Happy New Year, guys! I love these videos, as they're informative, edited very well, and provide a variety of content for many to see. Keep up the fantastic work and here's hoping 2018 will be even bigger for you both and the channel!
While I have missed more regular RGB episodes, the content you guys have put out this year has been of the highest quality, and I've loved every video. Happy New Year guys and keep up the awesome work in 2018.
To be frank, you guys have been one of the best UA-cam channels I have discovered in 2017. It is cool to see detailed guides on how to set up a classic console; especially as somebody from the UK which means having to deal with PAL limitations which I am shocked that you even have amazing info on that. Thanks for helping me find ways to properly enjoy my old consoles even with modern HDTVs
You guys are the second "greatest video game show in the history of human civilization! " and you better believe that. Thanks for the videos! Bithead1000 would be proud.
Man 2017 was just amazing for modern games. -Danganronpa V3 -Yakuza 0 -Yakuza Kiwami -Breath of the Wild -Mario Odyssey -Resident Evil 7 -Xenoblade 2 -Persona 5 -Nier Automata -Nioh And more to name.
Hey hosts, great channel. I hope you'll read this comment as I have an idea for a great and needed RBG master class episode. You've done a lot on getting the most out of retro video, but what about sound? After all, many PVMs lack speakers, and also the slow emergence of analog Dolby surround in the 90's for gaming. Or knowing if 16/32 bit consoles even take advantage of subwoofers, or getting surround out of mono/stereo with modern mods etc. etc.
Happy new year from the UK, guys! Hey Coury, about SkyGunner, Do you have any advice on how to get good on it, because I want to enjoy it like you did, but it's way too difficult for me right now.
Thank you for everything. My wife and I make it a ritual to watch the live streams every Sunday. Please keep up the good work and have a great New Year.
Still haven’t played a Bonk game. They did say these are games you should NOT rush through but instead take your time correct? I need to try that Shinobi too! Nice!
The NES, and Gameboy ports are a nice place to start off the Bonk series, and seriously the NES port of Bonk is one of my all time favorite games for the NES with the great laid back sound track, and something I don't feel I have to rush threw like a Mario game(bonus stages have a time limit but with a turbo controller they are no big deal). So if you come across copies at a good price do check them out, and if not emulation is not a bad thing in my book to see if you really like a game before spending money on it.
Man, i envy you for finishing Persona 5 so quicky, i started it since launch and just today i was playing and reached 170+ hours. This is the year of the backlog to me, not because i got into it, but because it exploded with new games. I use backloggery too and will try to use it to my benefit in a way to focus on just a few games at a time.
I have this and the original and prefer it a bit more to be honest. Difficulty is a little more balanced and I find it easier to keep track of things...that said it's amazing that this PS4 release happened because it's still on par (or better to some due to more characters) with the original and vastly more accessible.
Your channel is awesome. Just started checking it out. You got me to order Monster Boy Cursed Kingdom. I was unsure when I saw that it was heavily puzzle based, but after seeing all the action and great looking gameplay was sold. Im assuming no Xbox One physical copy so went with PS4. Also got me wanting to try Legendary Axe again, Gates Of Thunder for turbo duo and playthrough the more punishing Super Mario Bros 2 on famicom disk. I only beat the allstars version many years ago. Great hardware breakdowns too. Catching up on these videos now. As a heavy player and not collector, I really like that you play these games heavily and go into alot of detail. Keep up the great content
Any xenoblade fans here? I felt Xenoblade 2 was one of this past years biggest semi-hidden gems. As far as open world JRPG's go. That game checks all the boxes. Fantastic music, Memorable characters, an amazing world to explore, a deep and interesting lore, an addicting combat system. I've heard it's been selling well but it still feels kinda obscure? idk. Maybe it's because it came out after mario odyssey, a lot of people were still focused on that one.
Don’t you guys dare apologize for “lack of content”.. the stuff you guys put on in 2017 is legendary. Some of the best stuff I have ever watched on UA-cam. You keep doing what you do and I will keep devouring the content
I am still wondering around breath of the wild, working on beating it. but I was able to beat 55 games last year! very happy about that. Thanks for everything you guys do. No rush, just keep up the awesome work.
Thanks for the great videos this year! In 2017 I played through and beat: Baldur's Gate 2 & TOB (PC) Legend of Heroes 2 (PSP) Jeanne D'arc (PSP) Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (DS/3DS) Alundra (PSX/PS2) Mario Kart 8 (WiiU) Super Mario 3D World (WiiU) Uncharted 1 (PS4) I'm currently 30+ hours into both Rogue Galaxy (PS2) and Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentina (3DS)
LOL what about FF7 all the sega & playstation titles like halo.... nintendo just uses what ever type of game is newsiest & makes that super Mario 3 was one of there important ones
Yeah, that perfect storm you guys had for Zelda must have been amazing. I can only imagine how fun that trip was working during the day and playing together in the hotel. Good times!
Wow, Cursed Castile looks great! I have it on the Xbox One, but another in the backlog. Looks like a tough completion achievement wise. Still waiting for Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap to get cheaper, it's only been about 33% off I think on the One, love the Monster World games. Definitely agree about Ori and the Blind Forest, that game is a modern masterpiece in my book. About 25 hours into Zelda :BOTW myself, taking my time and quite enjoying it.
Thanks guys, your channel is one of my faves for this topic. Keep it up! You helped me get some of my favorite systems working beautifully on my modern tv setup. HiDef NES (first mod project, and soldering project ever), snes mini RGB through an upscaler, digital audio out from that SNES, and a gamecube with HDMI our for all my fave GBA games. Cheers!
According to my Backloggery page, I beat 35 games, and completed 63, though of course I had 324 new games added, so that puts me at -226. Though I've never gone through a year with a positive number. So many cheap games to buy. Big fan of both Backloggery and this channel!
Ah yes! These two guys are what we call "video game enthusiasts!" They just enjoy playing "video games" regardless of the platform. Love you guys!!! Fantastic vid!
Enjoyed this look back on not just the games released in 2017, but what you experienced! I'm coming up on my 10 year anniversary on my backloggery account and I really enjoy looking back at the log at all the things I accomplished over the year in gaming as well.
Happy New Years, and looking forward to what you have coming in 2018! Thanks for the hours of entertainment from watching your videos and spreading your knowledge
the SNES Wild Guns is still better in terms of difficulty balance and scaling. I prefer the original slightly overall, but if you aren't aren't looking for a full SNES collection, its a great substitute. It feels like an expansion or new game+ to the original.
Patiently waiting for 2018's completed backlog games video. This video got me to sign up for backloggery.com hopping it will really get back into my collection.
Try is *SUCH* a massive nintendo fanboy haha. "The n64 controller is the perfect controller for the future" ... it looks like a fork and you can't use the joystick and the left shoulder button at the same time..
Great video and great selection of games. I had never heard of Cursed Castilla - and OMG a fantastic sequel to Ghost'n'Goblins ! Thank you for educating me ! I bought it the same day !
Anyone who hasn't played Tales of Symphonia is missing out and the thing is with the translations 90% of all the translations to English are usually bad if you watch an anime at you watch the dub you're not going to get the correct story because English voice actors like to addlib and they're very bad at it they have no idea about the character and their Bad actors in general if you compare them to the Japanese voice actor the Japanese voice actors always win hands down I wish that the English voice actors would go on strike again so that we don't have to pay them anymore because they're bad at what they do Dragon Ball Z is a perfect example if you watch the English version you think Goku is a hero but when you watch the Japanese version his real character comes out which just proves my point Goku is just like King Leonidas he's just looking for his next fight and his next person to destroy he doesn't care if it destroys his family or the planet as long as he gets to fight I do know why though in Dragon Ball which actually comes before Dragon Ball Z Goku is dropped on his head as a baby which explains why he's so stupid and here's the thing I don't even like Japanese people but I do acknowledge hard work
Another great video from a great channel. This video had a special touch to it that's hard to explain so I won't try. I am looking forward to what's in store for 2018. Nice work!
Wild arms reloaded looks interesting. But judging from the footage, I'm assuming there's no gyro aiming. If so, that's a shame. Cause I think that addition would make the game play so much better
Completely agree with Corey here Once I've decided to buy a games i ignore the flood of information we get. Harder to stay away from it now a days but makes the experience so much better IMO. It's also easier to form your own genuine opinion this way.
I bought the original castlevania 1 2 3 and 4 cartridges this year for the nes and snes this year. I played 1 and 3 as a kid but were too hard and never ever played 4 before. 4 was so great. I couldn’t believe I never played it before. I was able to beat 1 and 4 many times but 3 was too hard and gave up and didn’t like 2 at all. Great series.
You guys do such a fantastic job. I dont have much time for gaming these days and everytime i watch one of your videos it somehow gives me that same feeling of playing videogames when i was a kid. Wonderful stuff!
You guys don't need to apologize. Your content is of so much quality that I wait with a sense of respect and wonder at each new video. Thanks for your hard work
Nothing says I am a adult man living in my parents basement playing video games all day like referring to 'Summer Vacation' as if you were still a child in school lol
You may be interested to know that Castilia started life as a freeware PC game. It was also one of the first free games released on the Ouya shortly after launch...
Great video guys it’s always interesting for me to see what people are really playing and why. Can’t wait to see all the new content you guys have in store.
Your videos are always so high quality.Deserve way more subs than 80k.
Light Yagami 100% agreed. They should be on Hulu or Netflix easily.
My only wish is that you guys get 100k subs in 2018! You deserve that silver play button!
Mine too !
Ikr. It's mindboggling how they can't have 2mill+ subs while screamers like Pew have 15 and do nothing productive.
Make it 200K, they more than deserve it. Happy New Year :)
Wow, I just realized this channel is criminally underrated.
Yup, saying that it has grown substantially in the last year, I think by this time next year it'll be around the 140k mark
Awesome episode, guys, and great year of amazing content! Keep up the great work!
Happy New Year, guys!
I love these videos, as they're informative, edited very well, and provide a variety of content for many to see. Keep up the fantastic work and here's hoping 2018 will be even bigger for you both and the channel!

The cover photo to this kinda has me on edge. “Games we enjoyed in 2017” and then we see Spryo the Disney Genesis games... huh?!
I was expecting this video to be about switch games and stuff that came out in 2018, and in fact it was way better !
Glad you gave my favorite purple dragon some love. My guess is the 2nd one in the trilogy will be your favorite.
Once you realize how much Try sounds like Tom Hanks you can't watch these videos without thinking about Tom Hanks. 😁
Nice to see the support for Bithead1000 with the T-shirt! Great recap video of the games played this year!
To be frank, you guys have been one of the best UA-cam channels I have discovered in 2017. Happy new year guys, loving the bithead1000 tee👍
Haha, that BitHead1000 t-shirt!! Rock on
1:05 dat Bithead1000 shoutout. Good, he deserves more traffic to his channel.
Awesome bucket list games for 2017 guys. I really look forward to what you come up with in 2018. I hope DOOM is on the list.
Awesome vid as always guys! Appreciate all the time and effort you put into everything you guys do.
All the best for the coming year!
Happy New Year guys thanks for the top notch content as always.
Thanks for the shout!
You got a like from me just for the BitHead1000 T-shirt
Me too.
You guys are the second "greatest video game show in the history of human civilization! " and you better believe that. Thanks for the videos! Bithead1000 would be proud.
This was awesome. Happy New Year !
The fact that it is us, retro game video makers that mostly love bithead says a lot about the guy. He is a genuinely funny and cool guy. Good people.
Nice bithead1000 shirt!
As of writing, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, it is 4 hours and 52 minutes to 2018.
I'm a simple man. I see a new My Life in Gaming video, I upvote.
"You have the games, play them!"
Sounds like something your wife would say. :)
Man 2017 was just amazing for modern games.
-Danganronpa V3
-Yakuza 0
-Yakuza Kiwami
-Breath of the Wild
-Mario Odyssey
-Resident Evil 7
-Xenoblade 2
-Persona 5
-Nier Automata
-Nioh

ah well I tried
I love the knowledge you guys bring to the table... Very informative stuff...Its the small details that count ..Aplus...love that bithead!!!
*This series is AMAZING! LOVE the honesty & high production quality!*
Bithead1000 tee shirt! Great channel!!!
Happy new year from the UK, guys! Hey Coury, about SkyGunner, Do you have any advice on how to get good on it, because I want to enjoy it like you did, but it's way too difficult for me right now.
Nice Bithead tee, Coury!
LOVED this video. I had never heard for a few of them, thanks for the buying guide!
Thank you for everything. My wife and I make it a ritual to watch the live streams every Sunday. Please keep up the good work and have a great New Year.
"You know I'm super naked. Mama wets. On my own." Great song!
You guys are awesome!!! Please do How to get the best picture from Wii
Brahim Ruño I keep asking for this myself.
lol. with component cables silly. nothing hard about that
Ay that wall of console boxes is pretty great Try!
Persona 5 was definitely my highlight of this year. It was amazing enough to get me to go back and play Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 FES
Oh and Persona 4 Dancing All Night became a guilty pleasure of mine and I'm extremely hyped for the two sequels next year
Still haven’t played a Bonk game. They did say these are games you should NOT rush through but instead take your time correct? I need to try that Shinobi too! Nice!

The best theme music ever. I want the soundtrack!

Best part of wild guns reloaded, physical copy for PS4 is very affordable and not insane.
Ryan Amberger digital it is even more affordable.

Always a great show to watch. Production value is the best l have seen on youtube. Excellent content and highly informative. Thanks
This video gave me too big of a nostalgia kick for something called "The Games We Enjoyed in 2017".
Among all the things I like about you guy's channel, it's that intro/outro music that really impresses me. There's just something about it 👍😊
I bought the original castlevania 1 2 3 and 4 cartridges this year for the nes and snes this year. I played 1 and 3 as a kid but were too hard and never ever played 4 before. 4 was so great. I couldn’t believe I never played it before. I was able to beat 1 and 4 many times but 3 was too hard and gave up and didn’t like 2 at all. Great series.
and I can relate to the ffxii remaster. i completed 100% in game and trophies, my backlog was stand still for 3 months.
Stupid cop game...but an underdeveloped cave boy with encephalopathy beating things with his head is top notch X|
You guys do such a fantastic job. I dont have much time for gaming these days and everytime i watch one of your videos it somehow gives me that same feeling of playing videogames when i was a kid. Wonderful stuff!

Fantastic episode and fantastic channel. Here's a successful 2018.
interesting, this doesn’t look like RGB 211 to me!
I love your channel! Been here since you had 4 digits subs.
Have a great 2018!!
Nothing says I am a adult man living in my parents basement playing video games all day like referring to 'Summer Vacation' as if you were still a child in school lol
Love this channel can't wait for more videos congratulations happy new year!!!
Glad you guys made this video, these will be fun to look forward to at the beginning of each new year! Thanks for all that you two do!
Metroid: Samus Returns was my game of the year. I didn't play a whole lot this year.
Best channel on UA-cam. You guys love gaming and are UNpretentious.
You may be interested to know that Castilia started life as a freeware PC game. It was also one of the first free games released on the Ouya shortly after launch...
Guess I’ll be the one to say it, now you’ve doubled your subs from 2 yrs ago. Congrats!
Great video guys it’s always interesting for me to see what people are really playing and why.
Can’t wait to see all the new content you guys have in store.
I love to see people that can enjoy classic games just as much as new games in 2017/2018
Fantastic episode. Thanks for the effort you’ve put into 2017. Looking forward to more from you in 2018. Happy new year.
I don't think there is any other channel on UA-cam that makes me want to play games more than this one. Thanks guys!
“Local only though”
Huh? My brother and I played Wild Guns Reloaded with a coworker using PS Plus screen sharing. He didn’t even have to own the game.
The fact that your channel doesn't have at least 100k subs is a crime. Keep up the great work!
Hi I just got the switch and already Zelda breath of the Wild is my favorite game
Can't wait to see what you have lined up for 2018, yinz are the best!
I could for real listen to that theme of there's all freaking day. It scream nostalgia and adventure etc.
Ys 8 is on the switch now! cool that means I get to play it (cuz all i have is a switch and a gamecube)
So GameGear and PC-Engine are the next RGB episodes, aren't they?
