I have no doubt that there is no ultimately explanation for reality. It simply is, and no matter how many layers you peel back, there will be more layers.
@@TheBruces56 I wasn't thinking that when I wrote my message, but eh, why not? In our understanding of reality, something has to proceed something else. Something just existing, IE something without a cause or a beginning, doesn't make sense to our brains. Unless you are religious, but even most of the religious people I've talked to about this can't accept that everything just exists and happened by random occurrence, so they need an all powerful creator to explain it. I find that idea a bit strange, because you've decided to accept that same fact about your creator that you can't accept about reality - God just is, but the universe can't be. I also think it's possible, even likely, that we just aren't intelligent enough to understand any "higher" concepts of reality.
pfftt... the universe owes me for observing its existence and making it real... the fact the universe evolved intelligent life to observe itself is irrelevant... lmao

THere is no way around it. That's why modern science mostly disregards consciousness as something emerging from brains. It makes things a lot easier for scientists to simply exclude it from any of their observations. lol
Yup... That's why I believe in God. Because it takes a CONSCIOUS OBSERVER to make the wave function collapse. Therefore if no one was there to witness it, the universe NEVER would have existed to begin with.
@@timothyjade Fundamental Consciousness is SO far beyond our comprehension that the word "God" is insufficient to describe it's scope. You can't imagine a universe or any existence at all, without consciousness. Consciousness is the building block #0 of reality.
@@timothyjade Actually, it doesn't. It simply requires interaction, whether observed or not. For that matter, the "collapse of the wave function" doesn't arise naturally from the actual equations of quantum mechanics; it's simply declared, to make the theory fit everyday observations. The "many worlds" interpretation does away with it altogether, asserting that _all_ possible outcomes occur, even though we only see one; the others are observed in other timelines by other versions of the observer. In the original version of this idea, the other timelines were supposed to be completely unobservable--just as is the actual "collapse of the wave function in the Copenhagen interpretation--but more recently the successful demonstration of quantum computing, which depends on at least momentary creation of alternative timelines, has suggested that a modified version of "many worlds" may be correct.

Uncertainty is caused by our sensing and measurements method. To locate an object we use light that carries information about location to our eye. If the object is big the light is not able do anything to its location but if the object is small, light hitting the object gives it an energy that change its location or movement and than goes to our eye with the information about already changed state of the object.
That is indeed true. By mere observing the matter we are actively interfering with it, changing it and “manifesting”, on a large scales insignificantly, on quantum scales fundamentaly via photons and their interactions with electrons and protons. I believe this might partially explain this phenomenon.
Yes but it is a mathematically specified theory that predicts this collapse of the wave function - meaning they probably got the speed of light wrong. The speed of light is absolute zero with respect to a vacuum that exists and is located by photons whose very extent is in inverse proportion to their energy-mass: They massively pinpoint the vacuum (such as cosmic rays) and oscillate only in time.
It does not change the fact that a "conscious measurement" of it should not cause it to deviate its behavior in any shape or form. But it does. Your assertation would not explain the double slit phenomenon. Our measurements should be the same regardless of whether or not it is consciously observed before, during or after observation. The razors edge or point of criticality when a particle collapses is inseparable from the moment of conscious observation and forever will be. It's actually quite simple. Life is a quantum computer program. We are all actually dead and exist only in a quantum computer. These lives are all the projected possibilities or all possible combinations and outsomes of human life. Reincarnation refers to this autonomous machine as well. An endless cycle of death and rebirth. We are all the same conscious entity exploring near endless possibilies of the SAME thing.

Science remains a beautiful journey of discovery, yet it only scratches the surface. Quantum mechanics whispers of a world far beyond logic and measurement, hinting at mysteries you cannot measure with instruments. Reality isn’t simply 'what is observed'; it is also what is not observed. To reduce it to the measurable alone is to make it hollow, to turn existence into an equation, forgetting the living presence that permeates all things. Remember, existence is not contained by mind; it moves through the uncharted depths that even quantum theories can only glimpse, not grasp.

Us trying to understand quantum mechanics is like fish trying to understand radio signals or airplanes . I believe quantum entanglement is a signal being sent outside of the space and time we observe.
@@mitseraffej5812 right. But I doubt fish understand much about the world above the water line. It’s safe to say a fish doesn’t understand how say cellular communication works. That’s my point. I don’t know if we will ever be able to understand the quantum realm if parts of it exist outside our reality. The thought is fascinating though
We live in a reality of opposites, meaning that for every concept you can put forth, it’s opposite exists. This applies to even that which we consider to be fundamental ie the fundamental laws of physics. So therefore, even the fundamental laws that govern the universe must have it’s opposite existing and some level or degree. This is why we see the laws at our level of experience being countered by a different set of laws at the quantum level.
What does this mean? When you think about doing something but don't do it, somewhere there is a version of you who did do it? So basically there is a version of you out there living the whole damn dream

95% of everything shared here is beyond my level of understanding, but for the mere fact that I find this type of information fascinating & intriguing, I will continue to watch & listen, and just say... Mind Blown!
Anything observed from a distance or not observed at all is less defined, in the quantum world its just the same, the harder you look the more defined something becomes; that is the outcome. If you look at maximum resolution, there can only be one outcome. Just like focusing a microscope. For me this seems intuitive and I wonder why other people get so wound up by it. Also I have never real got Shrodingers cat experiment. The cat always knew if it was alive or not therefore the outcome was already determined. The cat is an observer just like a human. Maybe I'm just not bright enough to understand.
Shrodinger himself invented the cat in the box paradox...not to describe quantum weirdness, but to make fun of the idea! He believed, as did Einstein, DeBroglie, and Dirac...that there was a deeper reality we hadn't discovered yet. Even Feynman hated quantum weirdness.
You’ve asked exactly the right question: what constitutes an observer, and what constitutes an observation? Quantum theory is an incomplete theory because it leaves these concepts undefined. Replace the cat with an amoeba; can an amoeba be an observer? Is literally everything an observer? Then isn’t everything being observed always?
The thing about physics, is fun for casuals so they can think on a philosophical level and those casuals can come to an “explanation” all they want. The hard part isn’t the “I believe this is how it works” the hard part is the ACTUAL physicists doing the experiment. The ACTUAL results showing different outcomes with different observations, and to understand how that applies to the real world. Science is easy to sit around and theorize about, the scientific method however is actual performing good experiment and verifying that hypothesis over and over. I cringe when I see these comments. You don’t fully grasp the complexity of the situation. You understand it merely on a philosophical level and get to have fun talking about it. But none of what you said f ing matters. Go out there and apply your thoughts and do something with it. What you said is no more useful than when the early philosophers thought the base elements were water, earth, air and fire. Just a casual sitting around acting a smart and saying “oh that’s easy, that just how it is, why is it so hard for people to understand”
@@duc2133 I think the key is to focus on the fact that a person watched a science video and liked it enough to engage in science discussion in the comments. Then take that interest to the next level: “What is an observer? Can an amoeba be an observer? How might we design an experiment to test that?” It’s good that everybody here likes to talk about science. Success!
I’ve often wondered since learning about the quantum realm if we (our universe) could be a quantum or cellular piece of some larger entity, living or otherwise. I agree that someday we may find some sub quantum matter that is even stranger. But maybe greater size also behaves in ways we can’t see. If our universe is just a tiny piece of something larger maybe what we understand as physics or reality doesn’t behave the way we expect just like at the quantum level.
I wonder if electrons and other "particles" in the quantum world appear "fuzzy" and in a super position due to higher dimensions that we dont see when we measure it, but the procsss of measuring it reveals its attributes in the 3D space at that time of measurement, but the rest remains hidden.
1) If matter is made of quanta, then quanta is not matter. Matter is made by non-matter. 2) if everything we know is through senses, then science is an extension of our senses. 3) If we only see what the senses tell us then reality as we know it is an image about things that exist. We color reality literally and figuratively 4) if our minds color the image we perceive as reality then the quantum effects we observe are also colored by our minds. Quantum observations have a mental aspect to them; everything has a mental aspect. 5) the mental aspect seems to not be just that it's a correlation of the brain activity which creates the concept of the pattern that is observed, it also seems to be affecting how reality unfolds. 6) the mind aspect affecting reality as it unfolds has to be something that is related to consciousness, it's not consciousness but the thing from which consciousness arises. Consciousness in not just an emergent property of brain function and structure, but the brain structure and function along with consciousness are emerging from this other "something" (tbd). People refer to it as spirit or consciousness but these are highly imprecise notions. It's something related to experience and how it is possible to experience things subjectively. Answering the question "why do we experience things?", or "what is experience?", or "can experience be a thing that is not just related to illusions?" might be the key to offering a solution to the quantum dilemma.
Hi,I see you have some backgrounds that resonates with mine Could you elaborate on the subject ? What would be that things that are not consciousness ? And do you have personal answers for why we experience reality ? Love? Finally doesn't illusions and enlightenment compared to matter and energy ? And experiencing reality a divine celebration .
@@arnaudjean1159 sure, I'd like to expand but I do not have the answers but I have a framework that makes things that seem contradictory in other frameworks (materialism and theism) seem to fit coherently as the pieces of puzzle in a Tetris game. Our brains today are not that different from 2000 years ago so the brain's ability to detect and process patterns is identical. The only difference is that we have more accurate tools of perception: science. Yes, science is an extension of perception, the brain's capability to probe reality. Now, what we see / understand of the world is an image on the reality as is. So matter is only a subset of things that exist. For this reason I'm forced to redefine some notions: Actuality = background pattern processing environment in which things manifest; Reality = the image our brains project on this background of Actuality; Exist = everything that is known, unknown, conceivable and inconceivable ; Real = things that manifest in the physical realm (as defined by our understanding); Mental = things that have only a neuronal pattern associated with them. Unknown = things that could exist but because there is no neuronal pattern associated with them cannot be distinguished from non existing. Let me know if you see any problem with these so far.
@@arnaudjean1159 right, but that means that we can't simply summon things into reality just by thinking about it. I am becoming increasingly more satisfied as science evolves to understand and explain reality in a way that makes such intuitive sense. As long as we remain glued to “the scientific method”, we are doomed to the recurrence relation that requires a universe that behaves according to arbitrary / disorganized assumptions, so that it can be explained
Yes maybe a single particle is in superposition until it is interfered with in a closed system but in the large scale reality we inhabit the energies are busy collapsing each others wavefunctions. A tree does make a sound if it falls in the forest and no one hears it. The human mind is not the only entity that exists.

It should be mandatory for cosmologists to vape 5-MeO-DMT every now and then. It would give them unimaginable experience from superhuman levels of consiousness.
This always reminds me of when I was first learning to use one of the first versions of the Unreal Engine. I made a real big wide open area that had a lot of stuff in it and the game would bog down from having too many things to render, so it was better to have some closed off areas and make walls so the game would not render anything you could not see in that area. So I kept it the same but just added walls or cliffs to block some areas off, So I could still have the same stuff in the level but it would not bog down because it only had to render what was visible. The universe does not want to waste rendering power to decide what state each particle is in if nobody is looking at it.
I think the reason we loose something in the translation, is that we, as human beings are limited to our senses. Light for instance, sight itself. If we require 3-4 versions of an image just to project a picture in our brains, no wonder it looks semi permanent when we aren’t looking directly at it. Once we pick up light, that message gets changed in the brain. Same probably goes for a high powered camera or microscope. They reverse the image to project it. That’s all I can think. We think about an electron as a particle, but it’s more of a region filled with motion. Energy, subatomic particles, and atoms/molecules all act differently, yet work together. If time is movement and counting, then without entropy we have no time. So if we think about space as a giant pressure cooker, the heaviest masses always sink to center. Time space can be filled with energy moving or solidified. But they both displace the empty black vacuum (cosmological constant) making space grow. Galaxies are probably just time dilated space storms. Heat chasing a cold dense center is much the same as high pressure working air masses chasing a low pressure center. It isn’t just gravity holding things in. Those gaseous regions would quite naturally hug a cold dense mass even against atmospheric pressure, so in a vacuum they’d most definitely be glued to Sagittarius A STAR. Some of the mass isn’t held in by gravity. Thermodynamics is boss.

Maybe the same way like we have a feeling when somebody is watching us. If you are alone at home you act different than if there is somebody in the same room.
It would be funny if "observers" watching us observe whether we point a camera at a particle/waveform or not so that "they" secretly change the state of the particle 😀
Can we address something though. Wave collapse and super-position dependent on observation is a math convenance…. Like how would we know a thing doesn’t become a thing till we look at it? We have to look at it to tell, so how would we know in the physical real world what it was before we measured it if we’re gonna start assuming that measurement changes it in some way. Changes it from what? How do you know what? You had to measure it…. So…. Ya feel me. On paper we know that solves the equations at least to a degree. but we don’t really know.
@@bryanloch7747 that’s exactly what I mean, that experiment is generally misunderstood. But the nuance is slight, it says more about experimental design than about practical quantum physics.
You’re correct. We have no current explanation for what a “wave function collapse” is physically. It’s just the behavior of a wave function after a measurement.
They say if I walk out of my living room my couch is not there ,it's only when I walk back into my living room the wave function will collapse and there my couch is ...um no !
Great video, love the depth you provide! Editing wise looks great, the titles just need to be a little longer duration wise, I didn't have time to read some of them.
In my opinion, there's a misconception in Schrödinger's thought experiment. The cat is a conscious observer, so that would matke it collapse into 1 state.
You sound like you think you’ve come up with an idea that none of the physicists have considered. I can assure you that they have considered it, and instantly dismissed it. The cat is both dead and alive at the same time. It can’t make itself alive if it’s dead. And it can’t make itself dead if it’s alive. The “observer” in the example is the subject (the person who opens the box) - not the object (the cat). I can’t observe myself into existence or non-existence. In other words, I can’t collapse the wave function that creates me.
The bigger question, when it becomes solid definite state when observed, is it DIFFERENT based on who is observing???? That would be the difference between personal intention and just simply an illusion, similar to video game popping up a bush if you get close enough…
If you do the cat experiment, is the cat actually alive or dead at the same time, or do we simply not know which? Not knowing witch, is not the same as both states existing at the same time. And even assuming both states could exist, won't the cat be a form of measurement itself? Seems whatever it is that would kill or not kill the cat, is a measurement system, a form of detector.
You are asking the right questions. In quantum theory it’s not that we don’t know which, it’s that the universe itself hasn’t decided. The cat is like a roulette wheel where the ball is still going around, and we’re asking which number the ball is on: even the roulette wheel doesn’t know. The act of observing is like stopping the roulette wheel so that the ball can finally settle into a state. Secondly: yah, is the cat an observer? Can an amoeba be an observer? Quantum theory is incomplete because it doesn’t define what constitutes an observer or an observation.
If you assume that the cat’s life is entirely dependent on the one particle’s state, which from a more modern explanation it isn’t (due to quantum decoherence), then the cat is 50 % alive 50% dead. It doesn’t become entirely alive or dead until a measurement of the system is made.

What if things are blurry or almost nonexistent when not looking like when you leave a room for another one, the previous unoccupied room ceases to exist or becomes something else in the meantime until someone else enters it again. I thought of things like this when I was young. Like do things that am currently not observing even exist?
This is so easy. 1. Philosophy is what is possible. 2. Alignment of probability results in reality. 3. Projection of reality is avatar. 4. Observation of an avatar in maya. 5. Truth is perception of fact from a vantage point . 6. Observation obeys the laws in Relativity. 🎉
"But when it comes to the word atom, we have to go to ancient Greece of 400 B.C. And there was a brilliant philosopher named Democritus, and he proposed the Greek word atomos, which means uncuttable. And so as he explained, all matter was eventually reducible to discrete, small particles or atomos." So, 2400 years ago. Think first.
I think what everyone misses is that the particles at the smallest level are exactly the same. How will you observe and recognize something when there is nothing to distinguish it? If everything at the lowest level is the same, then the behavior depends on another force that you have to find, I call it the God!
Will we ever be able to create or discover something (as we humans do very good) that allows us to transcend the realm of our consciousness so we can experience reality/realities/(?) as it fundamentally is? What would we find? Are we ready as society to withstand this newfound knowledge?

First, you need to say that the observer is a machine using an electromagnetic field to observe the particles. Second, the particles are potentially in one or another state for whatever state they can have. 3d The observers are specialized machines created to observe the particle's state, the problem is that the machine detection field is interacting with the particles and so it is forcing them to collapse. This means the only way we can (for now) really observe them is using pasive means of detections.
1:18, I will be blunt about it, but It is not that our measurement interacts with the wave in weird ways and the wave collapses into a particle, it is just that WE OURSELVES are a part of a single timeline representing a single path throughout all branches of opportunities so we can only measure a single state of a particle which is in superposition, infact our future is always in a super position of possibilities, its only when we decide what to do, that we make a particular possibility true among all the other ones. but dont think that those other possibilities die out, they end in our timeline, but they all exist just that they got separated to a different parallel hypothetical universe. And this is happening each and every single plank times.. so what I want to say overall is that wave is nothing but a superposition state of the matter, when we try to observe it, being a part of just one timeline, we unwantedly and unknowingly pick out a particular position from that blurr of superposition state. we all behave like that to space time, just that our randomness is low because of the large number of uncertainities cancel eachother out, but a single small particle has nothing to cancel its effect out in its vicinity, if there is, then it may get cancelled out, eg:- double slit experiment light patterns.

I'm leaning more and more to the simulation theory. QM is pointing towards this, in that in any program the "render" only takes place when it needs to, as in we need to see and interact with it. Efficient code does not render things you cannot see, they remain in a wave form and a host of possibilities. The speed of light is a constant in the code. Very convenient to stop us venturing off and the program having to render distant objects. The only question for me is this...Who or what created to code? Are aliens part of the code or are they the code creators?
10:10 that might not be true either because we haven't even scratched the surface of all the conditions a particle could be "suffering from" so we can't actually confirm that as a fact. There could be conditions that are artificial that makes particles act completely unlike themselves that could open the door to new properties of these particles for when they are under certain conditions (suffering from a state of being if you will)
The universe is made of matter, but it needs consciousness to be present for such matter to exist, and consciousness needs matter for consciousness itself to exist. Without such symbiosis then a state of perpetual nothingness would replace reality.
This is not just not true. I'm guessing your referencing the double slit experiment where people state consciousness can cause the collapse of the wave function. But also consider the fact that any act of observation requires a physical interaction with a photon in the experiment its this physical interaction that collapses the wave function. Therefore its correct to say any observation of the nature of photon will change its behaviour but due to interacting with it that has nothing to do with consciousness.... or at least that's what I think.
@ReachTeachRespectGrow I like your perspective. It seems to imply an interconnectedness or oneness between all things throughout the universe. I have a reservation though, not all particles are quantumly entangled and for particles to become entangled there needs to be an interaction for them to exchange property's. I might also add that there have been experiments where a low atomic number material is used to cover one of the slits to create a which way detector. They concluded that the method of detection changes the conditions so much so that it destroys the interference. I'm no expert but with respect I stand by my original premise.
Quantum physics relies heavily on mathematical concepts such as wave functions, probability amplitudes, and complex numbers to describe the behavior of particles at the atomic and subatomic levels. The wave-particle duality is mathematically expressed through the Schrödinger equation, which uses a wave function to predict the probability distribution of a particle's position, illustrating that particles exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties depending on how they are observed. With that said, the underlying structure of the universe is pure mathematics.
Time refers to the moment existence happens, which begins with the creation of an atom. As soon as atoms are forms, durations of space begun. The electrons, protons, neutrons, gluons, muons, boson, etc which make up an atom are creations too but not in the realms of time.
How can electrons and neutrons not be the smallest particle if they MAKE up the atom? How can the atom be the smaller if its parts are bigger? I am a little high and am not following (3:42...also why isnt Hugh Everett or Feynman mentioned in this video? )
maybe observing is 3d while superposition is 28d. so particle do not "choose" a singular state at all. "observing" might be more about how our interaction with the system forces it to fit into a framework we can understand, collapsing the wave function into a specific state. the "higher dimensions" idea could suggest that what we perceive as a wave function collapse might be a projection of a more complex reality that we can't fully grasp.

@@NeilRealChampagne By observing from an Empty Mind. (The end act of meditation.)
What😂😂
That is indeed true.

Yes, I think that's probably right.. 😊

As above, so below

I wonder if electrons and other "particles" in the quantum world appear "fuzzy" and in a super position due to higher dimensions that we dont see when we measure it, but the procsss of measuring it reveals its attributes in the 3D space at that time of measurement, but the rest remains hidden.
this thought gives me a little more understanding towards all of this. I can visualize what you're saying.
The universe is a construct of my mind as much as I am a construct of the universe.
1) If matter is made of quanta, then quanta is not matter. Matter is made by non-matter.
2) if everything we know is through senses, then science is an extension of our senses.
3) If we only see what the senses tell us then reality as we know it is an image about things that exist. We color reality literally and figuratively
4) if our minds color the image we perceive as reality then the quantum effects we observe are also colored by our minds.
Hi,I see you have some backgrounds that resonates with mine
Could you elaborate on the subject ?
@Adaerus I quite agree, the unknown reminds me that we can only see a small part of The spectrum of light .
@@arnaudjean1159 right, but that means that we can't simply summon things into reality just by thinking about it. We can say unicorns exist as brain patterns but they lack the reality aspect as they do not manifest in the physical. However, we can conjure monetary value with our minds and create the physical substrate in paper or metal and call it money. And money definitely has an impact on the physical.

The same thing with „The Watchers“. Who are they? Maybe they are our observers and influence the behavior of humankind just due to watching.
It would be funny if "observers" watching us observe whether we point a camera at a particle/waveform or not so that "they" secretly change the state of the particle 😀

Is there anyone who taught the universe is quantum like before studying it, and think quantum mechanics makes more sense than classical mechanics?
If you do the cat experiment, is the cat actually alive or dead at the same time, or do we simply not know which? Not knowing witch, is not the same as both states existing at the same time. And even assuming both states could exist, won't the cat be a form of measurement itself? Seems whatever it is that would kill or not kill the cat, is a measurement system, a form of detector.
the cat is not real, does that help you ?
You are asking the right questions. In quantum theory it’s not that we don’t know which, it’s that the universe itself hasn’t decided. The cat is like a roulette wheel where the ball is still going around, and we’re asking which number the ball is on: even the roulette wheel doesn’t know. The act of observing is like stopping the roulette wheel so that the ball can finally settle into a state. Secondly: yah, is the cat an observer? Can an amoeba be an observer? Quantum theory is incomplete because it doesn’t define what constitutes an observer or an observation.
it's an allegory...
If you assume that the cat’s life is entirely dependent on the one particle’s state, which from a more modern explanation it isn’t (due to quantum decoherence), then the cat is 50 % alive 50% dead. It doesn’t become entirely alive or dead until a measurement of the system is made.
And no its not an allegory. It’s a thought experiment made by Schrodinger himself to show the absurdity of quantum mechanics when applied to real life

The real you is the groundstate. You are sentience itself.
So basically the chunks only load when you're next to them in order to not overload the cpu... congrats we are officially in a simulation...
Or rather chunks are always loaded with all the possibilities and when we go near them they fall into one possibility

Looks like we’re in a simulation
Does it? Has it been observed?
Quantum physics relies heavily on mathematical concepts such as wave functions, probability amplitudes, and complex numbers to describe the behavior of particles at the atomic and subatomic levels. The wave-particle duality is mathematically expressed through the Schrödinger equation, which uses a wave function to predict the probability distribution of a particle's position, illustrating that particles exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties depending on how they are observed. With that said, the underlying structure of the universe is pure mathematics.

maybe observing is 3d while superposition is 28d. so particle do not "choose" a singular state at all. "observing" might be more about how our interaction with the system forces it to fit into a framework we can understand, collapsing the wave function into a specific state. the "higher dimensions" idea could suggest that what we perceive as a wave function collapse might be a projection of a more complex reality that we can't fully grasp.
