In the original, this relationship felt a lot more one sided, where Ashley is clearly crushing on Leon. On this game, with Ashley more mature presentation combined with the voice acting, it feels like Leon reciprocates her flirtiness a lot more. I tried to cut together the main story arc involving them both, including the main story plot with some flirty interactions they had. Hope you enjoy!

Definitely a lot of flirting in it but it is much more implied then direct. Stuff like wanting to have Leon in her detail, wanting to be an agent and be a team with him etc. It is like a young woman in love but too shy to tell it directly, she even ask him almost directly about his relationship with the girl in red.
The ending even reminds me of the old trope in James Bond movies, usually the Connery ones in which rather then reply to his bosses and answer the telephone he just bangs the main girl of the movie.
Now this is not what is implied in this ending but I still find it funny nonetheless.
The one thing missing in this video is Ashley during the mini game shooting gallery, she literally sits on a barrel and watch Leon shoot shit, this is what girls do with their boyfriends.
At the end the level of flirtiness is through the roof ngl. Their facial expressions and body language speak a thousand words. The good chemistry between them even raises a smile from Leon here and there. Just lovely ❤

Not really. It never went beyond him caring about her as his charge and her, a little bit of a damsel's crush. A flirty or caring line here or there does not constitute any substantive "romance" development. Mostly just wishful shipping thinking!
They really redeemed Ashley with this remake (story wise). I actually WANT her to come back in a future game now.

Leon was obviously want stay with her, because if he didn't consider her a woman who doesn't like him and doesn't attract him physically, he would never have flirted with her, he would never have been so affectionate, because his way makes it clear how much he is closed and in his because of everything he experienced in RE2. He jokes, but very little. For the most part, he is serious and decisive, even too rough, but he is all attentive and affectionate when he meets Ashley, obviously he did not expect to feel anything other than finding her beautiful, but he also made it clear that he enjoys her company, otherwise wouldn't have praised her at the end of the game saying she was strong and knows how to take care of herself, because she faced her fears to free him from that trap, and it messed with him, so much so that when she is captured again, he gets three times as much gun for because of the concern he feels for her, and when he is with Luis talking about the effect of the suppressor against the Plaga, he is looking at the injection and thoughtful, and when he tells Luis that the priority is Ashley, he has a distant look , clearly thinking about her. And all this is clear to anyone who wants to accept it, because it is very obvious that they are attracted to each other and the way she cares about him, is affectionate with him and also wants to protect him, already makes it clear to him how much she cares for him. And then Ada's bootlickers are talking a lot of shit, because they don't want to accept that Ashley is a woman and not a teenager in this Remake, and they are also angry because Leon has become a real mature man to the point of not feeling it nothing for a lying woman who kissed him just to manipulate him to get what she wanted. Leon never had any reason to love or like Ada. He respects her for the skills she has, but this talk that he loves her because of a fake kiss is over. Leon became a real man and was very cold to Ada, dumped her every time she came on to him, and glared at her with hate when she told him to leave Ashley. There she proved once again that she doesn't deserve him to feel absolutely nothing for her, for being a tremendously selfish and manipulative person who uses her body and beauty to try to confuse Leon, but that ended, because he's really mature and he's not likes lies, and not to be used. Ashley clearly deserves his love and concern, and he demonstrates this throughout the game. So at some point people will have to swallow reality. 💁🏻♀️🤣🤭❤

@@MoniqueSouzaMHS you actually brought up so many good points. Well done. It is exactly as you said, this remake Leon is fundamentally different from the Original RE4 Leon. This is because in the RE2 Remake(which is the origin of this new Leon) they made sure that "characterization" for our main characters was proper and DISTINCT! You see in RE2 Remake Leon was the Young Rookie cop who was naive and easy to manipulate. And the game made that very clear with their cutting edge cinematics, voice acting and the character portrayal overall. Notice how this was not possible in the ORIGINAL RE2 because of limited Hardware capabilities of that time! And so OG RE4 Leon was similarly, a successor of OG RE2 who was NOT very developed as a "character". But this time its different. This Leon is the successor of the remake Leon who is distinct, has his own preferences and values.
@@MoniqueSouzaMHS idk if you have noticed but this is why this new Leon was very nonchalant about Ada in this game which was honestly a breath of fresh air. As a great man once said, "If its not genuine, then I don't want it". Leon knows Ada is just going to use him again if he let's her. He now feels like a real human being, he wants genuine people to stand by him, not fakers. Honestly proud of the remake writers who put so much thought into each characters personality. And I don't need to say a thing about Ashley you already analyzed her super well and as you said these idiots can deny all they want but Ashley is TOP Wife material this time, she is the type of girl you take home to your parents to show them.
Leon pretty much worked with badass RE female characters like Claire, Ada, Ashley and Helena. You love to see it.

That was actually one of the things I was hoping for in this remake. That Ashley get a complete personality overhaul. She’s not a spoiled brat with an annoying voice, she’s actually a 20 year old college girl who is afraid for her life now. And she’s a helluva lot more useful in some scenarios.

She acts way more real and human in the remake than in the original. In the original she was just that annoying stereotypical damsel that i did not like at all.
I know nothing beats the original and i still love it but the remake really did the job and i appreciate it.
The biggest improvement from this remake is that it actually made me care about Ashley. I despised the original Ashley with every fiber of my being.

I've always think that they're the best couple of the saga, they're healthy and cute, their chemistry is more than others couples that you see (I'm talking about LeonxAda or LeonxClaire), they trust a lot eachother... they're a team and at the same time they look romantic, they're amazing together.
I'm hoping one day see more of Ashley in other RE games and see her alone or with Leon, she's an amazing character. If not, I prefer Leon with Claire, even if they don't have the same chemistry than LeonxAshley, they're a lot more healthy than LeonxAda xd

I think the reward for getting 5 stars in Mercenaries will now be the PRL Megaman Cannon instead of the Handcannon. They nerfed the handcannon here and doesn't do 99 damage now. The true God weapons will be RL and PRL.
It doesn’t look like the PRL is in the remake. But getting S+ on all maps with every character is how we get the RPD uniform now. Getting better at Mercenaries in turn made me better at RE4R, so much so that I’ve gotten all of the accessories unlocked afterwards.
