there was one time I was playing this game and another crew passed by our ship, I stood close to the edge to wave hi and they harpooned me on to their ship. I spent the next 30 minutes to an hour adventuring with a crew of complete strangers who essentially kidnapped me, and made some hilarious memories. when it was time for me to leave and finally mermaid back to my crew, I stood on the edge of their plank and we all played this song to say goodbye before I jumped into the depths. the type of a memory only video games can give. what a beautiful song
Every time I hear this song, it makes me feel like I could cry. I just think of the old days. 2 years ago, my friend and I got really into this game. We played it all of the time. We did all of the Shore of Gold Tall Tales together, we did Seabound Soul and Heart of Fire together on release. We caught almost every fish, we hit pirate legend, we got to Athena's 20. Hell, we maxed out every company, because we loved Sea of Thieves more than anything, and even when we were grinding, we always had a good time, laughing, telling stupid stories, talking about random stuff. I'll never forget those memories. Here we are, in 2021, and as of 4 months ago, my crew of two shrunk to a crew of one.
This is precisely my story, more or less, except me losing my crew happened because my crew was my ex-fiance (who has since left me) and took our crew with her. I feel you, brother.
I played with my friend who I knew for 7 years, and we had so many great memories, they were for the good times and the bad times. We played this game for awhile, and we always had a good laugh and great fun. It's not easy to find people like that now. His memories live on through me, and I will never forget them.
I once formed an alliance with 4 crews, we had a beautiful 3 Galleons and a Sloop to scout. We concurred the seas, and after a while we stopped at an outpost, had some drinks, shared our stories, and finally said our goodbyes. I gave the idea to scuttle all our ships together. And as they sank, we all played becalmed, it was one of the most beautiful moment of my gaming career. Thank you sailers.

I remember one time there was a double galleon alliance I was a part of, we had been playing for a while before coming upon a different double galleon group. Battle ensued and it ended with all 4 ships going down. But before that happened, a couple of us broke this out on the instruments. That is one of my favorite memories from this game.

I used to have a full man crew we would go out treasure hunting, fishing, plundering and most importantly having fun. Unfortunately we kinda separated and played with other people on different games. I still get sad now when I go back into sea of thieves because it reminds me of them 😔😔 miss ya boys

The glitterbeard Easter egg is by far the most emotional and we'll thought of Easter egg in any game I've played. Coming together with another crew you just met standing at the tree playing becamed... And then reading in the journal about making friends on the sea of thieves and realizing that's just what you did to uncover the last journal... Coming together with strangers having a good time and enjoying the game. Just the best Easter egg I've ever seen with a great message hidden inside
