VN24 - Truck crashes into end of traffic jam at Kamen intersection

- VN24 - Sep 12, 2023 - Kamen A1 (Kamener Kreuz) / Germany - A 58-year-old female truck driver has been seriously injured in an accident on the A1 freeway. Apparently, she hit the rear of a southbound driving Semitrailer with full force. The latter had to slow down for traffic reasons and was therefore traveling very slowly. The female driver in the approaching truck obviously recognized this traffic jam situation too late. The complete driver's cab was separated from the vehicle in the accident in the middle of the Kamen intersection and fell onto the side. The female truck driver was trapped inside and had to be freed by firefighters. A rescue helicopter brought an emergency doctor to the scene. Vehicle traffic had to be diverted to the A2 freeway in the direction of Hanover at Kamener Kreuz for the entire duration of the accident. This was followed by a comprehensive accident analysis by a special police team and the recovery of the vehicles by tow trucks from the Kollmer and Horstmann company. The accident truck was seized by the police for further investigation of the brake system.

den aufgestellten hubschrauber auf dem hügel sehe ich sehr oft , vielleicht lenkt der vom verkehr ab , 2 bis 3 sekunden reichen schon

Yes, you are right. But the A! and A2 are both known for many truck accidents especially the A2 which runs east into Poland. For cars it is the most dangerous Interstate (Autobahn)

Unfortunately a familiar situation on this stretch of road. See piston Karl & the gang were busy. You have to wonder, does the helicopter play a part in this. 🤔
If you notice the helicopter was behind the collision. It was cited in only one collision and the driver was cited for failure to pay attention to traffic.
Lots of collisions due to traffic backing up. Wonder if the Autobahn folks are using speed control in the area to prevent collisions.
Sounds like they desperately need it across this junction because there are so many RTC's at this intersection of the high-way, I've been through this intersection many time and never got myself into trouble but I was alway's watching my speed and my distance between myself and who ever is in front of me to give me my breaking distance and before you say I was driving a right hooker no I was in a left hooker the same as these guy's and girls.

Never bothered me driving on this stretch of German hi-way/autobahn because if your driving as you should you'll see it but you'll alway's be watching what's happening around you.

I’m not really sure how its presence creates a distraction. Most roads have things nearby that people might stare at. They don’t usually cause accidents.

Nicht klugscheissen wenn man keine Ahnung hat. In einem Kühlkoffer kannst nix niederzurren, da sind nicht mal Ösen drin. Wären auch ziemlich sinnlos weil du seitlich nicht ran kommst. Hier wird die Ladung durch Formschluß gesichert und nach hinten mit Klemmstangen.

Sure, the Police have 3D scanner and drones to document accident scenes like this one for further investigation.

@@oldwobble916 The sculpture is not distractive. It's there since ages and espcially German Truck drivers are used to it. This part of German Autobahn ist just one of the most frequented parts in Germany.

Ich denke, man sollte diesen Heli auf dem Hügel entfernen, dann kracht es bestimmt nicht mehr so oft an der gleichen Stelle. Es bietet einfach ein Objekt der Ablenkung.

Wer sich davon ablenken lässt,hat am Steuer nix zu suchen..was willst du an den Autobahnen alles entfernen die ablenken könnten? LKW- Unfälle haben selten etwas mit der Gegend zu tun ,eher Ablenkung durch Handy ,Müdigkeit eventuell auch Sicht....auch Kampfpiloten aus dem Osten sind oft Schuld...

Wer kp hat von den aktuellen Gegebenheiten zwischen kamener Kreuz und Unna sollte einfach still sein... Unsere tolle Autobahn GmbH errichtet auf 2 km 2 Baustellen hintereinander auf einem Teil Stück wo es eh schon immer sehr voll ist.... Und von jetzt auf gleich kommt es dort zum stillstand. Naja und einige Fahrer sind halt mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt...
Der Hut sieht ja cool aus, ab 11:10 😁An der Stelle wo dieser Rettungshubrauber auf dem Berg steht, da waren schon öfters Auffahrunfälle von Lkws.
Der (ausrangierte) Hubschrauber steht glaube ich da als Warnung, weil es schon immer ein Unfallschwerpunkt ist. Aber er lenkt die Blicke auf sich und sorgt wahrscheinlich deshalb für mehr Unfälle. Absurd, oder?
@@racecruiserViele scheinen da wohl hinzuschauen und sind kurz abgelenkt. Wenn ich fahre, lasse ich mich generell nicht ablenken und gucke nicht länger irgendwo hin, da bin ich sehr streng mit mir. Vielleicht wäre es besser, diesen Hubschrauber woanders hinzustellen.
Bei uns steht kein Hubschrauber und es passieren trotzdem Unfälle bei mir fliegt der ADAC Hubschrauber mehrmals am Tag über mein Haus und ich guck dann auch nicht jedesmal 😂😂😂😂😂

Ich wohne ca 10km von dem Kreuz entfernt, und dort ist seit sehr vielen Jahren ein Unfallschwerpunkt. Lange bevor der Hubschrauber da gelandet ist. Ich wüsste nicht dass der Hubschrauber da groß an der Statistik gearbeitet hätte. Ich finde das Kreuz vor allem für unerfahrene oder unkundige Fahrer kompliziert. Viele merken im letzten Moment dass sie falsch fahren und ziehen dann rüber, und häufig genug krachts dann.
VN24 hält nicht viel vom Recht am eigenen Bild es werden keine Gesichter oder Fahrzeugkennzeichen verpixelt

Die Ladungssicherung war einwandfrei. Die Kartons mit Gefriergut waren bündig an der Stirnwand hochgestapelt, dahinter hat eine mobile Thermowand den Raum abgeschlossen. Etwa zwei Drittel des Laderaums waren leer.
