Hey, Kevin--I should have guessed I would find you when I did an internet search on this topic. I hope you are still going strong up there, and maybe I will see you in Hatteras again. And thanks for this superb video. I never would have figured all this out on my own. It was exasperating enough even with your excellent tips--I had a hell of time pulling the rear pulley assembly far enough back to seat the eccentric piece. What worked in the end was looping two lengths of lightweight line around the cord, threading those under the rear eccentric/pulley assembly and out the back, and then pulling hard on those while I pulled the eccentric back into place. Then just released the ends of the lightweight line and pulled it out, before installing springs. Whoever designed this thing should be condemned to replace Subaru headlamps for all eternity.
Wow, I'm impressed! I love my Equippe II and hope to keep it for many more years. Your video gave me the confidence to disassemble and clean my track. I always wondered what that bungee cord on the side was for. Thanks for explaining. Kudos Wind Power Surf Shop!!!
Right on! I have bought a mast and boom parts from these guys and they are GREAT! I wholeheartedly recommend buying equipment from them. I always feel satisfied with their interest in my participation in wndsrfng. I have never been treated as a "just another customer". 5 Star Shop
Woo! An excellent informational video Kevin, thanks. I presume you would replace any metal parts with stainless steel. What about the pedal? I see you replaced that, but what did you use, do you have spares? Now if I an only find where I've put my old Mistral mast foot I might fix the sliding mech and be able to use the adjustable mast track again. Currently using a short board mast foot and a big square of brass to grip under the top of the mast track. I have several older boards with both different type tracks including the earlier type with the non folding pedal. One of those pedals has broken off and I think the other is ready to break as well. :¬)
Do these mast tracks support mast bases that have a threaded bolt like this one: chinooksailing.com/collections/mast-bases-pin-style/products/1-bolt-tendon-mast-base-euro-pin-ex ? I ask because the part where the mast base connects to the board has two holes. I'm talking about that narrow white piece that slides in the mast track.
Some people use a 1 bolt base plate with a brads plate in the mast track. Wind NC has UJ parts (and also a video about them), and you can call them. I bet they have that plate part as well.
Hopefully if the 2 bolt plate is on the board, it will be a standard one that allows the regular Chinook pin, right? That video from Wind NC shows how those attach.

Thanks. I used this to help me fix my imco board by canibalising parts from another board.
Do you know if the Mistral mast track from an LCS-XR will fit on a New Malibu? 🏄
Hi Kevin, How are things? I live in Italy near Garda.

Hi, do you still have those Foot-keys like you used in your video? I am looking for anything like that. Greetings Karsten
Anyone still looking for parts like that, currently there is a group on FB that recycles and rehomes old windsurfer parts.
