MJ is a once in a lifetime talent. He is the apex basketball athlete with so many skills in his arsenal that some go unnamed then you add on top of that intangible attributes like a killer instinct, tireless work ethic, calm under pressure and unmatched drive to win.
You're right, in known, widely-viewed sports history. Any search engine will pull up multiple polls with Jordan at #1. He's up top with Ali, Gretzky, Bolt, Federer, Messi, Ruth, Thorpe, etc...
Wilt Chamberlain people c’mon as fast as Lebron 4.6 40, same vert as Jordan and much stronger than Shaq benching 450 at age 60. I put them both on Demigod level. They’d have temples built if they lived in past.
To answer your question at 13:50 Jordan I think was in charge or player personnel, if not that he was some kind of exec and had a stake in ownership for the wizards. Either way he thought the team he had was good enough to compete, so he gave up his ownership and pretty much signed himself for a 2 year, 2 mil contract to play for the team he was in charge of.
I dont think anyone has ever had every single athletic attribute for bball at 99%....hand size, first step, acceleration, top speed, creativity, 1 foot jump, 2 foot jump, 2nd jump, energy, etc. He was the freak of freaks. Never watched him play live but you realize it real quick when you start watching single game highlights
@@whenisdinner2137 "More athletic" is hard to define. Was he off the chart athletic? You bet. But so are Ant and Ja. It's other factors that came into play over the years since he was that skinny kid down the road from me in Wilmington. Three years with the iconic HOF Coach Dean Smith and playing with the likes of James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, etc. and then having his skills honed against players like Magic and Bird (for starters) sharpened his innate skills and court awareness. And he learned to talk from the king of trash talking. 🐦 It's way too early to compare Ja and Ant. I've seen them live. Revisit this ten years from now.
What these young guys dont understand is players today have had rules to favor more offense, early 90s era all the superstars today averages would drop with the amount of physicality or skill needed to make your own space. KD, ja, curry etc would be in big trouble in 90s era.
Let's not forget the decades before the 90s. The 80s? 😳 Chamberlain doing situps effortlessly with 450 pound weights? Palming, traveling, hand checks...

Good work. It is good to see a young man who can actually understand the skill and abilities of an athlete and talk about it with some knowledge of the game. Ja and Antman are great athletes. But, they are not anything very different from what we have seen. Look up Kevin Johnson, who use to rise over bigs as a PG or Steve Francis, who would boom on anyone, Spud Webb, and Clyde Drexler. There have always been high flying PGs and SGs in the NBA.
Jordan retired from the Bulls. A couple of years later he became a part owner of the Washington Wizards. He didn’t like the way the team played so he laced them up to show them what they should be doing.
Hey my man, great reaction. I want you to consider something. Do you think anybody playing with this intensity and effort could maintain for 20 plus years? Look at how people are defending his offensive efforts. No player today knows what this feels like. I honestly believe they would play less impressively if they had to compete with this every game for 70+ games. Consider that when you think about players like Ja Morant.
