still zero play in the turbo shaft (swapped the cat to a sports cat at about 190,000 miles, the old cat was like new inside, as was the turbo, with no oil contamination), The only reason he's stopped using it is because the insurance wrote it off after a light rear ender (they valued it low due to the mileage). He had it back from them & Its now sitting on his drive waiting for me to repair it. He`s now using his 1.2 500C `by Diesel` backup car to teach in. I even got one recently, a 2012 Twinair Gucci, & I get what your saying about the driving position, they do feel like your riding "on" them rather than being "in" them & that does detract from the driving experience slightly, especially compared to my old Fiat Uno`s & Seicento`s, which feel like go carts, but the 500 IS still fun & has a lot of character! It's hard to drive any Fiat without smiling!
I`d keep the Fiat, but I`m obviously biased!
A stage 2 st180 does not need the exhaust straight through, i would agree with you on the springs
I would sell the Fiesta there are so many that are on UA-cam being done so I would keep abarth and do some upgrades that no one else is doing keep up the good work mate and merry Xmas to you and your family paul

HI Paul, completely bias vote from me having a fiesta ST myself, i'd like to see where you can take it. Something to look at if not already done is the symposer delete, that could help reduce the booming when stepping on the gas.
My 120 bhp two cylinder 500 is fun and when on 0.8 bar of boost even more fun especially for the power to weight ratio with the two cylinder engine

I have no idea what you decided to do...... I have always been a VW guy, last car was a MK5 GTI, lowered, induction kit, remap milltek etc..... I have traded that in recently for what I never thought I would do... a Focus ST MK3! Its decat, cobra exhaust, induction kit and remapped so on about 280BHP ( my GTI was at 240)
My partner owns an Abarth 135, standard wexecpt for a bluespark tuning box so its around 170 - 180 BHP... lovely to drive although basic, with m enow owning an ST rather than a German car and having driven the Abarth I would suggest getting rid of the ST and having a good play with the Abarth :)
I would keep the st as I love them car hoping to get my self one soon 😁

Me I’m a Ford man being i work for them and you would expect me to be biased but.... the fiesta is as common as muck whereas the Abarth is a bit of a special edition car so personally i would say keep the Abarth and sell the fiesta. That Fiesta will make a boy racer very happy. No disrespect but and older guy in a boy racer car isn’t a good image. Keep up the good work and have a nice Christmas 👍🏾
My opinion as I asked you in an earlier post if it was a keeper.. keep the fiat as that is where your heart is. That is important in making a great project car! ;-)

@Chris theres a lot of st content on UA-cam, this is one of the first abarths I've seen on here and in my opinion I'd like to see more content on it.
Advertise them both first one to draw the cash will decide , difficult month coming up January usually quiet with credit card bills dropping through door after christmas spend .
And maybe uprate the suspension on the fiat ,it's up to you,your the boss !😀
Tough choice I have a fiesta st and love it. But I can see that the fiat is a great car as well I am a 51 year old so I am a old school boy racer then as I love how harsh the ride is and the noise the car makes. I would keep the fiesta as you have more boot space. But what you choose you can’t go wrong.

Fantastic video Paul as always but I thought you said in a previous video that abarth was for your son mate I would keep it as much as I love ford I mean I’ve had nothing but fords for the last 20 years in my opinion keep the abarth mate but it’s got to be your decision and i think you went and got your r8 didn’t you hahahahaha keep up the great work mate

why not test the st against the 180 competizione, with performance pack? Bit more of a match up in every way, and still sound loads better. I've had both, Abarth wins out.
Paul - to be honest keep the Fiat. Its a better looking car in a good spec. Don't see in my eyes that it needs to be modified but each to their own.

The fiesta will work perfectly fine with any 2.75" and above exhaust with any variation of boxes/resonators, you could just buy a backbox and swap it out

If I had to make the decision it would come down to whichever one would bring in the most money that's how I would do it more wonga = more project's or a step closer to the R8. Both very capable and good looking car's I guess for you it's a hard decision. But if I had to pick one I'd keep the abarth.
Keep the Abarth maybe a wrap and hybrid turbo. As many say Fords are so common and you've got love for the Fiat.
Sounds like you've made your mid up Paul on the Abarth! I say get rid of them both and keep the channel fresh and churning new cars.

Keep the Abarth. The fiesta has run its course. You fixed it as you set out to do and its had its day. The Abarth will give us more content but to be honest I would rather see you get into fixing another one from scratch
The Fiat is a fun little car, but the build quality is not comparable to the Ford, that said I’d change the exhaust, or have a resonator fitted into the existing exhaust, it won’t make any difference to the power

Paul I think that you should sell the fiesta but you do a lot of driving to your work and for safety the ford would come out on top.

I would keep the Fiesta and change the exhaust back to standard, I feel it would be a safer car in the event of an accident. Just saying!

Keep the Abarth. The Italians know how to build a pocket rocket , it looks the part both inside and out .Ive never been fond of fords because it seems you see those everywhere and everyone has one .

If I were you I would sell fiesta, finish garage project and then sell abarth, ooor advertise both cars and sell whichever get sold first as you said categorised cars sell longer, so this might help you a bit.
Abarth all the way, not because its better, but you dont see as many on the roads, ST's are usually Boy racers first choice so have a huge stigma, as a chavs car, plus there all over the place 😅 lol, I got the Abarth after much self debate on the fiesta St line eco boost, but there not all that unique, plus the abarth has some charm and you feel it every time you drive it, problems just melt away. 🙃

Keep the fiat the fiesta is old hat and nearly everyone on the road is owned by a 19 year old .The fiats got rarity going for it and it’s probably faster then the st which isn’t anything special

Get the Abarth up to 180/190bhp and they feel savage
Normally i would say keep the fiesta and get rid of the fiat
However in this case i personally dont like how heavily damaged the fiesta was and that plays on my mind if i were to keep it. The fiat looks lovely and wasnt smashed to bits. Just my opinion

I think you've answered your own question. Power isn't everything. The 500 you can build the way you want it with the parts you want. It's a blank canvas. The St is already done. Keep the 500 and make it yours they way you want.

Keep the Abarth, it's got more character than the Ford. Granted, it's not as fast, but with a few mods, I'm sure that could be addressed. The suspension and the exhaust would do my nut in on the Ford too.
Both great cars but if you want the power then keep the ST, but if you like the fun factor then keep the ABARTH.
If you sell the fiesta ,you need the get the welding put right before someone drives it

I think different age groups will choose one over the other. The Ford is more of a young uns motor,unless you sorted the suspension and exhaust to your liking. The abarth is different and quirky . I do not see as many abarth's and I think you like the fiat more,as you fitted the new android system and digital clocks. Keep the fiesta if do the changes,if not stick with the abarth

abarth is more special to me then fiesta. I flip st an mod abarth alongside project 2020..
Keep the ST put standard springs on and sort the back box out you don't need it removed for stage 2, I'm a bit biased but try filling the 500 with IKEA furniture or an engine and gearbox and still having a laugh on the way home 😉😂

Get rid of the abath not spacious uncomfortable keep the Ford you have the reliability put the stock exhaust back on and put a little higher and softish on it and the fiesta is more spacious and comfortable and put the stage 1 tune on and put the newer steering wheel on and out of the 2 the fiesta is way better you get the reliability compared to the Italian reliability and plus the abaths exhaust sounds like a fart box
