  • On this Episode I'm going to replace the OEM air filter with a K&N on our project bike, 2015 Ducati Scrambler classic. I show step to step how to do it according to the ducati maintenance manual. This also apply to all the other scrambler models with an 803cc engine, the sizes might change but the steps are basically the same.
    The Scrambler is finally in tip top mechanical shape, so let the fun part begin, it's time to start customizing it.
    I hope you guys enjoy and thanks for watching.

    Ok, I need all my English speaking subscribers to help me come up with a synonymous word for nipple, cause when I refer to "spoke nipples" "drain tube nipple" etc. UA-cam flags my videos as non advertiser friendly. More heads are better than one. Still funny though.....

    3:56 Hello, nice video 🤘. I also have a Scrambler motorcycle. There is a leak in the plastic box where the air filter is located and where the discharge hose connects. What is this, I wonder? Will it cause me big trouble? What can I do? I used translate while writing these. I hope it was understandable. I would be very pleased if you express your opinion.

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  10 місяців тому +1

      That might be the breather hose, if you see a little bit of oil, it's normal, there will be more if you overfill the oil. It should not be a problem

    Hello Albe, I have a 2019 Ducati Scrambler 1100 and I believe the access to the air filter is more complicated. The oil cooler is right in the front of the air filter box. There is a bolt at the bottom of the oil cooler that I believe will allow the oil cooler to pivot away from the air filter box. However, I'm wondering if the Oil cooler tubes will be in the way. My Scrambler access to filter is not like your video. Any suggestions? My owner's manual only suggests taking the Ducati to the dealership for servicing of the air filter. Seems like it should not be that complicated.
    Thank you,
    Sean

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  4 роки тому

      Hi Sean, there has to be an easy-ish way of doing it, after all, the air filter is a consumable part. Unfortunately I don’t have an 1100 on hand to try myself or even a manual, so I don’t think I can be much help

    The bike is beautiful, but it is a pitty that in order to perform basic maintenance jobs you must to unscrewing half of the bike. this happens in order to desing a bike from an engine, and not the contrary.

    Hi there, thanks for the vids, they are very useful. Was wondering about the pros and cons of switching to the KnN filter. Other than having a washable filter, are there any noticeable performance benefits? A little more power? Better power delivery? Or any issues? Less smooth power delivery? Should one do a remap? Is this filter more useful with aftermarket exhausts? Thanks.

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  7 років тому +4

      +greggusan the pros are that the throttle feels more responsive, you gain a little bit of power (not much) especially if associated with an aftermarket exhaust, I think it runs a little smoother too. The remap is not necessary, I would do one only if you install a complete race exhaust. I haven't found any cons yet. I hope this helps.

    • @greggusan
      @greggusan 7 років тому +1

      Thanks for the reply. I've gone ahead and ordered my K&N filter, and will install it with the help of your excellent video! Thanks for making these and look forward to more. By the way do, having spent more time with that Remus exhaust, what do you think? What other mods are you planning? Any thing that might eek out a little more power? (if that's even possible..) Would you need a ECU remap with that exhaust and filter set up? Suspension upgrade? Cosmetic mods? Oh and one last question if you don't mind: Where do you find the torque values? Thanks again and keep up the great work!

    • @AlbesADV
      @AlbesADV  7 років тому

      +greggusan thank you for watching, I think the Remus is a little too loud, but other than that is pretty well built, I'm planning to install a few protections, like crashbars and so on, and a few cosmetic mods, the remap is not necessary unless you use a full system and want to get the most out of it. Possibly I'll do some suspension mods depending on budget and power wise, maybe I'll tinker with the sprocket to get a faster acceleration. If you do a search for maintenance manuals there is a PDF version floating around with the torque specs. Ride safe.

Anyone experience this? I have a aftermarket exhaust and booster plug, but only after air filter change dis I notice it.
