I have both, sure the Apple TV is beautiful. A lot of options, a lot of storage, user interface wins hands-down. My problem with the Apple TV is that it constantly buffers, and the picture becomes grainy and blurry repeatedly. Swapped out for HDMI 2.1 cables, same problem. Returned the Apple TV thinking it was defective, swapped it out for an exchange, Same issues. Purchased another TV in bedroom, same problem. Extremely frustrating. Never had any issue or any glitch whatsoever with the Roku ultra. As far as picture quality, I don’t see any difference between both. Both offer outstanding picture quality. As far as features, Apple TV, hands-down. For stability, Roku ultra is ROCK SOLID without a doubt.
The Ultra lt supported Dolby Atmos but not vision. It's great that the Ultra has it. It's the biggest selling point imo. Wel that & the rechargeable remote
I have the Roku Ultra for a long time, but I used it on an old LCD TV. Now I have an LG OLED HDR, and I'm so disappointed with the Roku Ultra. HDR movies look terrible even after adjusting the settings. When I connect my 2018 iPad using the Infuse app, the HDR movies look AMAZING! I'm planning to buy the Apple TV 4K, but now I'm concerned that the quality might still not be good. I might end up using my iPad with the Infuse app.
Just an added note, tho must already aware, the latest Roku Ultra 2024 (for $100) offers Bluetooth, so no more earphones, simplified by plugs, and my Apple earpods work great
@@VaughnMcGregor My parents have androids and dropped their Roku for the Apple TV 4K. Even without an iPhone its still a better experience than anything else
I have both ATV 4K (2021) and ATV HD and also Roku HD. Compared to ATV HD, the Roku HD is very slow and the UI is quite busy. Nevertheless, both do the job very well on an old HD Sony TV.

I have the Apple TV 4k. Worked well but after 4 years it lost connecting to Wi-Fi. I researched and it looks like Apple doesn't repair them. I'm looking into getting the Roku as a replacement. I did try the onn streaming device from Walmart for $20 and after two weeks it also stopped connecting to wi-fi.
There is another thing the roku will beat apple you can screen share both iPhone and Android on roku apple TV won't let you do that I switched to android now I have to get rid of my apple TV
I enjoyed my Apple TV until I upgraded to an LG OLED C2 television and discovered ATV is incompatible with it. If anyone has a solution I would love to hear it. The TV will not recognize the HDMI input.
Roku will need to up their game. Apple TV’s UI alone is way ahead and everything else is so much better. The Roku loses in every single category. Except the price category. My first few Roku boxes became obsolete is just a few years because the apps were no longer update. Apple keeps updating theirs for a much longer time.
the stutter is something normal in oled tv. To solve it you have to change truemotion to natural. apple tv is the best friend of oled tv, only apple tv can play the content in 24p in any application, which roku cannot
Apple TV is great 128 gb. Disappointed, the 2023 model, no longer gives you a charging cord for the remote. At this price point, Apple should provide the cord to its customers. So, look out if you’re buying this item. You’ll need to spend an extra $10 and purchase a cord.
Roku is only good if you’re in the USA. If you really want a better experience, you might as well pay for the Apple TV. Roku I had to install a DNS on my router vs Apple TV allows me to do it within the settings. However, the overall experience is a lot better than Roku . Plus I have IPTV so it’s like watching a regular TV again with more features

You can turn that off just like any other device.
That USBC port looks awfully similar to a Micro USB port on the ROKU remote 🤔

So ATV was constantly buffering for you, yet you changed the HDMI instead of checking your internet connection :)) Not the brightest are you?

buffering is a sign of slow internet connection. I've never ever had my apple box to buffer but of course I'm getting over 400mps
Huge plus for apple tv apart from anything else, ability to install a VPN
I have a roku tv. To me roku is too limited in what i can do with it. I'll stick to my android boxes. They are wide open.
Roku streaming devices are good enough for me and less expensive.
Isn't Dolby Vision on the Roku Ultra 2022 new? I don't believe older models supported it.

Roku makes my viewing experience very simplistic and navigating their system is a breeze. The Ultra was my best electronic purchase by far 👌🏾.
