6:20 the FOV doesn't change on a character-to-character basis, it's their head height that changes. The closer a moving object is towards you (the ground towards your camera), the faster you seem to be.
Appreciate the clarity, also their hands and animations creates a visual of someone moving slower or faster. It adds this weird mental state that something is slower or faster.
@@FatalShotGG well I disagree with you when you see someone smaller running at the same speed as someone bigger their legs their hands and the way their body moves it’s just faster than that of someone who is bigger. Even if they are moving at the same speed.
@@FatalShotGG many people have said the same thing about animations/hight/especialy fov making your speed seem slower or faster, its subjective and it's different for from person to person I'm sure. I've had to correct so many people that say gibby or caustic is slower than other legends.
Minecraft was what taught me the importance of fov. Started playing it with my niece and was wondering why I'd start to feel nauseous after a while. Finally thought to mess with settings and realized it defaults to the lowest fov and once I turned it up, no more nausea.
There is one detail that is not talked about much. Although the sensitivity is the same, what you see is different, and this it affects how you aim. Let's say you use high FOV and an enemy appears 5 meters to the right and you flick to it. If you then use a lower FOV and the same object appears at the same distance, it will look farther away from the center of the screen, so you will feel like you need to flick farther and will overshoot. Switching FOV like that messes up your aim because you aim based on the distances on your screen, not the actual distance in-game. Always use the same FOV in every game, if possible!
you would have to calculate the FOV in each game then as they dont scale FOV the same way across the board. Basically if objects look further away in the middle of the screen than on each side something is not scaling as they should.
I actually really like 70 fov it feels so slow and not so fast paced. I used 110 for a while and it just stressed me out because I was going too fast and and it let me to lose fights because I was so fast I guess. But with 70 fov everything feels so slow for me and I could think better and not stress because everything is so small and going so fast
You cant just jump from 70 to 110 ? And then assume 70 is the best. Most ppl play on 90 or above. I'm curious have you ever got to diamond do u have a 2k ? 3k? 4k?
I played on 70 FOV and always felt slower. I was stuck in Plat 2 for couple of days then I changed my FOV to 90. Plat feels like a pub now. I nearly went straight to D4 the night I changed it. Huge difference maker for me.
I feel like I am more consistent with my movement/flow using 100-102, but I feel more gun control/distance capable using 95-97. Just the fact that these numbers are so close yet so different feeling, goes to show that FOV is a tricky yet helpful tool.
the game isnt scaling FOV correctly if the object on each side of the screen is closer than when in the middle of the screen, more and more games are getting this right, but its not the case with Apex as shown here. Wasnt there some reddit guide on how to fix the scaling ?
If you didn't listen to this guys advise your probably a way better player by now. Not changing something because adjusting is too difficult is just sad
I have one peripheral and use 108. 110 feels too small but even I want to know what would be optimal. I was to see around me but not 100% on my FOV sometimes.
Depends on your FOV on CS:GO. Most likely you had a much lower FOV in CS:GO. You need to take into account world scaling and how that will effect how you feel in the world of CS:GO vs Apex. An example is hopping into Battlefield 1 vs Battlefield 5. Both have the literal same scaling for sensitivity and FOV. But the scale of the world does mess with your head a bit and might cause a want to change. Not all FOV is the same in games. Some games use different logic for horizontal vs vertical FOV. Depends on the engine. So something to consider. Some games flat out cannot be matched perfectly visually for sensitivity. But the concept is apply it to inches per 360. Meaning again, shoot a mark on the wall. Then measure the distance it takes to do a full 360. That will give you an accurate as possible 1:1 for each game. But as mentioned above, the scaling of the game and FOV may change your perception of your sensitivity. If you like, I could showcase that in a quick video, or even on my live stream. Its very easy to demonstrate! :)

Very nice! Trying different FOVs is always helpful to improve. Can either see more around you or be more zoomed in. Be surprised what you can get comfortable with!
Think of 16:10 giving you the best of both worlds. You can use a higher FOV and use stretch res to make targets appear “thicker”. Downside is you may not like the way the game looks. Not as high or a resolution or as appealing.

Lower FOV if you are further away. Higher FOV when you are closer. ALSO, this is still preference. I mean depends how far away you are. Some people still use SUPER high FOVs even though right up to their screen. But a high FOV being far away, you quite literally won't be able to see a single thing. Unless your TV is massive. I don’t use gfuel, maybe drink it once a month? I don’t drink caffeine either. Biggest thing is that it’s not fast reaction time. Thanks Daz. I am a diamond player and I have well over 10k kills on Apex but I love to know the exact numbers. 101 I will have to try it. What is your hip fire sensitivity? Go to settings > Video Settings > Then look for the bar that says Field Of View. It should be default at like 90. Which is quite low. You can adjust that meter to whatever value you want.
i use 90 to 100 fov normally because my aim was alot better with those fov's and i changed to 81 and i felt like an aimbot And if your reading this comment dont use 81 fov its personal prefferances for your fov
it looks like Apex is using Horizontal FOV, my guess, have never played it. But 110 FOV on 13.3:9 aspect ratio would be like 100 on 16:9 screens. I recommend the "FOV wsgf calculator".
It affects the visual aspect. Your inches per 360 is still the same. This is why people struggle going from game to game. NOTE THOUGH. Apex legends SLOWS down your sensitivity when you ADS. When you speed it back up to match your hipfire. Its why I match my 1x and 2x to my hipfire. Imagine your hipfire at a base CS:GO sensitivity. If you change the FOV, the base sensitivity has not changed. It takes the same amount of movement to do a full 360. The zoom HAS changed. Again, if you ADS and the game or your sensitivity is set to be slower. Then of course, that new inches per 360 is going to be affected. Reason games naturally scale down sensitivity base on zoom. Is because maintaining the same sensitivity would result in it appearing too fast. So they match monitor distance to sensitivity. So it feels more natural. Hope this helps bro. Its a deeper dive into a larger world has you improve your aim and gameplay and understanding the fundamentals.

Thanks mine is 110
I tried 110 and I think targets are like ants had to switch back to 90
Another video with 10 minutes of padded out to like 2 minutes of actual content. Stop wasting everyones time and get to the point quicker.
I don't pad my videos, they were always to the point. Remember videos are made for everyone to understand. You are most likely a more advanced user and need to explain those who have no clue what an FPS game is.
Wait, how can bots attack you? Did I miss something
I have a video on the channel that shows how you make the bots move. I still use that feature often! :) want me to link it to you?

@@Dazs no big deal, Pennies at most. Most youtubers make 10-20k a year.... Plus all they do is jack off and smell up a room. Never gonna find a woman or have a family with that life style, nor do they contribute to society
Playing at 120fov and watching the low fov clips made me nauseous
