e-web.top/best-sellers-in-computer-routers I just walked through our apartment; between my husband and me, I count 25 web-enabled devices. That number doesn’t include light bulbs. Most of these gadgets are connected to the Internet *at this moment.* Our friends make fun of us because we have totally embraced the concept of the “Internet of Things.” Besides the usual gadgets (iPads, phones, game consoles), we use a Nest thermostat, a Nest Cam, Philips Hue bulbs, an Amazon Echo on our kitchen countertop, and a Sonos. Far from automating our home, we’ve instead created a TON of headaches for ourselves. We live in a waking nightmare. The “Internet of Things” is here, and it’s miserable.
I never understand why ppl play music in the background when doing tutorial videos. It's obvious ppl are trying to learn & the loudness of the music is really distracting. Competing sounds is not good.
I wish someone would make a video like this and say, "Now unplug your modem...and by all laws of physics you shouldn't be able to continue listening to me."
sir You are better than my teacher she talk Jargon that i don't need to learn i just do packet tracer and understand them, she is completely no idea too
So I recently got a router and I'm not sure if I'm suppose to plug in the Ethernet cable into the wall? Does it need to be plugged in the wall( Ethernet plug )?
Hello, sir! Thank you for the video. I have a question, my wifi router does not come with a modem, so can I still use the internet connection and connect to wifi or do I need to purchase a wifi modem?
You need a modem. There is no wifi modem since modems only connect your home network to your internet provider's network. There are gateway devices that include a modem, router, and wifi all in one unit though.
Thank you, but didn't you miss the part where I should actually enter some details to set up the router. I am sure there is a part where I should enter something like a default IP address made up of four sets of digits with dots between them. No? I may have missed it.
I'm a 10 year old and i know a lot about technology even routers and modem and cable and wifi and lte and sim cards and i love your videos so thx for making these videos
not sure if you'd see this since this video came out 9 years ago but, when I use ethernet it disconnects every device using the wireless network and my pc that's using the ethernet is the only one that gets internet connect, which is annoying, so I have 4 ports underneath my modem box and 5 behind my router and and when I plug my ethernet cable into any port it would disconnect every wireless connection and onmy give me a wired one and I'm not sure which search terms to use to find a solution on UA-cam but yea.
What's the model number of your router/modem? I would try unplugging the router and modem from power for about a minute or two and then plug them back in. See if that helps. If not, you may need to do a factory reset. If it still doesn't help, you may need to replace the router.
I think it's crazy in 2019 that I NEED a laptop to set up my internet connection. Not a PS4, smart TV , or tablet which I have all tried, you NEED a laptop.

I have a modem router combo. I have another router. I want the modem router combo to only be a modem and leave the routing to the other router. Any idea on how to do this ?
I know you posted the comment 4 months ago, but here's how to do it: You need to go to your modem/router page which you do by typing either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into the URL bar, log in. Default username and password is usually "admin" and "password". Go to advanced tab and you just need to find "bridge mode". Once it's in bridge mode the modem/router combo will act as just a modem so then you can plug in a router.
gabe pan Well usually you would run it along the walls with wire clips but if you want to really hide them then you would have to get a cable raceway of some sort. But I personally think that adhesive wire clips do the job quite well.
I have a router-modem of netgear d1500 n300 model and i want to use wifi using ethernet cable via the router modem but there is no internet light indicating active connection,so what should i do
He mad it confusing at first cause he connected the router to the modem with it plugged in, when it shouldn’t be plugged in when you first connect them
Okay I have Frontier the newer router version but there is a red light and I don't know what it is most of them are green beside the blue light which the internet the red light is like scribble line and its the second one do know what that is
Typically, you have a gateway device from your ISP. This is an all-in-one unit that includes a modem, router, Wi-Fi, and network switch. You would just need a network cable (ethernet) running from the gateway to your PS4. The modem is what connects your home to your ISP's network through the phone line (DSL) or coaxial (cable internet). The router is the device that routes IP packets between networks (in this case, between your home network and the Internet). The network switch allows you to connect your devices to your home network.
On the new router, you can change its settings. You can change the SSID (Wifi name) and password to that of the old wifi network. That way, your devices automatically connect to your new router. You'll have to login to the router to configure it. In general, you go to its management IP address on your browser and login. The details are usually on a label on the bottom or side of the router. A lot of routers also have an app that they try to push onto you to use that you can use to configure it. As far as the router not having some IPs, I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.
That depends entirely on your internet provider. If you have DSL, it would be a phone cable (RJ-11). if its cable internet, it would be a coax cable. if its fiber internet, you have a fiber cable. If you have a stand-alone modem, you connect an ethernet cable from the modem to your router.
So if I get a new router do I have to set up a new password username, and all that, and will it have to be different or the same as my internet provider information?
Thanks Adam Sandler!

Thank you for not fixing my problem
If you don't connect the WAN to anything does the LAN network still work?
So if I get a new router do I have to set up a new password username, and all that, and will it have to be different or the same as my internet provider information?
