You forgot to teach Mom Malaysian style Spoonwork. Mom was using the fork to scoop the rice, typical of western newcomers to Malaysia. This will transform sooner than I think. Mom enjoyed the nasi lemak. Great. Bring on the next video.
The original Nasi Lemak is Anchovy, sambal, peanuts, boil egg and cucumber. Now you have chicken, beef and so on? Your mum is very good in saying in malay.

I love my nasi lemak with chicken rendang and/or beef rendang/cockles rendang, some vege, and all the basic condiments. Yummy.

Boiled eggs are easier to chew since some fried eggs are cold & gotten hard after waiting there for awhile & taste a little of the sambal first to adjust the tastebuds , as different people have various tastes! It's fun to watch foreigners trying out their first foreign dishes! If not sure about the Hygiene Standard of certain stalls or shops , safer to order Fried Rice with mixed vegetables , chicken or fish , as the heat of the frying might killed off any viruses or bacteria lurking in the meat ingredients! I choose vegetarian fried rice when my stomach is not up to top form while travelling & choose Soya Milk rather than Dairy Milk! 🙏 Thank You So Much for sharing! Aku tak sangka untie ini dia punya lidah memang lidah orang orang "MALAYSIA" lah jugak ya.sebab apa cuba kita tengok untie ini bila dia makan pun untie tidak ada rasa janggal sedikit lidahnya dengan rasa pedasnya itu sudah perkara biasa baginya..tentunya beliau sudah biasa makan pedas dan makan masakan orang Asia..juga bila beliau menyebut "saya suka Malaysia..tu tak nampak sikit pun kerelaan lidah dia , memang betul betul lidah melayu laa...syabas untie.nanti selalulah datang ke Malaysia dan boleh mencuba masakan yg lain pula..tapi rambut untie tu..ermmm..kemaslah sikit untie ya..biar nampak cantik,comel gitu..!!!
