Ikit is annoying, but wood elves, especially their settlement battles are a nightmare. And don’t even get me started on Orion shooting your artillery from across the map as soon as you start the battle
Do people really struggle with wood elves? I find they're on of the easiest armies to take on by far, they have basically nothing good in their entire roster.
As if fight Skaven wasn't bad enough, Ikit is here to rub warpstone dust into it. The nuke, warp lightning, and menace below are so much fun to fight against.
I was fighting Chaos Dwarves in my later stages of my Yuan Bo campaign, their Dreadquake Battery army ability was the same, 45s after battle started, spot on. So if someone hates fighting them, you can bait it the same way as Legend or usually there is enough time to dodge if you are playing with pause.
If you have unit summons, and your army is hidden in foliage, you can supposedly just summon right on top of the enemy and they'll nuke their own forces. I haven't tried it before, but with CA's record I doubt it's patched.
Picking this video to type this because it's the most recent. For me? It's not the fact that Legend is a really good player. It's the fact that he's extremely descriptive about WHY he does EVERY little thing he does. I love that. I'm such a sucker for methodology and dissecting video games. It's a big part of why I went from playing on Normal/Normal to Very Hard/Very Hard consistently.
Well it was nice and nostalgic but probably cost him a lot of money compared to not saying it. So yeah better don’t, given that this is job. But yeah I guess the (online) world has changed.
The thing with Ikit is the micro in battles is absolutely ridiculous. Look away for a second and you've killed 20% of your own frontline(Skavenslaves and clanrats not included as casualties) while the AI has no problem instantly avoiding such situations. You'll have some fun battles yes but the further into an Ikit campaign you get the less fun you'll have even when winning. Skaven weapon teams are extremely good in auto resolves but due to how units "lead" their targets any aoe weapon team will hit you more than the enemy. Doomwheels and Doom-flayers can disrupt enemy lines but when used are the main reason micro is constantly needed. Heroes are overall the best choice for tanking but adds even more micro. And i'm speaking from personal experience both fighting Ikit and playing his faction.
@@iain-duncan Still causes friendly fire due to them leading their shots, it feels like skaven and chorfs(blinderbuss ones) love shooting alled units in the back of their heads regardless of your formation. So the 2nd volley doesn't hit your own units, the chorf BB unit is an exception to the 1st volley being safe due to their low range and although they have decent melee stats having them at the front is extremely risky Also shooting skavenslaves will never be boring therefore i shall keep putting them infront of the guns
@@mr.gandersson2835 like you said before, skavenslaves don't count ;) I tend to run a formation with long thin melee groups forming funnels around ranged blocks. Claw is tough because of his army. But Craventail is the toughest skaven lord to beat imo. When controlled by AI he is probably the second toughest melee lord to face in campaign after Vlad. His 90% wardsave keeps triggering from any shot (even though the description EXCPLICITLY SAYS that the ward save is activated by melee only, thanks CA). I tried dwarves in WH3 once and they still suck against skaven in any settings be it siege or field battle. I got bored with Craventail constantly coming in taking like 80% of the whole effort in battle to kill. He is a skaven version of Vlad. At least you can kite in field battles, in siege setting he is literally unstoppable with that broken ward save.
Actually I like it coz AI doesn't play Ikit properly and you can bait the nuke hidding units on the forest I farm his tech passive with Carcassone, Sartosa & Orion pretty often since I don't let him expand
Is Fireball better than Burning Head or Flame Storm for hitting specific targets which have loose formation spacing? It's certainly cheaper and kills seem more likely.
Mostly depends on the entity count. Fireball would be better than burning head against monstrous infantry, I imagine. But Burning head and flame storm are able to hit so many more entities at once than fireball is, which increases the total damage they deal by a ton. Fireball's AOE isn't big enough to be worth hitting small entities, usually.
Personally, I dislike armies that get a big "Fuck you, I win" button. It forces auto-resolve and makes the game less fun. Looking at you Azgorh at turn six
I think they’re okay when rare, as something the player can enjoy, so it a good option to have. Player can always choose to not use them. I won’t lie, I get serious endorphins from dropping a PERFECT nuke. But yea, if every faction had them on every lord, it’d get old fast.
