Well done. You may have created a crawler in me. Before i never understood the appeal of crawling but now I get it. In this fast pace world we live in its always go go go faster faster faster. With crawling, you take your time and go slow. I now get "it"
I purchased the blue ... they had the special addition Black I asked the sales guy at the Hobby shop what was the difference ... Just the black he claim ... I love metallic blue , then when home I looked up the special addition , and I was a little disappointed to fine out that its not only the Black color, but a Chrome roll bar and Chrome side view mirrors ... I since have installed the Pro light kit, the chrome roll bar w/lights and rock light just yesterday .... really really love the look of the 79 F-150 Thanks again ..
Just picked up the K10 High Trail today. It looks awesome! I can't wait to get it down to the river tomorrow and try it out on the rocks and trails. Thanks for the video!
Another good review Adam you are certainly very thorough with your reviews some of the people that do these reviews just skip through missing out what i consider important things.
Great video. I have been loving my brown f150 high trail. I'm think about trying 2.0 tires so I can drop the body a touch without the wheels rubbing. I put a 550axe kit in it and it's crazy fast on 3s but a lot of fun. Beautiful truck even with the road ready but my stickers are coming up too.
I've seen a lot of videos on this Ranger & notice how much tire scrub there is with the 2.2's. I have the Blue one & I'm thinking the same about dropping the tires & wheels to the 1.9's just to give a little more clearance & less scrub.
@@ghrobbs I went with the SSD 1.9 chrome 5 slot wheel because it looks like what came on a lot of them back in the 70’s. I also went with the Proline TSL Super Swamper XL because that was a popular tire back then. I also dropped my shock size down to 90mm RC4WD scale shocks with the red shock boots. Mine is strictly a trail truck and I something as scale as I could get it.
i love my TRX4 F150. I got Bigfoot blue! Full light kit and chrome light bar! otherwise stock. It's a beast in snow and trails! even crawls good stock. Just lowering the springs. I am hoping with the release of the trx4m high trail chevy, that f150 will be next so i can get a black 1/18th version
Adam as far as the Push bar ... I ordered at my hobby Shop they gave me part # 8138 .. , opened it and saw that the way it hooks onto the bumper the hook area wasn't right , I noticed yours is the same but you have it installed where the hook lies on top of the bumper .. the correct push bar is Part # 8066. just pointing that out cause I noticed it ... I'm sure you know ... Thanks for all you do
I made the same mistake and ended up with the push bar for the '79 Blazer 😅 Definitely does not fit the Ford! Thankfully that's a 12 dollar part! I'll read the fine print next time lol
I have the blue. I made a Bigfoot clone with terra tires and chrome everything including the headlight bezels. Get the Bluetooth and app just for the lights! ❤mine!
I have a all black Defender that has the full hobbywing setup and a monster torque Servo it's such a good crawler even though the weight balance isn't ideal but I will admit I've had my eye on the Blazer High Trail Edition it just looks so damn good
So is that your personal outside crawler course or is that like your local crawler clubs? Love the videos like always! Right when I though I didn’t want another Traxxas you make this one look appealing! Lol
@@CapeCrawlers that awesome ! I wish my locals would want to do that ! My local community is not the best. I am trying to build a more elaborate course on my side yard of my home but it’s still a work in progress.
Thanks for the video and demo of the truck. I like both styles of body's, chevey & the Ford. The crawl mode was ok & do believe Traxxas should make a smoother better crawl mode. It just wasn't smooth or slow enough. Was hoping to see better wheel or axel movement left to right, I thought in some of your shots that when leaning right the left front tire was to high & should have been either touching or much lower for contact of other rock that could help crawling instead of the one tire in front . Just my thought on truck. I like the truck & all you done to it. Can you buy the same extra body from Traxxas.
Beautiful truck there man👌👍 I have already payed for mine in metallic brown here in Australia and been waiting for over 1 year. But what really upsets me is the lack of supplies and support here in Australia. And the way Traxxas sue everyone, and make it very difficult to run electronic components from other manufacturers. Here in Australia traxxas only offers a 30day warranty where Arrma offers 2years warranty!!! Traxxas have been described as the Apple of the RC world. Like Apple makes its customers use Apple iPhone apps tracxas forces its customers to use Traxxas batteries which are pretty sub standard compared to other batteries available. Then there is the inherent problems with servo failure, motors burning out and damn traxxas force us to buy Traxxas. I can say this right from the beginning that i wont be running a Traxxas battery. Im going to make a converter to plug into the ESC and solder that to my own battery plugs. Same goes with the servos. So i can run aftermarket parts . If only traxxas had not tried to kill the competition. For instance if you had an Arrma they run spektrum electrics which are superior. Tamiya let you run what ever electrics you want and so do Kyosho and Schumacher. F&ck Traxxas. Im only buying this truck because rhe body shell and the TRX 4 chassis platform is quite capable and the scale bodies are awesome. But everything else about Traxxas suck.
You recently reviewed the Redcat Accent Fusion which looks awesome. I’m between that and this as my first 1/10 scale crawler. I have a Traxxas Hoss so I have the 3s batteries and charger for the TRX4 already. Also my local hobby shop carries all the extra parts I ever may need for the TRX4 near by. The Redcat is $150 cheaper though and seems to have a better motor and servo. It looks to be a much better crawler. That said, I will be a mostly doing trail / streams with occasion rock crawling. Any thoughts?
Based on part availability and your primary usage of the truck, I would go with the trx4. The fusion is going to be at home on the hard stuff whereas the trx4 is way more versatile
Comp crawlers are hardcore performance focused trucks that sacrifice the scale appearance but gain huge capabilities. The Vanquish stance is a good one and right around the same price. The redcat ascent is another one and it's significantly cheaper.
Man, I wanna get this so bad!! Probably go red with it though. Lol I just wonder if Injora will make a chassis for it or not. 🤔 Be interesting if they did.
I want these +7mm hex hubs from Injora, to make my scx10 wider. Will the fit the aluminum beadlock rims from Injora? The place where the screw is is in a kind of „hole“ and surrounded by decorative screws. Will I be able to get it into the outer side? I hope you know what I‘m trying to say😂
I wish it was promoted! I tried to make it fun because the high trail has been out for a while and there are lots of reviews on it. I just picked mine up and wanted to make a fun video on it
I forgot to add here in Australia these retail at $1100.00 Australian dollars and the newer 2021 TRX 4 Ford Bronco is $1200.00 Australian dollars.when you factor in upgrading electronic components and adding metal differential housings and axle weights you could be looking at adding another $1500.00 or more.

So dope i have blue ford absolutely solid capable truck i have 5 traxxas nothing ever broken in 2 years sonce i started buying rc again
I shouldn't have watched this video. Now, I want one! Killer driving bro.
It’s funny because the first thing a lot of us are doing is putting 1.9 wheels and 4.75 tires on them. It makes them look more period correct.

@offroad1911 awesome! I'm new to the RC world and I thank you greatly for your reply & input. Take care.
i have the brown one. it crawls pretty good for being top-heavy tbh

I am hoping so / figuring they will

I’m surprised you didn’t put some brass on that before taking it out , great looking truck 👍
Thats a good looking truck!

Ik you didn’t know that it was a thing yet but you should have gotten the red k10 to match the trx4m high trail

That’s crazy! You’re a patient person!
I'm heavily invested in Axial, so have no Traxxas vehicles. I do wish I had lockers.
Very realistic 👌
you should get an ess for it so it sounds like it has a gas guzzling V8
Love the black, but blk is so unforgiving, every scratch shows.
Facts
I love it
I got the black high trail. I noticed on pavement the wheels wobble really bad. Everything is tight. Does your wheels do the same?
Sweet

Sorry, scx24 of course…
What wheels are those?
Just ordered one, came with a 4000 lipo, whats the run time
Depends how you drive it, but with a 4000mah it should be ~30-45 minutes of good usage
Great looking truck in black, just to bad it has square headlights, can't win em all. Superb video as always!
79's has square lights, 78's had round ones.
But there is no real winch for it... then you have to replace the bumper with the one from a Defender 🙄
I can tell this is a promotional video because it has music and whoever is milk made this video is not talking about anything about the car
I wish it was promoted! I tried to make it fun because the high trail has been out for a while and there are lots of reviews on it. I just picked mine up and wanted to make a fun video on it
