I have a wartime Lucas 12v 2 brush Dynamo fitted, the Lucas RF91 control box is stripped out and I fitted a modern digital regulator DVR3 I think. From this company: edsltd.ddns.net/contactus.html
@@NottsAndDerbyLHG39-45 They are a nightmare to find! Took me 6 months to find one for £50. It was cheap as the internals were untested and had some damage, as I was installing a digital regulator it was of no matter. If you are not looking for perfact visuals, just get any 1950s or early 60s regulator and use that as an enclosure to hide the digital regulator.
@@NottsAndDerbyLHG39-45 That's right, it's the Ford made dynamos that have them. The Lucas ones just have it all built into the control box, I think that's why lucas call them control boxes as it's not just a voltage regulator.
Fine job Alastair.

does your v8 have a 2 or 3 brush dynamo, if it's 2 what regulator are you using we have a 2 brush for our Mk1* universal
