I know right? Ichiro is a shoo-in for the hall, but they have very similar numbers Ichiro .311/.355/.402, 107 OPS+, 59.7 career bWAR Lofton: .299/.372/.423, 107 OPS+, 68.4 career bWAR. Had Lofton played a few more years, he probably would have had 3000+ hits as well.
It really is. I personally think Kenny is a HOFer. If you're a small hall guy I get leaving Kenny out but he had a much better Career than a lot of other borderline guys that got in.
@@ethanricci8741 And as a smaller guy it matters that he excelled in the steroid era, where the "big boys" were getting so much more attention. He also played on better teams where Ichiro was the de facto face of a franchise for a decade. Perception is reality sad to say...

This episode is AMAZING! Kenny Lofton added so much! Love mixing older players with current players. Would love to see the ‘95 @Indians on Bauer Bytes @Momentum.
One of the best moments in my life was seeing Kenny at Northfield Park back in 2018. I went to the meet & greet with my Dad for his birthday. Dad even asked Kenny "what 'Manny being Manny' meant?" Can't give enough props to Kenny. He was my hero growing up and made one of the last birthdays with my Dad beyond special.
To watch the younger generation of baseball just sit and listen to the knowledge of a legend. Soaking it in processing and applying it to their game now. Great video
Kenny Lofton is a Bad Man. I love watching Lofton play. He could hit it , go get it & steal it too. Arm wasn’t the best but the rest was HOF level for about a decade.
MalakianM2S it was probably edited and got awkward. There is no way they’re eating a 3 course meal in 35 minutes. I also think that Kenny is full of it though. Kenny said that he would study pitchers tendencies (Pedro being nasty outside) so if you can study pitchers tendencies as far as location on top of knowing the pitch that’s coming that’s a huge advantage. Hitters today have all the film in the world, Kenny’s view is from when film was limited and filmed with a dinosaur of a set up.
@@Vt2CT 15:23, you may be right, kenny's voice ends abruptly, it may be edited; it's an unlucky cut anyways. His point of view on the peds is spot on, imho, I never underestood why Bauer & Co. think the peds are way below the trash can in "importance".
This has to be the best episode i've seen of Momentum. The whole dynamic is so damn great. The fun talk, the professional talk, Kenny teaching the young, helping elevate Trevor, man, do YT channels get emmys or some kind of awards? As a baseball fan, this is what i was waiting for , MLB's future looks a little bit brighter. Keep up the got work Trevor!!!
Kenny Lofton! My favorite player growing up. I'll never forget when he was injured playing for the Braves vs the Phillies before this game started and he signed autographs literally all the way from near home plate down to the dugout. He must have signed 300-500 autographs that day. He even took a couple minutes and talked to my dad while signing and it stuck with me.
God I love Trevor! Thank you for making baseball fun again. Can't believe I'm watching my first season since Griffey retired. Give em hell, in 2021, Trev!
When I was a kid, in 1995, I went to see the Blue Jays vs the Cleveland Indians at the Sky Dome in Toronto. After the game a guy who worked there told us to wait by a specific gate to get autographs from the Indians. We waited with about 10 other people and some players came out. I got an auto from Jim Thome and then Kenny Lofton came out. I handed him my piece of paper from my mom's purse and a pen and asked for an autograph. Just as he took it someone called to him. He turned to them and handed me back the paper and pen without signing. I was closer than he thought and he pushed me. I stumbled back into a taxi and fell on my back on the ground. My mom looked at me laughing and I dont know why but I said "Why Kenny! Why?!" and my mom lost it laughing so hard. I doubt he remembers this but I do and I think about it when I think about baseball and spending time with my mom. EDIT: This is a good memory. I was a fat kid with poor balance. Not Kenny's fault at all.
Love Trevs story he shares. It’s great that he lets people know that they aren’t the only one that had to go through pain and stress in his teen years.
Bauer outdoes himself again. What a great special. I had only planned to listen to the first few minutes and finish it tomorrow morning. But I ended up listening to the whole thing. Great to see the new school and the old school ways of thinking collide on the social media discussion. We need more of this. ESPN or Fox Sports should pick it up and put it on TV.
Kenny Lofton IS a holl of gamer to me. I got to see him play at Camden yards when he was an Indian. I’m a diehard orioles fan, and I still love Kenny. Trevor, you need more retired players on this show. Such an amazing show man. I’ll never miss a single one of these.
Trevor is doing a great thing by putting this content out there promoting the game and providing insights. He is a great kid who thinks outside the box.
Lofton was my favorite player growing up. Loved the way he played the game. He actually made bunting exciting. Not to mention all the homers he robbed in center.
Awesome episode. Would love to see you feature some of the HOF's that are getting old (Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Rod Carew etc) while you still have the chance. You could connect this generation of players/fans with the past and help keep history alive.
Am I the only one that thinks Kenny is making sense when he thinks that knowing what pitch is coming is a slight advantage cuz literally someone could tell you it’s a slider and you don’t know if it’s gonna be low and away low and in.But compared to knowing where that pitch is,it’s easier to adjust when you know where the pitch
The one thing he is missing though, is how the Astros were just able to spit on the soft stuff all the time and never chase pitches in the dirt. No swings and misses which resulted in them mashing fastballa
Saranjeet Sodhi he also literally said that he would study locations of pitchers where they were strong, does he not think the astros also studied location strengths on top of knowing what pitch was coming?
Saranjeet Sodhi also on top of that, he also commented on analytics and how the game now is driven by it. Did he think about the fact that pitchers know your weakness as a hitter? Say a pitcher knows your weak inside on a fastball, you then get the signal that a fastball is coming, you think the pitcher isn’t going to attack that zone?
Great job guys. Baseball needs to promote the players. Fans want to see the personalities of their favorite players. Show the fans another side of the players. Great job Trevor.
I think Kenny is trying to help these young guys, but I also think that the league is changing. Especially the social media and speaking platform aspects. I think players need to start speaking up more. There is a massively diverse group of people in baseball from so many different walks of life. Hearing those perspectives is a good thing. Getting to know these players on a more personal level is what’s going to keep young people interested in baseball
Without this platform, I would have no idea hunter and jo were such mellow likeable guys. I knew they were top tier prospects, but thats it. ... and kenny stole the show just like he did bases. Kenny needs to be on momentum coaching up the prospects of the game.
Just here to say that Kenny falling off the HOF ballot after one year is one of the greatest HOF travesties ever.
I know right? Ichiro is a shoo-in for the hall, but they have very similar numbers

Fred McGriff is another tragedy put the man in
This was the kenny lofton show and I dont have one problem with it
Three young players all more than happy to learn from one of the greats. Super cool to see Trevor doing so much awesome stuff this year
I want a part 2
Kenny Lofton was a great guest, he’s got some good stories. I’d love to hear from from retired players.
We need a couple of hours of Kenny.
I second that. He’s has some very interesting insight
He was always my favorite player growing up in Cleveland
Dude lofton is woke
Great stuff. I could have easily listened to him talk for a couple more hours.

Yes, The Trevor Bauer Power Hour
Kenny’s knowledge of the game and his stories are so interesting. I would definitely watch a 10 hour Bauer Bytes of just him talking about the game

Pretty sure Hunter is the child of Tiger Woods and Russell Wilson
Definitely see Tiger lol
So excited to see from Jo Adell as an angel fan I am extremely excited to see what he brings to our team!!!
I hope he’s not a bust. 🤞
"Don't even need a trash can for that."
Love it Jo 😂🤣

Kenny Lofton....

I came to the comments to see love for Kenny...was not disappointed. Much deserved for him.
This is so great to watch and listen...a real MLB players talk about practic and MLB issue things....wow!! Thanks Bauer!! from Japan

Kenny is the man. The dude is clearly a HOFer. An absolute embarrassment to not induct him. I love his passion. Thanks for this interview!
You should have about 6 segments with Kenny Lofton. I could listen to him all day.
Jo got the NBA 2k15 mycareer voice😂😂😂
Bauer Bytes are my favorite to hear and see other players. Lofton should do a vlog, he is great to listen to. What a mentor and father figure.
