I love your outlook! I'll be starting my 1L this fall and I'm worried about the 'hustle culture'. Good to know there are other people with my same mindset. Best of luck for the rest of your schooling, I'll be following along :)

    1. I like the concept of keeping ahead of your work so you have your evening free to relax and decompress
    2. I also like the concept of transferring hand written notes to your computer after classes- maybe you could do a video on this process and why it works?
    3. Could you post some of your reading assignments so we can tag along with some of your work?
    Thanks, great video!

i can definitely make a video on my note taking process! as for the readings, i’m not sure how that would play out with the honor code and i don’t want to break any rules but i could definitely include some general examples of reading assignments in that note taking video!

you are getting me through my panic for starting law school rn

I am Brazilian and here we have 5 years of law school it’s insane. But most important thing that you talked was how much important is when you listen yourself. Because let’s be honest: when you have to learn something, it takes time, and if you are studying and studying all night long, all day long YOU WILL
NOT BE ABLE TO LEARN PROPERLY.
But this is the kind of thing that you learn when you listen yourself, when you realize what is good for you and just for you.
    So, congrats! 🎉

That's funny. You're right that breaking your back could be a potential tort, but you caused your own tort by carrying books and if you were to blame the school for breaking your back you can't cause they provided you with a locker. This my friend is the world of Negligence in Torts.
Also, keep in mind you are just starting law school so the reading for now will be easy, but later the reading doubles, briefing triples, and not to mention you have to do legal writing (approx. 18- 25 pages). That is not to say that your strategy isn't good, but reading the material once, & jotting down your notes from school won't be enough. You have to constantly review the black letter law & practice hypotheticals in order to succeed in law school. Also you don't know how other classmates of yours plan out their day. Many have children, many have jobs, etc. So not all can fully focus just on school work.

i’ve been reading the cases 2-3 times but i’ve spent most of my time doing that over the weekend so i just need to review before class! but yes my classmates all have different strategies which is why i was saying that i planned out my weeks for what works for me and i’m sure they’re all doing the same! it was just overwhelming at first glance because it felt like i wasn’t doing the same “amount” of work

@@legalstudies1397 That’s good that your reading the cases 2-3 times, but that won’t help you for your midterm or finals. Your not tested on what you learned in those cases. You’ll see you need to practice the BLLs via multiple choice questions & hypos (in which you’re given a fact pattern)you have to figure out what the issues are(meaning the rules), & write an essay in the form of IRAC= issue, rule, analysis, conclusion
