      Hello, I would register for another class until add drop (just to ba safe make sure to always have 5 classes for backups). Then try to register again during add/drop and if you are still unable to, you can try to reach out to the teacher and explain why it is so important for you to get in this class.. sometimes they can help you.

    Hey thank you for your video it was very helpful. I'm a student in a french curriculum (i read that you had a french baccalaureate too), and i was wondering what were your gardes in high school for you to get admitted into McGill. I'm only in junior year but i'm trying to get as informed as possible to be fully prepared cause i'm really interested in this university. Also, as a french baccalaureate student, did you find it really hard to adapt ?(par rapport au rythme de travail...) Thank you !

    • @leslyyao7888
      @leslyyao7888 4 роки тому

      Hello, the transition from the French education system the Anglophone system needed some adaptation. It was hard for me to understand at first and you will probably need sometime too but totally doable. In second and premier I had an average of 17/20, then it went a bit down to 16/20 in terminal haha. But I would say the most important years are your 2nd and 1er, you need to give t your all, not only for McGill but all the other university you will apply to. Only the grade of your first trimester of terminal will be send to university. I hope I answered your questions, do not hesitate to reach out

    I was newly admitted to McGill and I go to a French high school too so this was so helpful! Could you do a video about meal plan or if it's not worth an entire video...please tell me which one would be best for me: I don't think I'll eat a lot in McGill's cafeterias because I like to eat healthily and I'm quite picky about food...so should I choose the mandatory meal plan or would you recommend another meal plan? Also, I wanted to know more about First-year residences at McGill: Between Upper and Douglas Hall, which one is better? I really like Douglas Hall from what I've read on blogs, saying that it's a smaller community. But I am also interested in Upper Rez that seems to be a better choice to establish my social life at McGill. If there are others you think I should consider thinking about, please tell me, I'm open to new options! Lastly, because I go to a French high school, I will be a U1 student but does that mean I will take classes where most people have already been at McGill for a year? I'm just concerned that the people I meet in my classes and the people at my residence, designed for first-year students won't be the same. Thanks in advance for your help!

      Let's be honest. I know so many international school kids who have let themselves loose after getting into McGill thinking they have "made it" and life in university should be easy. This ain't the school's fault. You can't possibly read and do everything it's perfectly within your judgment to pick and choose what matters and guess what, that's how it works in the professional world too. And if you want an easy school, go to the UofT.

    So I registered at McGill for U0 science classes.... on Tuesday and Thursday I have like all the classes on those days with ten minutes in between... it goes from Leacock to Adams to Leacock to Adams... is that too crazy?

    • @leslyyao7888
      @leslyyao7888 5 років тому

      Hello, I did that too for most semesters and it was super nice to have all the other days free to catch up on classes and do homework instead of going to class. Even though sometime the days of classes were very challenging, I really liked that system. Concerning the walk from Leacock to Adams, it is totally doable, I was doing the walk from Bronfman to Adams during the 10 minutes breaks too and you can arrive few minutes later also .. no problem. The teachers are very understanding about that and most of the time they will let you leave early so you will have more than 10 minutes to walk :) Hope I was able to help and GOOD LUCK. Also I have a question I might be taking a major in Environment and development but there are these courses prereq of natural sciences (while I'm in arts and don't like sciences) but they are in S/U option, do you think it's okay if I just don't go to class or idk don't give the assignements and have it in unsatisfactory? Also, I would love a video on what to do when you arrive as an international student: what credit card choose, what phone plan...

    Thanks for your video, very helpful. Also, I'm going to mcgill next year and I would like some advice on how to choose my classes, I don't really understand how many classes to take per semester to get my degree in 3 years?

      HEY CONGRATS ! Did you do the process I explained in the videos ? What are you gonna study, in which faculties? With a French Baccalauréat, you should be able to finish in 3 years if you take 5 courses per semester and maybe summer classes ... really depends. You need to find the faculty credit requirements :)

    Hello! I was admitted to McGill as an exchange student. I really don't know what I'm doing hahaha. I am supposed to register for classes in May but... I don't know how to identify an easy elective and a difficult one. Any ideas? I am going to studying a major in biology. I am supposed to take 4 classes, but I'm on my fourth year... So I don't need to take core classes, do I?. If you could, I don't know, gather some information for us, exchange students... I would be VERY grateful. Thanks a lot! Love your videos, very helpful.
