First of all thanks Simon you have helped understand more about brands and the process of reselling. Me and my Mrs have been doing it for a couple of months now and seem to have leaned towards clothing so I watch a lot of your videos. One brand i've come a cross that I knew nothing about was the Ralph Lauren RRL or Double RL. Great shirts and worth a fair ammount. We found one with pearl popper buttons in a western style! Lovely shirt
@@ModernMunk thank you so much, this fill my heart with joy. I’m so pleased you have picked up a few rips along the way. The Double RL in a western style is am MONSTER !! Have a great week Simon
Hey Simon, massive well done for your journey. You're on. I've been following you since day dot. I chuckled when you said you had an average weekend in sales. I'd love to get 40+ sales. I'm lucky if I pull in 15. I'm curious do you rent your garages iff the council or are they yours. Anyways, keep up the good work and, as always, happy sales.
Hi Lee, thanks for the comment and I do appreciate your support, it means the world to me, The garages I have I do rent off the local council, it seems to be the most cost effective way to store items. Hope you have a great week Simon
you know business is booming when you fill 3 of those ikea bags lol. also, the lady on the scanner is super speedy. hope you buy them a coffee sometimes tho Simon 🤣🤣
I dislike evri. Renowned for throwing parcels over the fence rather than knock on the door. Royal mail treat our deliveries with respect. Always helpful.
@@DeniseWinton-d9n agree NEVER use evri 1 in 500 parcels is a lot to lose plus Royal Mail cover for £150 on all tracked 48/24 wouldnt use anyone else, I like to be able to speak to a human to sort out any problems, Evri and Yodel are terrible for customer service!
Evri is the worst company on the market from 6 parcels 3 lost 1 returned to sender without any reason . 2 deliverd, from now on I do not buy anything when delivery provided by evri 😂
10 RULES To Elevate SALES On EBAY/VINTED I've a question sitting for you in the comments of this video. It's a pretty lengthy one about how I break down the assumed costs under normal selling circumstances when it's not fee free as the cost of doing business in the overall picture comes together like an equation and not just the merits of each sale or a day's worth of sales. I'm keen to hear how you interpret and evaluate these costs and also if I've made any incorrect assumptions.
Hi thanks for watching and appreciate the support, tried to see if there was any other comments, unfortunately can’t see anything else. In regards to your question this will sound daft, but I have no clue how to answer your question, I’m sorry to say I don’t understand it. Sorry hope you have a great day Simon
@@thegentlemanmarketeer looks like maybe one of your admins removed it. In a nutshell under normal circumstances when fees are normally paid you like Warder's Clobber I assume pay 8% PL las well as BF. This amounts 9.6% making fees when FVF was in force ball park 25% with the VAT. As far as I am aware you do not rely on Vinted flips but others do such as WC and Sullyz Vintage. They are also flat VAT registered too so will be paying 7.5% plus under normal circumstances 25% if promoting at 8% in way of Ebay fees with VAT. So that would be say 32.5% straight off the bat. Postage could vary depending on the value of the sale but call it say 5%. That is 37.5% so far. The thing that I don't grasp is that although stuff can be flipped from Vinted it'll still likely be dearer than going out and finding it yourself as you are paying for that convenience. If we were to say on average as a conservative estimate that this amounted to say 40% of the sale as Vinted buyer protection and also postage would need to be applied then that would add up to 77.5% leaving only a 22.5% margin. Sullyz in particular flips V to E continuously I am led to believe. If my assumptions were correct would the juice be worth the squeeze even at say 150k turnover and above? There would still be a whole host of other non Ebay platform expenses still to be paid plus shouldering the cost of paying for free returns. There would also be Vinted flip fails that turned out to be damaged or fake that have been bought quickly as a punt before some other V to E flipper can get to them first.
@@stoneislandkirkcaldy hi I don’t buy from vinted to sell on eBay, I tried it but COG were too high for me, I now only pick up from charity shops and boot sales average cost of goods is £4.88. I sell 100% on eBay only, not sure about other sellers. Have a good week Simon
@@thegentlemanmarketeer I appreciate that you do not flip from V to E. What are your thoughts on how the high cost of goods coupled with the other expenses I mentioned have a critical impact upon the margins that can be achieved when doing this? I don't shoot for an average spend as such but rather evaluate a potential purchase in relation to how much it will likely be of the sale as a whole and try to keep that cost below or as close to 20% as possible. So for a £20 all in sale it'd be a £4 spend, £25 £5 etc in an attempt to keep the margin realised of the sale as a whole 40% minimum. If someone were running at a low profit margin of sale say only 25% and then had to knock a further 7.5% flat rate off too they'd be turning over loads for diminishing rewards.
Let me explain what evri is. Its a company that wants you to believe that is a highly polished and professional business with big shiny vans with their logo on that tirelessly strive to deliver your parcels. The reality is there are no vans, the vehicles are any vehicle. Clapped out estate, transit with 3 weeks MOT left etc. Then theres the delivery people, evri would have you believe that theyre super postman pat and they'd go to great lengths to ensure you get your parcels. The reality is that people are paid to care, and if they aren't paid, they dont care. They take rushing a delivery to new lows, no knock, just put it somewhere near the location job done with a 'secure' delivery. Why their website says rate your courier and has a didn't knock badge of honour I really dont understand because they literally never knock. Evri is a shining example of whats wrong with the modern world and I'm sure those who originally had the idea to deliver a mail service would be stunned and ashamed that its got to this state. Well for me thats it now, total boycott and lets see how long this paper boat floats for.
