    • @jackielinde7568
      @jackielinde7568 6 років тому +9

      Actually, cooling for nuke reactors is much simpler. BUT, you need a fairly large swimming pool for one.

    • @jackielinde7568
      @jackielinde7568 6 років тому +1

      I know that nuclear reactors (especially the breeder reactors used by the US) are all water cooled. Why do you think I made the pool comment. The large ones use large ponds to cool their coolant. The cooling system he used added an extra system into the cooling process that reactors don't have.

      Intel raided the cookie jar when AMD came over. They have sacrificed their premium Unobtainable Chips to compete with the AMD consumer prices onslaught. 7NM is the next wrecking ball to hit. Intels Cookie Jar is empty now they even dusted off the disingenuous 28 Core CPU Super Phase Shift Cooler and the Kitchen sink.

Linus still could have had a lot of gain from a threadripper, even if it wouldn't be as overclockable as say an i7. he could have gone well past 4.5 ghz, probably 5.2 or higher if i could guess, which is still miles faster than the stock 3.5 ghz

Best temperature on coolant was -52c. the coolant was turning to slush in the cooler. Ran this for about 3 months but after i burned up my second video card from condensation i gave up and went to a standard water cooling system. Had some pretty insane 3D Mark scores with this setup.

    I made one from scrath. I live in Brazil. It´s normal to get 32° Celcius . I have a AMD FX 9590 and a Ryzen 9 and another AMD Phenon II X6 computers here in my studio. I work with Post Production. So many fans are annoying sound to hear constantly. So a bought a 1/3hp Condenser Unit from Embraco, capable to near 12 tons of cooling. The water chiller is outtside the room. So with tree pumps, pumped the the cooling fluid at -30°C to the 3 computers , with almost no sound of fans. This is a very good solution. at full load in a rendering process for example, obviously the cpus is not a 100% load , but around 60%, they running cool, arount 12 to 20°C. Very good. Good video from you. Keep the good job. Best regards, Leon.

    Now, can we FINALLY TEST a working motherboard strapped to the roof of your car driven at 100+ KMH (60 MPH) to see how much cooling the motherboard and CPU would receive with a STOCK CPU cooler onboard and with NO CPU cooler attached!
    AND THEN see whether higher and lower driving speeds would allow us to overclock more or less with or without a cpu cooler attached! Try speeds of 30 KMH, then 50KMH then 80 KMH, then 100 kmh up to to 160 KMH (100 MPH) to see just how much wind speed will cool a working motherboard!

    I'd be looking at coating the motherboard with a water resistant coating if I were doing water cooling. Doing so would prevent the motherboard and other components being damaged in the event that a leak occurs. I've also came up with my own design concepts for an external water cooler, to work just like a mini-fridge would, with controlled temperature scaling so you can choose where you want the temperature to sit, and also have the ability to use timers so that it can automatically adjust the temperatures for you if things get too hot or too cold.

    1:35 Correction (Sorry Linus)
    Fluids can not be compressed! (explanation below if you care enough to read it)
    The compressor compresses the gas -> the condenser liquifies the hot compressed gas by cooling it down -> the expansion valve injects the fluid into the evaporator (like a spray can) -> the injected fluid expands inside the evaporator and turns to a gas again. this expansion (or phase change) requiers energy. the energy that is needed is absorbed by the evaporators surroundings in form of heat. therefor the evaporator cools it's surroundings. thermodynamics :)

    Oh my god...and everyone thought I was nuts when I built mine out of parts from a deep freeze. Thank you, nice to know I'm not the only one who has tried refrigerated cooling. Only...mines a little different, don t use water pipes or lines, copper cpu block with small refrigerant lines straight though it, only using evaporator coil. Condensation is a bit more a concern to then the way you did it. Gets pretty "wet"

    • @TefenCa

      Too true. That and they don't care about this type of stuff as much. If they get into overclocking it is to compete with LN2 or Liquid Helium. Otherwise most are just into buying fancy looking parts with RGB lighting that they can easy assemble with some tube bending at the most.
      Only so many people put the effort into stuff like this or real case/system modding/building.
