Hey sis! As a believer with a deaf aunt, I’ve seen so many deaf people accept Jesus Christ as their savior with their hands, with their eyes when they couldn’t with their words out their mouth. I share this for additional encouragement and hope.

Can we get the book recommendation list you all discussed?
As someone who also was raised in the church, things have changed so much. I can say, if you go to a church and you are not convicted to change your life, you probably shouldn't be there. Meaning, you should be uncomfortable living in sin when you go there, the word of God is powerful and when it's taught properly, it convicts your heart and you have to change.

As an occupational therapist who loves God and work with kids with disabilities, I had the same questions about salvation for people with disabilities. The more I get to know God and work with these children, I see there is hope here on earth and in eternity for people with disabilities. They just need us to meet them and love them where they are at right now🤍 Psalms 139:13-14

I just listened to Preston's book on audio books (so I'm sure that's why this is in my recommended; not complaining!) and LET ME TELL YOU! y'all need to read it or listen to it! it's very practical, it gives the contexts that we could witness in (i.e. family that know you & your past / flaws, strangers), ways to start conversations about God, the heart in which we witness, what NOT to do... it's all there. I especially love the part about being okay with watering. We don't always see the full result of our witness, but it's a seed planted. Check out his book, "How to win hearts and not arguments". It's FIRE. God really did His big one with giving us (the Body of Christ) a Preston Perry.

1:06:43 ya’ll done messed around and got me crying. My 5 year old is autistic and delayed. But I see glimmers of hope in him that confirm my hope. He struggles to speak but I can see him looking and trying. He sings some worship songs that he enjoys. He welcomes the nightly prayers and Bible stories. I have hope, but most importantly I look for every little win and am grateful when they come. And I’ve learned to praise and worship even when he’s having his meltdowns. He’s taught me to trust that God will make a way when I don’t even see one because he is a good Father and an awesome God. Thank you for sharing your experience because it builds the community of parents that have children with special needs. ❤

amen! yes!! praise and worship even while meltdowns are happening, being patient with him... I worked with someone non-verbal and even how that person trusted me and followed my voice even in the midst of noisy environments ministered to me. God used it to show me to trust Him and listen out for His voice even in chaotic moments. There are so many beautiful practical lessons about God that I'm sure you've been blessed to learn with your baby

The part about Preston and John going at it to prove whether Jesus is God or not remind me of Nabeel Quereshi and David Wood. Nabeel, a devout Muslim lived to devour Christians intentionally seeking to prove we don't worship God. He eventually converted and became a leading apologist for Christianity David was able to defend his faith accurately. His story is very inspiring.

I'm currently praying and searching for that as well. At my current church which I've attending for years alot has happened. My pastor recently filed for divorce without explanation. Just a few Sundays ago has wrongfully used Acts as a warning to the people for those who he heard has gossiped about him. Literally said he's trying to scare the people. Which the text he used was speaking about the man and wife for lying to the Holy Spirit about the money they kept and died because of it. Smh That was the final straw for me. I feel uncomfortable in going.

the convo about nonverbal people & salvation... WHEW. it's a topic I don't hear many (read: anyone else until today) talk about but God put on my heart.
in 2023 He had me take this job with a non-verbal person and taught me soooo much. I know my role was to just plant a seed because there's no way I can see the fruit of my labour (yet; I left the job when God said my time was up). The person in care loved music, like Megan's son Caleb. So I would just play worship music and music with Scripture that was calming, and the person loved it; their whole demeanor changed. I went in with the mindset I think most Christians have: I need to cast this mute spirit out, see complete physical healing in this person NOW. And God said no, this person will be autistic & will need help for their whole life FOR HIS GLORY. How? I talk about that in a vid on my channel so I won't type it all here. I'll just say, it humbled me and changed my entire approach lol. Not seeing people as "xyz needs to be fixed" but seeing them with compassion & reaching them where they're at.
But another thing God said was that my role was to plant the seed. No one else had ever bothered giving the gospel to this person because of their conditions. Yet the enemy was still wreaking havoc on that person's life, as he does with all of us because satan doesn't play fair. I saw demons manifesting and telling me that the person was theirs "rightfully" and that I could never share the gospel with him because he couldn't verbally consent. It was a battle ground for spiritual warfare. BUT VICTORY BELONGS TO JESUS! God showed me some specific things to set the atmosphere to be one of worship, praise, thanksgiving, and inviting His presence. I prayed with and for the person. I played worship music. I tried playing the audio Bible of the gospel of Luke but the person wasn't into it, which is okay.
God has ways of reaching EVERYBODY. It could be through music, a sermon, discipleship, reading the Bible, hearing the Bible, and so many ways we can't even think of. What matters is that when He gives us an assignment to plant or water a seed, we can't rush the process or feel like we failed just because we didn't see the result. I still pray for that person to this day, and I believe I always will. God showed me a vision of the person thanking me in heaven for not giving up on introducing them to Jesus, which humbled me as I worked.
And like Megan said, this person in care was so patient. People in public would always compliment me and say "you're so patient to work with this person" but I was like "nah, this person is patient with ME!" because for real, this person was patient as I learned what their sounds meant and we learned to communicate with each other. And the person was joyful... yes they had their tantrums and rough moments, I'm not gonna lie, but ultimately they were a cool person, all things considered.
Don't give up on non-verbal & autistic people! They need Jesus too, and they can understand / encounter Him in their own ways.

Your sons question about his brothers salvation hit me, once again it shows regardless of the age children and their relationship with Jesus Christ is thee most important value a parent can create in their child's life

    45:47 has me thinking of ‭Revelation 3:19 AMP‬
[19] Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self-your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior-seek God’s will].

This was the 1st Megan Ashley episode that didn’t come naturally for me, as far as understanding (& not in a bad way but a reflective way)… when they talked about not seeking to understand for yourself when reading the Bible but seeking to understand from God’s standpoint , I had difficulty because when I take time to meditate on the Word, I try to understand from a personal standpoint so I can better understand and apply it to my life … is that wrong ? I feel like I’ll never fully understand God’s exact meaning .
Also, second question is worshipping an excessive thing ? I have things that I routinely do : workout, read, etc. … what is that balance of this is a routine and this is excessive going towards worship?

To answer your first question, the Bible is about God. We truly have to see life through the lens of the Lord vs. being focused on self , you know? Cause God’s ways, timing and understanding etc are not ours so we need to be humbling ourselves with that reality daily. Ask God questions, ask Him for understanding and He is faithful to teach you, correct you and heal you and your perspective will change. God is our Creator and we are the created so it makes perfect sense to seek from His standpoint cause we come into this world knowing nothing but sin. We are born/raised in it and it’s the environment due to family, friends, co-workers, strangers etc. We belong to the Lord and He is the Lord who sees us through all things of life from deliverance, healing, traumas, relationships, work, purpose etc…all that there is on life and what anyone will ever go through, the wisdom of it all the Lord has. If you continue to try to understand in the way that you are doing now it’s like your only taking advice from Him and not allowing Him to shape your heart. It will be a one sided relationship and giving room for deception to come in.
Secondly, whatever you put in the place of God is an idol. It’s ok to workout etc but what is your heart behind it like anything else we do in life.
I hope what I said made sense ❤

Lord Jesus please give me strength. I seem to bear the weight of the world on my shoulders as a single mom, I often face challenges that can seem insurmountable especially with raising two children with special needs. I’m trying to balance everything but Lord I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus hear my prayers and please continue to give me strength.❤️❤️
