We have communities that live on water wherever you find water because their way of life is tied to their environment. Here in Lagos we have some communities who lives on the coastal line. They are predominantly fisher men. Beautiful Content ❤️🥰
African Tigress: Congratulations to you for this new remarkable video from Hong Kong, China this weekend to shows this great “Floating Houses” on a river in February of 2023❤❤❤
Hi African Tigress, here in America they only show us the wealthy side of Hong Kong!!! I would have never known that some of the people live on water!!! TFS!!!
In Asia, it rains a lot and over populated so they build those houses on water or they build those houses in case of floods. Every country in the world has poor sides. I'm here in America, and I knew that since elementary.

Tai O is not far from the big budda and is a popular tourist attraction. Before covid ppl will visit Tai O for seafood hence all the resturants. You can buy fresh and dried seafood there . Is an interesting place to visit. They use to have boats that will.take visitors out to the ocean to catch a glimpse of Hong Kong's Pink dolphin. A lot of the sea ppl settled there but many have moved into cities and their way of life is sadly vanishing and destined for the history books .
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Thank you for the interesting vlog! I'm left with some questions now. Why is the place so deserted and still? They don't seem to look their doors? What if it's rainy or windy, are they okay? ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Wow African tigress, only you have the courage to show this side of Hongkong to the world. All they show are the luxuries but hide the poverty. Thank you for showing that.

Shoo! Bathong! Shocking indeed. At least it’s clean . It looks like Makoko in Lagos Nigeria . Do you know if they have schools, clinics , police stations etc ? Well done Ausi…Sis
Places like this never make the news only the highrises and skyscrappers make the news, but in africa it will be all over the news. This is why africans must tell their own stories. am sure no one knows places like this exist in hongkong.
Very interesting Tigress, she might v given u a tour but u didn't t ask her sge greeted u am sure if u askt she would ve. This is very interesting Tigress. Sabbatical should visit this place he can speak the language maybe he could give us their history am curious now. X Tigress
Yes, Tanka people are poor outcast for hundreds of years and mostly lived on Junk boat/Lorcha. Now our language and way of life on water all gone. Tai O old name is Fan Gwei Tong, in Tanka speak it means “Sea of Angmos”, a trading hub with Westerners.
@@AFRICANTIGRESS fun fact- “Hong Kong” is actually a name in Tanka speak as well - “Port of Incense”. Still dont understand why Chinese still use Hong Kong as the SAR name instead of Xiangang(Mandarin) or Heung Gong (Cantonese) while we actually has absolutely zero indigenous rights compare to land people.
Just a little bit of an insight! This problem is only common in populous places including many countries/places in Asia and South American, and a few West African countries. In addition, such communities face the same socio-economic challenges and therefore, it would be inconceivable to utilise the term “worst” when trying to bring comparison where the term “Africa” is misused for a country.

Indeed in every society just like Africa, there must be poor people
Yes, all countries, regardless of economic status have poor.
Talk about a waterfront view.
Now we to see the poorer areas of HK. Good luck to them.
Not only African countries have slum. Thanks for updating
Great vlog. Obviously, the Hong Kong Tourist Agency is not sponsoring you.

If this was in Africa they call it a slum.
I wonder why they choose to live on water while the mountains are empty.
