Who’s ready to escape to an idyllic cabin in the woods? Katie and Drew have found the most beautiful home for themselves here. Their gardens are incredible! We hope you enjoy the tour of this wonderful cabin! With love, Bryce & Rasa
Thank you, Bryce and Rasa, for another lovely home tour, a great dose of minimalism, and the wonderful perspective. I live in the greater Montreal area, so we share Vermont’s 4 distinct seasons. I think many of your viewers would enjoy seeing Katie and Drew enjoying a Vermont winter day. ☺😀 Now, that would be fascinating…and about as real as it gets. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦
I LOVE the updated way you’ve made these videos more streamlined by simply intro and closure with Bryce, and zero interactive filler talk during the tour. Don’t get me wrong, it was never an issue and we loved the interaction but it’s so less “cluttered”, and efficient, giving us just what we need, great visuals, key info succinctly, less chit chat, and honing in on the essential details and aspects. WELL DONE!!! Love it!
@@oasisdomesticarts7807 I always thought this "self narrated" tour was something done remotely when Bryce and Rasa couldn't make it to the location. I personally prefer having both of them present and Rasa's recording style is surely missed (IMO) on this style of presentation. Either way, we all enjoy a small glimpse into the lifestyles of those who have found the benefits of living a upon a smaller footprint.
agree. This is a very nice size home to live conformably without feeling cramped or outgrow it soon after moving in. I would recommend anyone buiding their own home like this one where the bedrooms are in the "attic" to build loft attic dormers to add some extra room, add window which will bring in sunlight and make it feel more open. Having the bedrooms in a attic without dormers can feel a little claustaphobic. Adding dormers is not that much addition money but, will really make this attic space fell much larger. Candice olson from the HGTV show Devine Design has a great attic renovation for an attic space.
I used to watch the Internet news before bed then have nightmares. Now I watch several episodes of Living Big in a Tiny House, and my faith in the future and good people has returned! Bryce and Rasa, I LOVE your shows, your outlook on life, and all you do! Keep up the good work. I, with sooo many others, will be here watching!
I totally agree with you. It’s so reassuring & calming to see so many nice, enthusiastic, happy people, especially when so many areas of the world are in crisis.
Whilst I do miss Bryce's enthusiasm I do love how you get your videographers overseas to film in your recognisable style ❤ I love this wonderful place, the upstairs and those gardens are amazing ❤
Absolutely love this home. I live in a cabin that used to be abandoned in the woods. As a kid, I fantasized about having a large house, but now that I've lived in a little cabin for 10 years, I would have no use for more space.
Yeah having someone who's on the same page as you makes it possible to do these things. I know for me it's hard to do something like this because of fear. So even though it's possible it's just hard to not have another person who's on the same goal. So yeah they're enjoying a new way of living and it's so great❤
I love that you’ve included a tiny-ish home. As property owners that have looked at a the option of a THOW, we find them to be a depreciating investment. A small home on a true foundation actually appreciates in value, so great to see some of these options. Looks like they’ve found themselves a terrific, tiny-ish home.
Beautiful place, home and video! We live in a little (450 sq feet) home on 7 wooded acres in northern Idaho. So many people have said they can’t imagine living “like this” - being with their spouse all day and also living 30 miles away from the nearest small town. We just smile and say …. then it’s a really good thing you don’t. 🙂. We love it here. All of it - a paid off small mortgage, no debt, nature all around use, time, togetherness, simplicity. So grateful! Thanks for this lovely video!
🇱🇰 Aww as fellow Sri Lankans currently living in Canada, my husband and I are counting days to go back to home country to live that simple life again. I am happy you guys finally found the lifestyle you wanted ♥️♥️
For sure, did not expect the roominess of this lovely cabin ! It was a joy to take in the gardens, the outdoor tub and fire pit, too. Kudos to this fascinating couple and their living choices . 👍💕😊
As soon as Drew opened his mouth, I said to myself ok an Aussie, Im here for it!!😊 I love that Aussies get out there and do this cottage/tiny house lifestyle outside of Australia. It's wonderful to see and hear how it's all going for them.
Hello, from Canada. Katie and Drew, you are absolutely right about the importance of an entrance/mudroom. It becomes even more essential when winter hits - to keep from tracking snow through the house, and having a place to hang bulky clothes. I wonder if you have a place for cold storage where you can keep the vegetables that you harvest. The whole place looks so idyllic.
A beautiful cabin in the woods and growing your fruits and vegetables is so smart... your home is beautiful and spacious...your land is beautiful and sustainable ....Lots of luck
Lovely to be able to live your life comfortably. As we get older our houses become cluttered with stuff we don't actually need or want. It feels good to get free from old habits. Thanks for sharing Bryce. I see you're back in the USA.
I think I particularly love this video because it reminds me of where I live, also in a cabin in the woods (though without running water or indoor plumbing). There is nothing so lovely as living a simply life. There is more work to do, but less cost, and a lot more joy at being out of the rat race. And Vermont has got to be my favourite US state! Good luck with your new homestead, Katie and Drew!
What a beautiful little cabin. It seems just the perfect size for a couple to live in comfortably without being cramped but still able to have occasional guests. I love tiny homes but if I was to have one I wouldnt necessarily need the movable aspect that most of them have, a cabin like this seems like the ideal alternative. I think I would spend a lot more time outside surrounded by that gorgeous forest and garden too. Thanks for letting us visit!
Small cabin, rather than a tiny house, ABSOLUTELY!!! Way to go. We have done this too and love it. We did the big house, 5600 square feet, pool, circle drive, woods, big yard…no more. We live on 1/4 Acre, on the Little River, in 1300 square feet, much better.
Amazing, thoughtful young couple. As someone who grew up on the so-called Hippie side of environmentalism, it is good to see a return to the notion of returning to the land. One couple at a time could start a trend that saves us yet, just in the nick of time.
People like this should be running our Government! They care about the environment and its not all about being rich , living in mansions! It's about family meeting your needs and not wants. Just disappointed in our Government, and not caring for the average persons struggles to make ends meet .
Love this video. Such a sweet couple, living a pure and tranquil lifestyle, with less pressures. Their home is lovely, it seems to suit their personalities. Thanks again Bryce & Rasa. We all need time to reflect, adjust, and plan our unique pathway in life.
Absolutely beautiful! The property, the house, the well kept garden and this couple and the love that they share! Thanks Bryce, your videos are such a wonderful contribution!
I love their beautiful cabin in the woods AND their lifestyle. I think a lot of people questioned and changed their lifestyles during the pandemic, for the better!
This cabin is fantastic. I love it. Love the spiral staircase too. This couple are so smart to have relized the simple things in life are what's important and be totally content with this. Such a lovely way to live. I bet they are mentally at peace and very balanced.
What a wonderful place to live! Thank you, Bryce and Rasa, this was a bit of a step outside of your "traditional" tinys, but very nice. Katie and Drew, your home is inviting, tastefully furnished, and nicely decorated, and when lit by sunlight through the windows, it is literally beautiful! The size seems to be great too, so I can only wish you many fulfilling years in your beautiful small cabin in the woods!
From a practical standpoint it is a beautifully designed cabin. You can tell it was built by a professional finish carpenter or contractor who has excellent taste. The cabin just draws you in and the amount of light is extraordinary for a small home. I envy them their counter space and the cabinets appear to be made not purchased through a big box store. That they were able to purchase it for $160K with plenty of land, potable water, and a septic system was a good deal. It is getting harder every year in Vermont to buy land. I grew up there in the house my Father built in 1962 that was once surrounded by woods. As kids we could walk through the woods in all directions to visit friends and it was actually quicker than riding our bikes around what we called the flat iron due to he roads that evolved naturally. I see it now and it makes me cry. Every single inch of my hometown is littered with large houses for the upper middle class which has become the bedroom community for the Queen City just across the river. I remember all the wild animals that lived there and it wasn't unusual to see a flying squirrel or come across a fox who hadn't been successful in finding food the night before. We used to feed the foxes our dogs kibble when they looked thin as more and more houses were added. That was 30 to 40 years ago and now animals like squirrels, chipmunks, foxes raccoons and others are a nuisance because they nest under porches or garden sheds and they are trapped and taken God only knows where. So if this is your dream plan on sooner rather than later because property values are through the roof as it is and it is not going to get any better.
I basicly just complained about the same thing. The average family struggles daily because the cost of basics are no longer affordable. Our Government needs to be rid of the rich in power that are to old to understand how life is today. Get some younger people to replace them!
@@carolynlasher8896 , It's really not about 'old people'__re: affordable housing(or not, as the case may be) it's about changing the local laws requiring a minimum of 2,000 sq. footage for new builds. This is my retirement dream. Vermont is my favorite state & I grew up spending much of our family vacation time in Vermont. We backpacked & skied all over the state & have a family lake house in the northeast region. I’ve been making a study of tiny house options in Vermont & this video is very inspiring.
That's exactly what I have been wanting for myself, in term of size, I love tiny homes, but daily, I would feel slightly claustrophobic. I like how they considered the space when choosing this cabin! I have been renovating a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom semi detached house with a big garden and it is so perfect for me. Big enough to have a bit of room and have people over and a garden where I plan to grow lots of food, living simply but maybe not fully tiny 😅 It is about finding the right balance that works for you and that's great they did, amazing property and cabin! And amazing video as always!
I liked this home with all the modern amenities designed thoughtfully combined with the scenic garden and natural beauty all around. The young couple is really sorted, knows exactly what they require and have built a lifestyle for themselves. Best wishes
I absolutely love this house! Actually more than the tiny homes. I wish you would show more of the cabin/small size houses? Central Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
What a wonderful design on the interior. Really love the basic openness of it all, though the bedrooms are a bit too closed for me. Way to go, Katie and Drew!
When I lived in Manhattan, I spent some time in a cabin in West Virginia, I brought along my dog. We were in a forest and there was only nature around us. That brief experience was enough to understand, once I returned to NYC, that it wasn't normal to live in that frenetic way. It was a shock to return to the city, even my dog was depressed. So all my understanding and admiration for Kate and Drew's choice. Thank you Bryce and Rasa for spreading the value of healthy, independent life through your wonderful program.
Bryce is right, so happy for you to recreate your minimal life in this small cabin. Also, I really admire your willingness to disrupt the life you had for the life that brings you joy.
So true, I agree with having time outside. I love the gardens. Growing your own food and spending time enjoying planting. One day I will have my space to do a garden and build a home. Just enjoy watching this video from South Africa . Enjoy the rest of 2023.
Katie and Drew, your cabin is very beautiful. Your lifestyle, I believe, is the way that God intends all of us to live. You have made a fabulous garden. You are living a wonderful life, and you have each other to share it with. God bless you both.🙏
I am so jealous of this couple, living in a way we all should/could aspire to. I'm originally from Ohio and lived in New York City for 3 years. I've lived in Los Angeles for a little over 60 years. I'm now 85 (and poor) and could never have a place similar to this which I have dreamed of most of my life. They are so lucky!
Really enjoyable seeing people choosing another way and growing independently within it. Beautiful scenery over there (in the land of the Styxx). Judy(NZ)
Fantastic video...I love the principles by which they live ...I sooo resonate with....its all about reconnecting with nature....being human....not just a slave to a robotic life...
I do get the new approach of guests talking ab their houses but I loved when you have interacted with them I loved questioning all, and all those small talks. Please come back to that as that what was so charming and great in your videos.
I'm so happy to hear it! After 30 years, my husband left (2 years ago now) and I am hoping to find a place I can eventually move to, in the US, into a small cabin. I do like community, but equally want to be able to grow my own food, and have plenty os space for my dog.@@livingbig
When they opened the door to their cabin I actually gasped. I was not expecting such a beautiful space! But I have to say - and this is not a criticism - the life they're living is very common in this part of the world. (I live in Eastern Canada, just north of New England, where Vermont located.) Of course, the difference between New York City and Vermont is like living in another world entirely. It seems that this couple, having had their taste of the rest of the world, now are ready to live a simple New England life and appreciate all that it has to offer. Lovely little cabin!
Beautiful location and cabin! It would be really great to include how much the land cost in addition to the house and also what they do for a living? Helps to know how realistic these goals are to achieve.
No but like why is this the perfect size for me 😭😭😭 I'm really only into tiny houses simply for their humility and amazing financial benefits, so to see these kinds of slightly larger homes that still provide these and more makes me confident to live small 🥰
I can appreciate the idea of being outdoor people and that sitting and computers aren't for everyone; but someone at a desk and behind a computer designed, manufactured, ordered, paid for and a a sitting trucker shipped every single thing they have in their yard and house. So, you're welcome.
This is the way I would like to live as well ... this vlog serves as an inspiration and aspiration to achieve ... soon my husband & I will be luving like this as well I hope & pray❤❤❤❤❤
I really liked this video, very warm and beautiful feel. I get what they are saying about knowing their needs require something a little bigger than a tiny home. That cabin is gorgeous!
Did I miss where they said how big it is, or did they not mention the square feet? I’m in the beginning stages of converting a detached two car garage into a small home and I love watching tours of other small homes to get a good idea of what I can fit in mine!

Believe it or not, my Saturdays are always better because of your videos.. The fact that you're so punctual and never disappoint us is great Bryce!
I live in Vermont, not very far from these folks. What they paid for the place is a steal for VT. Great little homestead.
Amazing! The courage & certitude in making things happen when you live your truth. Thank you 🫶
this cabin is so beautiful. what a fabulous spot. hope they have many happy years there.
I do get the new approach of guests talking ab their houses but I loved when you have interacted with them I loved questioning all, and all those small talks. Please come back to that as that what was so charming and great in your videos.
Bryce can't travel to all foreign countries!
I'm so happy to see the world is really changing for good. people are reconnecting.
Beautiful home in a beautiful spot!!! I like how cozy and function the cabin is.
That's just a beautiful home.... enough space ...to function when & where needed .....looks fabulous what garden.
Wow! I loved this place. Stunning and beautiful tolive in. Thanks Bryce for sharing this inspiring Content.
Its a lovely cabin and I think the interior is so pretty and cozy. Especially their 2 bedrooms. So charming and inviting.
As a sri lankan it is so happy to see that they were inspired by seen our lifestyle. Katie and Drew love from 🇱🇰❤
I LOVE seeing videos from you here in the states
Das ist einfach wunderschön. Da würde ich auch gern Leben. Die Größe ist perfekt und der schöne Garten. Traumhaft.
Y’all have found paradise on earth!💕
I'm so happy to see a Tiny House in The United States! What a GORGEOUS Tiny house!!!
Thanks! We will be filming lots more in the USA next year!
I'm so happy to hear it! After 30 years, my husband left (2 years ago now) and I am hoping to find a place I can eventually move to, in the US, into a small cabin. I do like community, but equally want to be able to grow my own food, and have plenty os space for my dog.@@livingbig
I absolutely love it and having a couple of horses would make it PERFECT! ❤️🏡
I envy this couple. We all should live this simply.
I love this! The cabin, the couple and their inspiring ideas for living small and simply! Thank you SO much for sharing ❤.
Thank you for showing us this home, and their journey
Wow! This is gorgeous!
Beautiful cabin...good luck this winter.
Bryce, this is by far my favorite of homes on your channel...... WOW!
We used a wheeled stool in our crawlspace to make moving around easier
It’s nice to see tiny living in the northeast.
Cute, quaint home with literally everything they need. Nice garden, too.
Beautiful house! 👏 And wise nice couple leaving as they wanted to. World should be full of such happy people ❤
I can appreciate the idea of being outdoor people and that sitting and computers aren't for everyone; but someone at a desk and behind a computer designed, manufactured, ordered, paid for and a a sitting trucker shipped every single thing they have in their yard and house. So, you're welcome.
This is the way I would like to live as well ... this vlog serves as an inspiration and aspiration to achieve ... soon my husband & I will be luving like this as well I hope & pray❤❤❤❤❤
More Vermont content, please 💚
I really liked this video, very warm and beautiful feel. I get what they are saying about knowing their needs require something a little bigger than a tiny home. That cabin is gorgeous!
What a beautiful home, cozy and cool.
Did I miss where they said how big it is, or did they not mention the square feet? I’m in the beginning stages of converting a detached two car garage into a small home and I love watching tours of other small homes to get a good idea of what I can fit in mine!
I missed the dimensions, too. Usually they are stated and posted in text in the screen.
