Mistral Competition SST Longboard Windsurfer

Video of my Mistral Competition SST Longboard windsurfer under repair. Mistral 8mm Slider Nut is being inserted into the mast-track to enable the use of standard mast bases.
Longboard was purchased 2nd hand in Sydney circa 1992. Last time board was in the water was in 1999/2000.

Just a tip for anyone else watching, you can get a big nut made up by most engineering workshops, even a garage mechanic should be able to sort it out for you if you can find a piece of stainless steel or brass. I made one for myself. And am now in the process of trying to reproduce a replacement for the original fixing that you showed. I've made the central stainless plug with a groove around it and one side partly flat. Now I need to design and fabricate the plastic part from nylon.

i has one of these raced it, 1983 for ten years competitive with the equipe. I gave it to a friend , he never sailed it it sits in his garage in toronto now.

I love sailing mine. My last time out was the first weekend in December. But the weather was warm enough for sailing this weekend. I wish I had gone out. Maybe next month if it doesn't get colder.

Wouldn't you know it, tripped going down the front stairs a week later and was out of action for 6 weeks. Then other projects took priority ;) Now waiting for summer...

Good one man. I'll be putting mine back on the water in the next week or two. It was fully working, but I stripped it down for cleaning about 8 years ago, then lost interest. Now I can't find the footstraps or the screws! I see this was February, were your repair successful?

Anyone know where I can get replacement foot straps and copies of retro transfers for my SST Board ?

Hi; İ have a 1989 Mistral Ventura LCS board and it's mast track's sliding hub (which connects to the mast base) has been broken. This part will upgrade the mast base to a new model i get it but what i didn't understand is how will it be moveless? İ guess once the new generation mast base's been turned and tightened up ,the hub becomes moveless is it correct?
