I feel bad for the Aesop Rock fans who can't grasp the beauty and brilliance of Homeboy Sandman. His elegant style makes for the perfect compliment to Aesop's piercing and often-times fatiguing delivery. Best Lice record yet.
Steven Pampel Took me till this EP to fully warm up to Sandman but I really think he finds his footing here. He's got some really laid back flows that I dig
Just because some people may not like Sandman doesn't necessarily mean they don't "grasp" him. The dude is fine, but no offense to him there isn't a whole lot to "grasp", especially in comparison to a complex dude like Aes. It is possible to both understand AND just not like something at the same time. "i like something they don't like, must be that i'm just more intelligent and comprehensive than them" sorry dude but get over yourself a bit
Oh you feel bad? Please, let us appease you. Homeboy is the GOAT. Hes better than Aes. Like way better. Do you still feel bad? You might feel worse, because maybe you realized that youre a fuckin dummy.
FridgeBeatz hey meng! They are both great artists collaborating together. It's fun to listen to the differences between the two WHILE hearing beats from producers I haven't heard of. Just sit back and enjoy :)
Dude I've been bumping part 1 & 2 heavy Too see this 3rd drop came as a huge surprised, this is true art poetry rap and meshing of great melodies and instrumentals.
Holy shit they both go off on Yoohoo. I mean the whole ep is good but it's by far my favorite track I think. I wish money wasn't so tight or else I'd donate for sure because these tracks are dope.
People hate on sand, and i dunno why. His style almost reminds me of MF DOOM in a way. We need more rappers trying different stuff like sandman's doing
Connor Ollive Word. I'm workin on developing my own rapping style.. Ive been writing William Burroughs/Avant Garde/ beat-poetry styled prose since before I even knew who Aesop Rock was..

Seer Stone good on you man, making music is a beautiful thing. Hip hop is a beautifully diverse medium; I wish you all the best in the way your rhymes develop. Takes a lot of love and passion to turn your own In this game. I sincerely wish you all the best
Padooshka I know a ton of cats who love DOOM. He will always be one of the GOATs to me. But I never hear cats bump Sand. Tbh, I didn't listen to any of sandman's own stuff till I saw him open for Aes last year. Dudes got a really cool charm to his style. Reminds me of spitting rhymes with your friends. I need more of that in hip hop I think. That kinda universal style, the universality of makings ones voice heard in this medium. Anyways, thanks for sitting through my drunken reply, peace !
Yo I love how their style has developed 1 thru 3. I totally enjoyed lice 1 but they for sure found their groove w 2 and ampd it up even more on 3. They developed a definitive sound and I'm def layin on em waiting on 4 because of that. I hope y'all are as stoked as I am.

When I first heard this a few years ago I wasn't that big on on Sandman, but now listening to it I'm impressed someone was able to match Aesop for a whole album
This is the first time I've ever seen people hating on Homeboy..... I'm baffled, it just shows that people are only listening to how an artist sounds sonically. Homeboy have some of the sickest wordplay in the game, not to mention has soooo many flows. I love Aesop just as much, but even he has admitted that he admires Homeboy's prowess.
David Gutierrez A lot of people probably haven't really delved into Homeboy's work. I understand it though. If I'm trying to introduce someone to Homeboy Sandman's work, I wouldn't tell them to check out the Lice projects. In my opinion, they don't really represent Boy Sand's immense talent that well. He feels a tad mediocre on them to me.
I think what makes this album great is how subtle they are with their political contexts throughout the entire project, and how in line they are with each others ideologies. All while showing off their quirky, non-serious personality, contrasting with dense undertones. They not only complement each other well stylistically but also conceptually.
This is genius because-sandman willing played the part of the idiot on the first track lulling the listener into believing he sucks. But then as the album continues his flo gets more complex and aces gets simpler. So what it created was an echo effect leaving you scratching your head as to who was good and who was wac. Your scratch your head so much it's like you have" Tripple fat lice" crawling on your head
Tyler Chapman while I think its a good idea I don't really see it. Aesop stays pretty consistent in terms of complex flows and Sandman usually switches from simplistic to complex flows.
Cool analogy, but Homeboy wasn't trying to "play the idiot". His steady punctuated delivery on that track is one of his oft used cadences. Sometimes less is more.
I feel like I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to Hip Hop. It takes a second to let it in and then you realize the genius in Sandman. Together a great combo
that comment is not readable sorry, little (lot) drunk. i meant the reason i listen to these is because I've always been a fan of aes, but in my opinion sandman really made this album for me. I think... thats how i feel now. they both killed it but the sandman dude had my crying
LilKrelboyneShawty I mean he's definitely very talented and clever, but he jusy doesn't have Aes's delivery or density. their styles bounce amazingly though, enough so that they pulled off a Tribe Called Quest reference without me cringing in Pins and Needles.
