- The Minister's Cat is a party game featured in the movie "Scrooge." The game requires each player to attribute an adjective to the cat, starting with A, and working through the alphabet. The Minister's Cat is a featured card in The Christmas Game -- www.the-christmas-game.com. This video shows how to play.
"There is never enough time to do or say, all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have. Remember Scrooge, time is short and suddenly your not there anymore."
When I first heard that line as a boy I didn't understand what he meant. When I got older after hearing it again I understood what he meant and he's right, and will always will be.
"The Ministers Cat" it would work today as a party game.
my absolute favorite Christmas movie of all time. Albert Finney is amazing as scrooge. I have been watching this movie every Christmas since I was a little kid. This scene with Scrooge is so powerful at the end and the message about time being short is a good reminder every year to keep things in perspective.
One thing I love about that movie is how they show Scrooge having fun watching them play it's true to the novel
_The Ghost was greatly pleased to find him in this mood, and looked upon him with such favour, that he begged like a boy to be allowed to stay until the guests departed. But this the Spirit said could not be done._
_“Here is a new game,” said Scrooge. “One half hour, Spirit, only one!_
Such great acting in this scene. The blocking, pacing, enunciation, intonation are all perfect.
Family guy brought me to here
UA-cam GAMER same lol
Me too
lmfao sameeeeee
Same
Same
My family plays this at Christmas!
Cool!
My mom used to say that people should still play this fun game! Good to know that some people are playing it! 👍❤️
So does mine. My father implemented it a decade ago 😂
0:24 - Its Mr Hudson the butler from Upstairs Downstairs, played by the wonderful Gordon Jackson here.
I like this game!
I needed this, and here it is. thank you so much. The minister's cat is a helper cat!
Very fond and happy memories playing 'The Minister's Cat' on Boxing Day a couple of years ago with several friends in our village. The kids loved it too. What a stark contrast to today's games involving a bought item and usually technology of some description. Will be doing the same again today!
A nice mix there of both star and character actors
Yes, Gordon Jackson is in this scene. Mr. Hudson on Upstairs Downstairs.
The confusing thing about this scene is that Scrooge says that Fred's mother was Isabelle. But if Fred is Scrooge's nephew, his mother would have been Scrooge's sister, Fanny -- not Scrooge's lost love, Isabelle.
I don't think he was saying Isabella was his mother I think he was saying Fanny remember him of Isabella.
He was saying Isabel reminded him of his sister a little bit
Or is his wife Isabelles daughter?
I think Scrooge is remembering them both: first Fan, then Isabel. Fan is Fred's late mother. Isabel, had things gone right, could've helped Ebenezer have the kind of life that Fred has now--or, help Ebenezer create a family of his own.
gotta love the only ghost that took a nap on the clock
Spirit Of Christmas Present- Ha ha ha
Scrooge- You find this amusing?
Spirit Of Christmas Present- Believe it or not, he likes you!
Wait there's more to come!
What did I tell you?
I’ve seen this movie so many times and I didn’t even remember this scene. I actually came here from family guy
:( R.I.P., Albert Finney.
I try to watch a new Version every year. I start early as I cover as many as I’m aware of. Reginald Owen
Alister Sim
And onward. I watch quite few.
I always thought Scrooge's nephew was named Fred, at least that what I read. Where did they get Harry from Idk.
i grew up with good ol' al =))
That Poor Minister's Cat....I wonder if its aware of all the name calling they are calling it?
It's sad that more people today are familiar with Family Guy than one of the classic films in history. Philistines.
I like several of the versions of the story but I really like this one the most
Well if the film was any good from the perspective of people today, then maybe people would still give a crap. I hated this movie as a child.
“The minister’s cat is a n...oh no no...”
🎄
Op scrooge just saying.
2:23
Family guy brought me here
Im Alan from bob cat
Family guy was half right. I do hate it. But I also already knew about it.
Family guy is why I'm here
the minister's cat is a racist cat
Over-acting - unrealistic! I much prefer George C. Scott's version of Scrooge.
The whitest game I have ever seen xD
It does require a quick wit and at least a decent command of the English language😁
Yeah things that require good grammar, very "white"
