I think that was the theme of the game and the soundtrack, you feel like a hero, liberating the capital of Ustio from the Belkan invaders, then the war takes a darker turn as you take the fight to the Belkans.

you can still play it! the emulators are quite good, PCSX2 for instance is great to play this one. I recommend having a copy you already bought or buying one to support Project Aces for their awesome work as well!

Seeing my plane doing barrel rolls more or less gloating at the end of the track. God it's epic! So much pure fun and the best song in the series imo
Ace Combat Zero is my favorite of the series, and that Lietmotif at 1:27 really captures the feeling you get playing this game. It captures the emoitional high of a mission about the liberation of a capital city, while also carrying a hint of sadness for what is happening to the world at large.
