4 years is a long long wait to try out Nasi Lemak. 4 years of long wait and you ate the most common Nasi Lemak. There are many many more GREAT Nasi Lemak besides the one you ate. You should Go to Uptown Damansara in Petaling Jaya to eat the Nasi Lemak.
She definitely needs to travel all around indonesia even more for "nasi goreng". There are so many kinds of "nasi goreng" here, even in jawa island alone. There is "nasi goreng ijo", it has green color. And it comes from either green chilies or vegs. Perhaps she has tried, "nasi goreng kambing" (the lamb fried rice). But as french like her, i would recom her "nasi goreng ndeso"/"nasi goreng bawang merah" (shallots fried rice). There is also "nasi goreng padang". Its from sumatera island.

For authentic Malaysian Nasi Lemak Kak Chuk in Kg Baru is highly recommended. Mamak's version we can get it in any mamak restaurant/stall.
