    Rhodiola?? When I was in high school and was a gymnast I had a very hippy coach. My Mom said never take anything she talked about unless I got permission from her and my dad.

    • @JenniRoseHGH
      @JenniRoseHGH 4 місяці тому +4

      @triciapogue6637 Pretty good guess! Rhodiola is also a renowned adaptogen, and it has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for centuries. In TCM, rhodiola is known as "Hong Jing Tian". It has some similar medicinal properties as Siberian Ginseng! :) Jenni Rose- HomeGrown Herbalist School of Botanical Medicine

    Yes! I got it right 😁😁😁 Russia and northern Asia made me think Siberia, but that just confirmed my guess. Good guess Amy! Traditional Chinese medicine uses two types of ginseng: Panax Ginseng and Siberian Ginseng. Panax has a very hot yang energy, while Siberian is cooling and yin. They are both wonderful stimulants and adaptogens, but Panax is much more intense! Jenni Rose - HomeGrown Herbalist School of Botanical Medicine

    Great video, I like hearing the different historical aspects. I want to get this herb and I see you have it on your website. What would be the dosing amount though?

    • @JenniRoseHGH
      @JenniRoseHGH 4 місяці тому

      Hi Kristy. I love history too. :) Siberian Ginseng effects everyone a little differently. It's a good idea to start with a lower dose (1/4 teaspoon of tincture) and gradually increase it (up to a teaspoon of tincture) to assess your body's response and tolerance. That usually does the trick for most people. Jenni Rose - HomeGrown Herbalist School of Botanical Medicine

    I had no clue. Ginseng is not on my radar. If I can't grow it successfully I dont really study it. We have American ginseng around but it is illegal to harvest here. Unfortunately, people pay big money for it here and an illegal harvest wipes out entire patches of it.
    I could grow it legally, but there is a certain unsavory element that is always looking for it, that I do not want to invite near ny property.

      Ashwagandha and Siberian ginseng are both popular adaptogenic herbs known for their ability to help the body cope with stress and promote overall well-being, so it's not a bad guess! Thanks for playing. Have fun studying about Siberian ginseng. It's one of my favorites! Jenni Rose - HomeGrown Herbalist School of Botanical Medicine

      We use the tincture at my house, but those other two methods are also great. The tincture is fast acting and more bioavailable.
