    Thank you sooo much for the video! I’m actually accepted to mcgill atm but still not sure whether I should commit to mcgill or not because I’m honestly intimidated by the massive workload and the competitive atmosphere of mcgill(and all the other stories I’ve heard of mcgill that scare me). I usually get easily overwhelmed when I’m around people who are much smarter and having to compete against them to get a good grade(I heard mcgill is all about that). I like studying together and helping each other out like a team but I was wondering if mcgill students are the other way around. Are mcgill students supportive to each other or are they too competitive to the extent where they don’t help each other and rather hog everything to themselves(class materials etc.)? I know a guy in the video said mcgill is less competitive than ut but I want to hear some words from you too!! I got accepted to Arts btw:) Again, thx so much for the video

      Hey, first of all CONGRATULATION !!!! In my experience, there is some level of competition but I am in management where each team project grades can depend on what the others team presents so there can definitely be tension. It really depends on your program and faculty, for example I heard that students in Finance can be real sharks hahaha. But overall I believe that there is that supportive atmosphere and that team based aspect. I know that my friends who are in arts and science have study groups with their friends and classmates. They would meet at a library, study, be miserable and cry together but also laugh and have awesome times. I personally prefer to study alone at my place so I never really had a study group, but I had some friends that would willingly send me their notes and we would all walk together to exams or meet a bit before to have a quick study session ... I really think that you should not miss this AWESOME opportunity based on fear alone :) I had a great time at McGill and met so many incredible people. When is your deadline to make your decision ? Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can clarify something for you:)

      LeslYao wow thank you so much!! You truly are my lifesaver in many ways(your vlogs are literally saving me lol). Well I guess I shouldn’t be so terrified yet considering what you say! It seems like a much better atmosphere than of what I thought. Oh and yes I have some more questions, if you don’t mind:) I heard getting good grades is extremely hard in mcgill because of the bell curve grading system. Does it apply to all programs? And is it easy to get support/help from the profs whenever you’re stuck on something? Also, are there many co-op opportunities in mcgill? Sorry for questioning you a lot😅 oh and i have to make a decision until may 3rd!

      @leslyyao7888  6 років тому +3

      I am so happy that I can help you make your decision. The curve can really affect your grade sometimes but I am not 100% sure if it applies to all programs. It can be difficult also because you can not get A+ at McGill compared to Concordia and other universities. Teachers are really supportive, in management they are anyways. There are office hours when you can go see them and talk, they can reexplain things you didn't understand or give you advice. You can also go talk to them after class, some teachers even gave us their phone number so we could text them hahaha and there are also TAs (teacher Assistants) that are there to help for sure. I always email my teacher whenever i have questions and if the class is of reasonable size, they usually reply very fast. In management we even have happy hours on thursdays where we drink and sometimes teachers even join us :) There are many co-op opportunities at McGill but here is the website if you want more specific information depending on your program www.mcgill.ca/study/2015-2016/university_regulations_and_resources/undergraduate/ug_gi_internships_exchanges_and_coop_programs
      Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    Hey do you know when to expect your results back? I've applied for a program in the science faculty and was wondering if the results for science applicants are back yet.

      Hello, I am not so sure about the science faculty. I was in management and if I recall correctly I had my admission letter by March... but that was 5 YEARS AGO (I just scared myself) so I don't really trust my memory 100%.
