Seen the title and knew what was coming, made even harder with lack of visibility, 2 tough munros which ill not be in a hurry to go back and do again, I remember being in fern hell at the end and rolling about before finally emerging back at the farm! Great to get them bagged and can definetly appreciate the solo effort, ive did the majority of my munros on my own and there's a certain feeling of adventure when you tackle these hills on your own, first comment, love the channel and both you guys positive outlook
I feel much the same about them, glad to have bagged them, but not sure if I’ll be returning to them anytime soon either. This was the most uncomfortable I’ve felt being on my own on the mountains and I was very relieved to find the “path” after the bog. Thanks for watching and thank you for the kind words.
Getting up and down Meall Glas wasn’t the most pleasant experience I’ve had on a walk but I think it was inevitable that I’d end up in conditions like this. Thanks for watching!
Hello sir, glad to hear you echo my sentiments re., this climb. I did them a few weeks past, mind, i did Meall Glas, first. Enjoyed the footage, as always Cheers.
I feel like everyone else that I have spoken to did this in a clockwise direction, which would get that bog out of the way quickly! Did you get better weather for it?
Braw video mate, I did these last April, conditions on Chuil were similiar To yours then it cleared up a good bit by the time we got to Glas. Defo two Munros I wont be bagging again....the descent from Chuil we bum slid almost the entire drop and then the climb up to Glas, well I honestly was on my hands and knees near the summit it was so incredibly steep, I was thankful the grass was dry, wouldnt have liked going up that when it was wet. When I got to the summit I was so relieved. And aye, its a long boggy way back to the car..lol
These were definitely trickier to navigate, mostly due to the lack of a path going by their popularity, or lack there of. The long bog was probably easily to get lost within as well.
After the amazing summer we have had, days like that can be disappointing. I suppose if you're ticking them off, you're going have a few more claggy pathless experiences along the way. Still enjoyed it through and made me want to get back out into the hills - So thank you for sharing. 👍
We were definitely spoiled with the weather we’ve had for the vast majority of our walks so far, but fully appreciate there are going to many days like this one ahead. I think I would have enjoyed it more had my feet not being swimming for the majority of it 😂
Thanks for watching Paul. It’s not the easiest and my approach to Meall Glas was fairly steep, maybe in better conditions I could have found an easier route - Alistair

@@HighlandHikers similar to what you encountered, sir. As you said, there is a haunting eeriness to the summits.
The massive shadows that emerge are quite ominous at times and completely change the walk from how I would expect it be in clear conditions

Found this a hard walk when I did it a few years ago! Enjoyed revisiting it Alastair! Cheers mate. Paul
