  • Adding some height to the ends for the 'high ends' of the algonquin old style model. This is how you can make the bark come up higher to give it the popular high end look. The bark from the main roll (16 foot roll from one main tree) does not go high enough so I must add some more bark.

Chaque fois que tu montres comment assembler l'écorce avec des racines, ça me donne envie d'essayer! Thanks for the demo.

Tu devrais essayer, mais c'est difficile d'arrêter un passe temps très agréable ! :)

Hadn't seen this video Steve .. Did you ever try rubbing a candle on the roots ... I just tried that for practice and it worked quite well. This is my next step sewing in the side panels.

You would use the wax to help the root slide through the tighter hole ? That is a good idea, i had not thought of that ! Cheers, Steve

@@NomadicWoodsman Yes exactly Steve .. You just rub a bit on, which seems to help when the root start drying up. I had read this somewhere in my research. Another little tip that helped me with pushing the root tip through the same hole twice, was to leave my awl tip visible, then kind of push the root tip against the awl tip while backing it out of the hole and the root would fallow the awl.
      Hope this helps my friend.
