Yes! I was just in Thunder Bay and talked to the locals, I was surprised to find there was a big Finnish influence like you said. Looks like you guys had a good time!
So cool! Yeah the Finnish influence and food was so neat to see.
I've lived here for 40years and love my home town! I would add that we have many Pow Wows up on Anemki Wajiw, the stands in the background at the base of the mountain are surrounding a most excellent sacred dance arena.Fort William First Nations hosts largest gathering usually at the end of June and all are welcome. Thanks for highlighting Thunder Bay!
Thank you for stopping in! I love showing my out of town guests around as there is a lot to experience. I am going to post this on my facebook page and see if it gets grabbed for marketing.
This is a pretty good video, I was searching info on Thunder Bay and this is one of the few videos that isn't just a collage of photos from Google
I was born in Thunder Bay. Have a couple relatives there still.. I miss the area
I was there in the summer and I love it there
Most summers are beautiful. We sometimes have lots of ticks. The grass is green mostly. The night life can get exciting and easily put yourself in the hospital.
Great vlog! Where was the last shot taken? The view was beautiful :)
It was taken at the longest suspension bridge in Canada
🔥
Thanks for the video I really like it!! I think it’s awesome you can pick your own amethyst!! This is awesome, especially because in the US amethyst products can be pricey. :)
I totally agree! It is so cool to see where the amethysts are mined, it’s like a sea of purple 💜
I was born in Thunder Bay.
The influence of the lake has everything to do with the climate here. Being near the shoreline it may be cool because of the breeze off of the cold waters of lake superior and in neighbourhoods farther from the lake it could be hot. The highest temperature I’ve ever experienced is 40°C Which is over 100°F. That doesn’t happen very often, your average summer day is around 27.
Everything is nicer when the sun is shining.
Cony Island sliders....
Never knew about such a huge Finnish population in Thunder Bay. I was just browsing at cities from the emptiest regions in Canada, only to find out you can get pancakes and sauna there.
2:00 that is a petrified giant tree stump
Love it.
I’ve lived here my whole life. The outdoor recreation opportunities are convenient and inexpensive. The weather is trying to turn you into a popsicle half the year. Good employment and your balling in the hood. Keep your big city lifestyle to yourself and you’ll have a quite time. Our rent is just over $800 a month all inclusive. Most of the folks are over 50.
Since I moved from there to Vancouver I’ve gotten to try driving a Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls, Bentley and a Bugatti… you just can’t find anything like that there.. I used to see a Sunfire and think wow, nice car!! In Richmond a Benz is pretty much standard issue. I ride the bus, but I’ve met some insanely cool people here! The first time I met Steve Jobs he threw me out of a moving limo 😂
@@feederx08 Your the guy who bought Australia! I knew it. I'm so grateful you responded to my comment. I'd love to shake you hand but your hiding behind a computer screen.
I would cross that bridge.
Did u know, Thunder Bay, unorganized is so cold that it can be 36 or 28 degrees lower than that? NOW ONE CAN EVEN LIVE THERE to stay alive, where a snow jackets and a scarf also a snow hat so u won’t freeze
I would very much cross that suspension bridge!
The views from the bridge were incredible!
@@RunTheAtlas Grew up in Sudbury Ontario and the wife and I live near Toronto now.I must have driven through Thunder bay 18 times in my life. After hearing these Hillbillies talk and laugh about killing natives I'm ashamed of them.DO NOT VISIT this murder city. My wife is Itlalian and I can't even trust that they won'yt murder her. These people need education and empathy up there in Hillbilly Land.
BUT, do go to Newfoundland and meet good people that are loving and kind and ;and is like art to the eyes.
What no one tells you about Thunder Bay, is it is always in the Top 5 to Top 10 Crime towns as per the yearly CSI, and held number 1 from 2014 -17 for Homicides
Got nothing on Winnipeg lolz
We’re all not having to put bars on the windows of our homes yet, but I recommend not parking your 66 Corvette Stingray at the curb overnight. The homeless pretty much kick the crap out of each other, it’s fun to watch at a distance😊

Way to go Thunder Bay
Some people were comparing it to Detroit.
Felt like 500miles
You are from the states “favor” vs “favour” spelling gave it away. Tbay is a great town. I have driven TBay to Duluth and back. Nice suggestion, just watch for a lot of deer!
The picture you show is not the sleeping giant. That's Lion Rock
Correct, which is in the sleeping giant provincial park
@@RunTheAtlas yes but the sleeping giant is the large rock that looks like a litterall indiginous style giant laying on his back out in the bay looking from the water front out into lake superior i m glad to see people.seeing the beauty of our city and the area as their is alot of ugly around here aswell theirs also 2 down town cores as thunder bay used to be 2 seperate citys prior to the 1970s where you were on the bridge by the cp station is down town port arthur and the south side down town core used to be fort william ontario their is another historic cp station on that side of town aswell glad you guys enjoyed your time here ❤❤
@@chriszachary8104 Doesn't look like they were even in the south side of Thunder bay and if so it sure wasn't for long.
i would not go on that bridge!!!!!!! heheheh
my ex and I's initials r caarved right on the railing at kakabeka falls where she records the down stream. slayyyy
Yes like soutu Park episode wtf
BUUUT there's NO passenger train service in Thunder Bay
Sad!!
As a former Thunder Bay resident, I can confirm that Vancouver is way better. 😢 instead of 8 months of winter we get one. There’s less drunken Indians, as the type you meet here are the tall proud Indians who work and drive expensive vehicles.
In Thunder Bay your chances of meeting anyone cool is less than zero, unless they’re visiting you. I could talk for hours about all of my adventures since moving here, suffice it to say that the day you put that town behind you will be 😂the start of your actual life. ✌️🧐
Average Canadian
Little makeup
It’s a prison town
This comment is sad to see. I am from Thunder Bay, as I am sure you are, and it is only a prison if your mind favours it as such. You sound like my boys who can be pessimistic , not seeing the light from the dark that is of the self.
I'm in Thunder Bay right now for a family wedding. We always feel welcome here for sure. ❤

Watch walking dead….
Was it shot here?
