- Hi, my name is Virginia & I run a food tour company in Hong Kong called Humid with a Chance of Fishballs Tours. I was featured on Netflix's Restaurants on the Edge series, in the Hong Kong episode as the Hong Kong Street Food Expert and also helped with the location scouting and casting of the restaurant!
We decided to visit Tai O Banyan Tree, the restaurant we selected for their episode in Hong Kong to visit Cliff and Charlene to ask them some BEHIND THE SCENE questions. This was filmed in Oct 2019, so none of us had seen the episode yet. Sorry, I think this was only filmed in 1080p, so it's probably best to watch this on mobile.

after the make-over how was the food?
I wasn't there before the make-over so not sure what the difference was before and post. The dishes that were on the show, unfortunately, we didn't know those were the things on the menu... So we ended up just trying the light things, like the cheesecake. I liked it =) but don't know if they had that before vs. after. The only think i did notice was they did convert the middle table back from seats to more of a merchandise table... but it could also be due to the fact that the protests really hit the tourism industry in Hong Kong so maybe they felt like they didn't need that many seats for their restaurant?
It looks like they are more of a shop rather than per se a restaurant
