      where do you buy the redolence scent?? im looking for a replacement for da sauce. a lot of times i can't really tell if its working or not... but the spray caught my attention. seems way more convenient to apply.
      i liked how it got all those minnows to get triggered lol

      REDOLENCE is my go to, but I am partial because we developed it. If not Redolence I would be going with a PRO CURE or MIKES.

    Appreciate the information, in both parts, and taking the tips to the ice today.

      @DH B it was a tough day. Fished from 10-2 and got 6 whitefish. No Burbs or lakers. Going back Sunday but going early!

      @FOX FISHING 4K The couple I was fishing next to went 1/3 on whities. My nephew and I marked them but couldn't get a bite. Did manage some perch onto the ice, and still have a serving of burbot from Wednesday.
      The whities were active up until noon yesterday but most prevalent from 830-10am: so getting out there early today is a good idea. Don't forget ice anchors.

    What knot do you like to use for your top hook?

    • @FoxFishing4K
      @FoxFishing4K  Рік тому +1

      I use a polamar hook. You basically just making a drop shot.

    Hi, would size 6 mustad wide gap octopus beak hook 'red' work because it's wider ? Why do they like size 10 -12 hook? I know it's just 2 size bigger at size 10 from 6 but is it gonna make a big difference, and can you explain why?

    • @FoxFishing4K
      @FoxFishing4K  Рік тому +2

      The size 6 would work as well. We are constantly trying to go more finesse. Next year, I may even be running 4lb test for these fish. Is it needed NOPE, but I do believe it helps with the number of fish landed.

    Hey Kevin, I am constantly snapping my bottom jig off when I land fish on the high hook. When I pull the fish out of the hole, the bottom jig snags on the bottom (underside) of the ice hole. I only use 8lb so when it snags, I end up snapping the line! I've only caught about 7 fish on the high hook, and I have snapped off 3 jigs! How are you avoiding not getting the bottom jig snagging on the bottom of the ice hole??

    • @FoxFishing4K
      @FoxFishing4K  Рік тому +1

      Keep a shorter distance between high hook and bottom jig. If you measure the ice thickness and keep the space less than ice thickness, the bottom jig will enter the hole and stay there. If there is too much space, your jig is below the ice, and as the whitefish moves its head, you're almost guaranteed to hook thst ice.

    How far to you run the high hook from the meegs

    • @FoxFishing4K
      @FoxFishing4K  Рік тому +2

      Personally, I don't run a meegs anymore due to losing too many fish from broken hooks. But the distance from jig to high hook would be relative to how active the fish are. If very active, I would do 2 feet or more. The more shut down the fish are the lower I go. I don't go below about 12"
