As a Pioneer prospect, to hear “Honda went cheap on the shocks” is a concern for me. I am not a mechanic- I buy Honda and Toyota products because I believe and know from experience they have been higher quality in parts, fit, finish, and mnfr tolerances. What I’ve heard twice now in the 2 vids by you, is that I need to reconsider my purchase decision. You sound like you know from where you speak. Do you have an axe to grind, know better than Honda Pioneer engineers. Or in fact the quantity won’t be what I expect from Honda? Thanks, Tom in St. Louis
Have you considered General XP or Maverick/Commander shocks considering the Rmax shock backorder? They have roughly 14-15" of travel on their 64" wide machines. I am on the verge of dumping my Pioneer 1000 because I can't drive over 25 mph on the trails without blowing through the suspension. If what you are doing ends up working..........I'd be extremely excited.
@@MudPuppyOffroad love the pioneer platform and need it for the bed and 5 person option. See some awesome stuff a texas tough. If I was to throw 5 grand at it specifically for ride quality increase what would you do?
@@MoreRockLessStocks I don't have any experience with their long travel kit. In my opinion the Pioneer had a decent amount of travel already it is just sprung very aggressively to do work
I mean you could say fuck the rmax shocks and get long shocks or coilovers and mount them through the hood and have all the up/down travel you want. If you put the rmax shocks on the front through the hood you won’t ever be able to reach full down travel. We have some rzr fox shocks I might put on our p1k to just see
Hooray educational videos!
Don't lie to me everyone hates my educational videos

Yes I'm looking at getting some general shocks right now
The jack the extension on it where you get it
Ebay
elka can make you custom shocks based off the extended and compressed lengths measured for max travel. radflo can do the same with 2.0 coilovers
Much much cheaper to buy rmax shocks
@@MudPuppyOffroad im not sure they are depending on what stage you buy. i believe you used to run them years ago on your bikes
Whats the most budget friendly way to increase ride quality for bumpy trails?
Buy a can am or talon. The honda fox shocks are a decent upgrade but not game changing

You may want to checkout 814 suspension. They make custom adjustable shocks for Honda Pioneers. A trail series and a 3 way adjustable.
@@markflaugh2293 tried them before, junk
Also. We need to see a mud puppy gator tail
The R-max is quite a bit wider isn’t it. 67” ? Obviously that will affect full travel
63 vs 66 def relivant
63 vs 66 def relivant and similar wheel offset
Of the 8.5” of front travel how much of it is down travel?
About 2 in
But this thing is brand new it's starting to break in and sag more
Whatever came of the R-Max shock swap?

Also, wtf were you riding at the end of the video haha
Duck/mud boat
That’s called a redneck dreamboat
Can t wait to see this lol
“Not a ton of travel”
Not as much as competitive model.
Is that “Honda cheaped out” to you?
Its $7k less than an rmax genius
