Like he made Sabito and Tsutako proud, helped defeat Muzan therefore prevented countless deaths, and now can spend the last years of life with those he cares about knowing they’ll be safe and accepts his death when it comes so he can see his loved ones again
I like to think he smiles again because he feels like he’s made it up to Tsutako and Sabito for not being “strong enough” by helping defeat Muzan and get rid of all demons. He’s not smiling necessarily because he’s going to die, but because he managed to make it up to them before he died and can now be at peace until he does.
Well that’s not entirely true.. in the epilogue chapter he acknowledges sabito’s will of wanting giyuu to live properly, everyone is at peace now because demons are gone for good which was the greatest cause for all their losses. Not directed at you OP 😅 but like a lot of ppl have an obsession of making sad stories even sadder than it already is
I LOVE IT. Tomioka is my fav. hashira after tokito-san and the misunderstandings that he hold never are treated correct when the most of the reactions talk about it.
