I honestly love this foundation. I have oily/acne prone skin. Literally every foundation breaks me out, but I can sleep in this stuff and I don’t get a break out. It looks like a second skin and doesn’t make face look like it has more texture like some foundations do. The ONLY negative thing about this is that it is not long wearing on me. Other than that It’s great. I do hate how expensive it is though...
have you tried setting the foundation with a loose powder? Or does it also not last long when it’s set :(
I don't understand their method for matching. They recommended this same one to me and I put on the test that I have VERY dry skin...then others with extremely OILY skin get matched with the same one...🙄

Liz yes. Even with setting powder it doesn’t last all day but it’s still a great daily make up because it’s not too heavy.
i have very oily skin! i was reading your comment and halfway through was like “i’m gonna ask her if it stays on all day” and then i read the rest of your comment. sad lol. i haven’t bought it or even done the 14 free trial thing just because i don’t wanna bother with returning it if i don’t like it so i’m looking at all of these reviews.. my problem is i can have my foundation looking ON POINT when i leave the house and after a few hours my face looks like a pan of grease. i literally carry a white matte powder and brush with me so i can fix my face while i’m out but i’m so annoyed & tired of doing this... does the foundation at least help with the oily-ness? i do face masks weekly for oil control etc.. but i feel like no matter what my face is still GLOWING no matter what & it’s so embarrassing 😒
I got my foundation this week and usually I don't wear primer but for some reason I tried this with primer and HATED it! I am so glad I stumbled onto your review because now I'm going to give it another shot just on bare skin with moisturizer. I am hoping it will help me love it! Thank you! Oh my gosh - it's been everywhere! I love that they let you try before you buy. Wearing it without any serums or primers really was pretty impressive. If you're still thinking about it, I'd recommend trying it for $5! I tried to be as fair as possible with my review but at the end of the day, I think I have other foundations that I like more. I'm so glad you enjoyed! :)

I ordered the concealer and the foundation and the foundation was great it was just the wrong shade for my skin but the concealer was spot on and I was able to send back the foundation for another shade. Am currently waiting for that new one to come in and their customer service is amazing. I also ordered an eyeliner that i got yesterday which I havent had a chance to really try out yet so we will see

Dose of colors meet your hue foundation and concealer paired together are amazing together and both are a natural finish lightweight and don't need to be set with powder at all. Right up your alley. Thank you for doing this video I have never seen an ad for this foundation! The fact that I can try before I buy though I jumped on it

I just had mine today, when I took the quiz it put me on 105 but somehow I didn't think it was the right one. I went with my gut feeling and ordered no. 70 and its a perfect match! It DOES feel like skin. Loving it!

I thought about this foundation and was going to buy it because it had the 14 day return until I saw the price. Then I ended up getting a new bb cream, maybelline dream bb fresh, the one with pink letters and in my opinion it works better than a foundation

I watched another UA-camr who reviewed this product. She took the product quiz and got the recommendations for type of foundation. Then she went to a different computer and took the test again, inputting different results for skin type, desired coverage, undertone, etc. It recommended the exact same formulation. They just want you to think you're getting a custom foundation. It is the same formulation, just in different shades. I don't trust any company that starts off being deceptive.
It's within a range. I experimented with the same thing because I had the same thought. I got recommended shade #44 and shade #60. As far as the actual formula itself goes, I don't know. But I know for sure that the shade range changed for me.
I did the ‘try before you buy’ Option with this make up and the very first time I used it I hated it and send it right back LOL I’m glad to see that an actual beauty influencer wasn’t enamored with it either! Makes me feel a little less crazy LOL
I have been using this foundation for 6+ months. The only one and the color is the same as your bottle that I will use. Wears natural and all day...no skin breakouts
I’m so glad you did an extra wrap with primer. I thought I was crazy! This makeup is not meant for primer or much buildable products. Uhhh... my search continues

I bought into it. Received it, loved it the first time! After a couple more tries, it wasn't as glamorous looking, definitely had the dry spots and break-up in the same area as everyone else I've seen review it plus other areas. It looked Really powdery by the end of the day, and then the next few times after.
However, I didn't return it (I have a problem with procrastinating) so I paid full price. I'm not super into wearing foundation in the first place, so it is better than some brands that I do own, not a total loss. It just wasn't as wonderful as advertised.

Ahh - just try it!!! It IS a good foundation - you just have to play around with the products you use underneath. Personally, using a primer ruined it for me. I say the closer to bare skin, the better. It really does melt into your skin! I just couldn't justify keeping it & wanted to be transparent so I added that last clip. Try it with and without a primer and let me know how it goes for you!!

I was a Double Wear Este Lauder girl for years. Have to say, I will be switching to IM now. Cost about same but it covers better and feels silkier. I bought the primer and love it. I will try the blushes soon. I love the brush it came with. I got an eye liner I never asked for but ended up liking it as well. Concealer is ok. I can’t decide if I like my old one better. Time will tell.

Hi Amanda. First of all, THANK YOU for doing this nice video for us. Anyhow, I took that "test" at Il Makiage, also, and I just got my test back today, and they suggested the exact same thing as they did for you--SHADE # 60.
But WOW...now in looking at their site and their swatches, I would never have picked that shade 60, because even though they have me as NEUTRAL, I do have more peachy-pink undertones than olive-yellow.
Anyhow, in looking at your application, I see that the #60 looks slightly too green on you. (jmho). But it could be my monitor, so don't fear!
Or possibly, you are like me, and need a bit more pink in your foundation and definitely less yellow.
Hum? Gee--so now, what do we do?
Every single time that I have ordered Foundation from various companies, including NARS, the match is always too yellow on me.
For me, the only company that was able to match my tone is LANCOME.
LANCOME got it right because they saw that I do have some pink tones, somewhere in my skin (deep down) and possibly you do too?
So here I am back to square one.
I really wanted to try out this company's Foundation, since it seems less MATTE than the Lancome I have used.
I hate to have to buy TWO foundations from Il Makiage and mix them together to get my actual tone.
That's what I had to do w/ NARS, btw, and ended up spending about $100.00 on 2 colors (ie: Mont Blanc and Deauville) in order to get the closest match to my skin.

I just ordered ilmakiage but haven't received it yet. But as for really great foundations, I recently found the absolute best! I like to try new ones all the time, but I bought Ofir about a month ago and use it every day. I love love love it. Full coverage but lightweight and perfect match to my skin. And they always have specials so it's a great deal. Just wanted to let you know. 😁

I tried this foundation and concealer (what a mess how Covid is affecting trying on foundation colors) and although the colors were NOT a good match for me despite answering their on-line questionnaire - the customer service has been very helpful in trying to get their product into my hands. Waiting on a new color after uploading pictures of my non-makeup face (uggh) so they could determine "what" shade to put me in. The day I wore the wrong color - the coverage was great and it stayed flawless on my 50+ age skin. Interested in how the new shade will look.

Part of the questionnaire is they ask what base product you use. Maybe, if you choose primer instead of moisturizer, it would work better? Not sure.

Hi amanda. If you want that type of foundation get the dose of colors meet your hue foundation and concealer doesnt need to be set and a light layer is all that's needed. Is anyone able to try for 14 days? Nm just checked everyone can do it. If it turns out well I'm doing it. I'm ready to hit buy. 44 dollars is very reasonable as well. I cannot tell you are wearing any foundation! I didnt see the redness you were but lights blow and wash out colors. With 2 coats it still looks extremely natural. I asked for a medium coverage and I think I would only need 1 coat. You are the one who got me on the Laura mercier secret brightening powder and I cant get enough of it

Wow the bathroom lighting it looks great! I hate bathroom lighting. Bathroom mirror makes me look like I have huge bags on my undereyes and yours didnt. Honestly to me it doesnt matter over 7 hours I dont need a foundation to last more than that. I don't see any splotchiness. Looks great. I'll give it a try.
I was shocked by how it looked in the bathroom - the light in there is TERRIBLE!! And I agree, I don't usually wear it for much longer than that either.
I know this is older but they matched me with shade 120 and my skin is exactly like yours with more yellowish undertones

Fell for their Insta ads too. Was lazy to return it in time not to be charged for it. For me: not worth 50 bucks, kinda thick and cakey, also not a precise color match.

I just got my trial box today and I went with their foundation, concealer AND the primer. OMG! The primer was this soft veil, my skin loved it. It’s only day one, but I looked for an IL Makiage video to help with other’s experiences. To note, I rec’d an email yesterday when my pkg was due to arrive, then sent me a nice email with a $25 code due to the expectation of arrival and it being at my door the next morning. Additionally, I got a 2nd email with a $20 code. Going to give this all a whirl, if I keep it I will use the codes towards their lip products, but most of them are sold out. 🥰
I just got mine today! I'm excited to use it tomorrow. I was in a focus group and got it free! Mine's free shop I am keeping it. I can't tell what the new product is but it was amazing!

You only pay $5 to try! If you decide to keep it, they'll charge the remaining amount on your card. :)
Yeah its 49. The 5 is for shipping, not for the foundation, so if you keep it then you're buying the foundation.
They do charge $5 but they hold $49 for a few days to prevent fraud bc I ordered one and saw they charged me $49! But if you email them and tell them they will give you a $30 gift card!!
How much you used in one pump on one cheek is what I use for my whole face. I prefer as sheer as I can get it

Thank you for your honest review! It melted off my face and I tried 3 different primers. I absolutely agree it’s best with just moisturizer and applies best with a sponge. I also returned mine since it was not worth the $45. I do not recommend this foundation!

I would like to know what other make up you used with the foundation please. I love the look and my skin tone is light to medium
I am wearing this right now. It does feel very light, which I like, but it is definitely caking around my nose! I have mature skin, but should that matter? I will try it again tomorrow with additional moisture cream and also try to build it a little bit--sunscreen was not invented yet when I was a kid, so I got a lot of sun and have the spots to prove it. I also have Thrive, and I think I might like that better. Haven't used it more than a couple times during Covid, so I will try that again too. Have you tried it, and what do you think of it if you have? Fun and informative video. Thanks!

I am not a makeup wearer but am getting older and wanted come coverage, I am not the savviest on putting on a makeup but this one was great for me and I am going to keep it. I know it is pricey but I do really like it.

Hello!! I did try this foundation and it didn’t really work with my skin either, I do have a combination skin, acne and a few fine lines, at first I tried with only moisturizer and as my face started to get oily the foundation started to break up like creating spots looking like blemish I would say, then I tried another day without moisturizer and did the same as well it sat in my pores but washed away other parts of the face, it doesn’t really work on oily skin.
I just bought it and I can wear this without a concealer. I used a primer. It feels good with primer. It feels like I dont have any makeup on. It looks very natural. My only issue was that when it came I was on vacation for 2 weeks so I missed out on the return. Also are they going to charge me for the "gift"? Are they going to continue to bill my card since this right now is a one-time buy? Please let me know. I am using 150, but could have went one shade darker for the summer. It is good for fall winter when my skin tends to get lighter.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting is one of my all time favorites. I have it in a few shades for the different times of year. But they'll find your perfect match at any counter!

No problem! I have a few that I really enjoy - the Clinique Even Better and Beyond Perfecting are two of my favorites. I also love the NYX Fit Me (the dewey one - not the matte)!
the only con to me is the only color you get to try for free for 14 days is the one THEY choose for you when i thought off the back that it was too dark. i wanted one shade lighter and it wasnt an optiopn

I also got shade 60. At first it seemed to get the right shade but then it oxidized so much that I’m probably gunna have to get shade 40

Did you use IL Makiage primer or another brand? I wonder if their primer would of "played" better with the foundation.
I took the test and it says I need the 40, but it just looks like that may be too dark for me right now as my skin tends to be light in the winter and spring. I'm too scared to get it... but I really want to try it.
Try it for $5!! It's definitely worth a shot. :)
You can try it out for 2 weeks and if you don't like it just send it back. I got the recommended 040 color and I'm trying it out first.
