I'd be very interested in a video on what types of brush strokes and marks you use for foliage and other landscape scenes! I think the hardest part for me when painting trees and bushes is that I'm unsure of what brush to use and what small shapes I should be making to make the foliage look convincing.
Try daubing about in a random way with the side of your brush. It should be held as horizontally as possible. Start with your lightest color and dry. Next, do the same with the medium color, then your shade color where appropriate. This technique works nicely for most trees. Also, create thin branches and twigs using the handle of your brush. I use a pencil with the lead broken off. Anything with a thin point will work.
Im a dabbler, never really got technique down or could sit still long enough to do more than a single layer on a painting. I’m on my second pink tree, and I’ve been watching your videos and I’m feeling a bit more confident. Thank you so much for these tutorials!

-Think silhouette -Determine where your light source(s) is/are situated --> don't forget trunk! -Go back to your lighter tone and add some texture --> don't forget trunk! - *wait for the previous layer to dry* unless you're looking for a muddy texture - Gradually change your paint color while you put it on the canvas to add some color variation
