SEPANJANG JALAN KENANGAN

In 1967, Tetty Kadi, a famous Indonesian songstress and actress of the time, and Phillip Comp, Tetty Kadi’s musician friend, first recorded “SEPANJANG JALAN KENANGAN” (translated freely: “A Trip Down Memory Lane”). This song was composed by Aloysius Riyanto, a prolific and prominent Indonesian songwriter. It tells a story of one who returns to his/her lover’s hometown, reminiscing of a romantic rendezvous while taking a stroll down a country road. This song is still one of the most popular oldies in Indonesia.
