This is the right way of doing it. A lot of builders don’t do it

What type of sealant did you use for this and was it butyl or something wondering what brand to buy

I really like full silicones when they don’t need to be painted. Seem to last longer and be flexible. Flexseal is good one

What material are you using? The metal looks like 4 x 4 inch steel of some kind.

      Aluminum L-flashing.

Google aluminum concrete corrosion. Not very compatible. Galvanized steel would be better, stainless would be best.

Won't a lot of the aluminum be exposed on the concrete even after the siding is installed?

Pretty sure they would tile over the slab and cover the angle as well.

If you are going to make an instructional video for viewers to use as an example, please do things right. 1) You mentioned a Z flaming was correct. Yes, that would have been the right way, not L flashing and depending on caulk not to fail. 2) Aluminum reacts with concrete (corrosion), just do a Google search. Galvanized steel would be a step up and stainless steel would be about bomb proof. 3) You mentioned the Tyvek should have overlapped the flashing. It would have literally taken 5 more minutes to do it right. Don't build in failure points especially when you know the right way to do it.

Yes all of those steps would have been better… but this is under a patio cover so we didn’t feel it needed that much extra

What are you doing? Terrible install. You must put your flashing under the tyvek (shingle effect) so water drains onto the flashing. Relying on some tape is ridiculous. Any water that lamds on the concrete will make its way underneath the flashing and into the framing. Your little bead of caulk isn't going to do much. You should have cut into the concrete and done it right. Without that you should have at least fully caulked the joint before putting on the flashing and definitely put way more sealant on the bottom and onto the concrete before installing. Hope your sealant is premium amd will last for 30 years.
